Abstract

Honesty is a valuable moral value that must be owned by everyone. Researchers are trying to find alternative ways to instill this attitude of honesty. Therefore, this study aims to examine the related literature whether the Living Values Education (LVE) learning model emphasizes character education? Can this LVE model be an alternative Islamic education learning model that can train students' honesty? This study uses a qualitative approach with the method of literature study. Data was collected through document study, then analyzed using content analysis method, then data was presented using description method. The results of this study indicate that the Life Values Education learning model can foster student morale such as the moral values of tolerance, anti-radicalism, responsibility, peace, and respect. Application of the LVE in Islamic Religious Education learning significantly instills and enhances honesty in students. This is evident in the changes student behavior, leading to greater honesty in speech, attitude, and actions. LVE model also encourages active student involvement through value reflection, discussion, and role modeling, making Islamic Religious Education learning more meaningful and character oriented. This is a reference that the LVE model can be used as an alternative to instill an attitude of honesty as well.

Abstract

Abstract

The Baḥtsul Masaʾil tradition within Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) is an epistemological laboratory that links the authenticity of classical fiqh tradition with the social dynamics of Indonesian society. In this tradition, the istinbaṭ al-ḥukm method used is based on two main approaches: qauli and ilḥaqi. This article aims to examine in depth the epistemological, methodological, and contextual relevance of these two approaches in responding to modern Islamic legal problems. Using the analytical framework of uṣul al-fiqh and maqaṣid al-shariʿah, this study explains that the qauli approach functions to maintain the authority of the sanad of knowledge by strengthening the legitimacy of the school of thought texts, while the ilḥaqi approach opens up innovative space through social analogies and rational reasoning based on legal similarities. The findings show that the integration of the two produces a contextual, participatory, and humanistic model of ijtihad jama'i. In the contemporary context, NU's istinbaṭ method has proven adaptive to issues such as fintech, bioethics, and national legal plurality. Thus, Baḥtsul Masaʾil is not merely a traditional fatwa forum, but rather a dialectical space for Islamic law that revitalizes classical fiqh reasoning in the modern social landscape.

Abstract

Abstract

This article proposes the Maudhui Qualitative Framework as a new concept that integrates the thematic interpretation (maudhui) approach with qualitative methodology in interpreting social reality. This framework is built on the assumption that knowledge is not solely the result of empirical observation, but also the result of a dialogue between normative texts, social experiences, and spiritual horizons. With an analytical structure consisting of theme identification, qualitative data collection, hermeneutic-thematic analysis, and the formulation of transformative values, this framework presents a coherent, flexible, and transdisciplinary methodological alternative. The article's main findings confirm that the Maudhui Qualitative Framework can enrich social research with ethical and transcendental dimensions that have been neglected by the dominant paradigm. Its implications are not only significant for the development of values-based social science but also provide practical direction for more just, inclusive, and humane social change. Thus, the Maudhui Qualitative Framework can be positioned as a new paradigm that positions social research not only as an academic process, but also as a path to civilizational transformation.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of understanding the meaningful role of mothers in children’s lives and the declining awareness of filial piety in modern society. The research aims to analyze the representation of mothers, the underlying values, moral messages, their relevance to the concept of filial piety (birrul walidain) in Islamic education, and the contribution of the book “Bu Aku Ingin Pelukmu” by Reza Mustopa. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature study method. Data were collected through textual analysis of the book as the primary source, supported by relevant scholarly literature, and analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques involving data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal five main points: (1) the mother is represented as a figure of unconditional love, a source of strength, and a place of return; (2) the values include love, resilience, self-reflection, and spirituality; (3) moral messages emphasize the importance of respecting and honoring mothers; (4) these values align with the concept of filial piety in Islamic education; and (5) the book contributes as an educational medium in fostering awareness of respecting parents. This study recommends interdisciplinary expansion in law, sociology, and value and character education, along with practical implementation through literacy programs and contextual learning in schools and families.

Abstract

Indonesia was born on August 17, 1945, at the same time as the emergence of the term Pancasila which is composed of existing cultural values, personality, statehood, and societal norms so that it becomes the Ideology of the Nation. The ideology is actual, dynamic, and open so that it allows for new innovative thoughts, one of which is the teachings of Sufism which are used as a shield to answer the current moral decline. So the purpose of this study is to describe the values of Sufism in Pancasila as the National Ideology. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature study approach, collecting data using documentation techniques and careful observation of each data. Then analyzed the relevant contents and finally concluded. The results of the study show that the values of Sufism in Pancasila as the National Ideology include Takhalli which is manifested in the first precept as a form of conformity of human nature to be empty of disgraceful attitudes that do not exist in God by drawing closer to him. Then Taḥalli which is manifested in the second, third, and fourth precepts as a form of human self-decoration through a just, civilized attitude, united with a spirit of cooperation and wise deliberation. And finally is Tajalli which is manifested in the fifth precept as a form of application of the divine nature in humans daily so that all-around justice is felt

Abstract

This research is motivated by the idea that social piety values should reflect religious behavior that fosters concern, justice, and social responsibility. However, in practice, reality shows a decline in empathy, increasing individualism, and a decline in public moral role models. The purpose of this study is to examine the development of research on social piety during 2015–2025 and provide recommendations for strengthening these values through academic studies based on bibliometric analysis. The study used a quantitative design with a research bibliometric method. The primary data consisted of 744 article publications (clean data) from Crossref, while the secondary data consisted of books, proceedings, research reports, papers, and theses. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and qualitatively with the help of the Publish or Perish and VOSviewer applications. The study was conducted in October 2025. The results showed a significant increase in publications on the theme of social piety with a peak in 2024. The publication sources were dominated by journals (661 sources), followed by repositories, proceedings, digital books, and final project scientific papers. The nine most productive researchers are Muslim Sabarisman, Suradi, Kadaruddin Aiyub, Dinie Anggraeni Dewi, Habibullah, Nunik Hariyani, Ruaida Murni, Heri Harjanto Setiawan, and Muhammad Yasin. Developed issues include action, social interaction, Pancasila, schools, methods, and technology, while potential issues for development include communication, public, tradition, and teaching. The limitations of this research lie in the data source, which only uses Crossref and limited analytical tools, so it is recommended that further research combine the Scopus or WoS databases with advanced bibliometric tools.
