Abstract

This qualitative case study investigated transformational leadership practices of school principals in improving learning quality at SMA Negeri 7 and SMA Negeri 2 Sorong Regency, Papua Barat Daya, Indonesia. Employing Bass and Avolio's four-dimensional framework, data were collected from 179 participants through semi-structured interviews, systematic observations, and document analysis over four months (September-December 2025). Data analysis followed Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña's interactive model with multiple validation strategies ensuring trustworthiness. Findings revealed comprehensive implementation of all transformational leadership dimensions—idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration—with contextual adaptations reflecting institutional maturity and local sociocultural realities. Principals demonstrated moral authority through personal commitment, articulated compelling visions motivating community engagement, fostered culturally-responsive pedagogical innovation despite resource constraints, and provided personalized support addressing teachers' contextual challenges. SMA Negeri 7 emphasized solidarity-building leadership through motivational and exemplary dimensions, while SMA Negeri 2 focused on capacity-enhancing leadership through intellectual stimulation and professional development. Both approaches yielded significant learning quality improvements evidenced by enhanced teacher performance, innovative teaching practices, and improved student outcomes including international competition success. The study extends transformational leadership theory by identifying context-specific mechanisms operating in peripheral educational settings, demonstrating that strategic leadership transforms environmental constraints into innovative opportunities. Findings inform policy development for principal preparation programs emphasizing contextually-grounded competencies essential for educational leadership in underserved regions.

Abstract

Maqasid Syariah allows us to apply the principles of Maqasid in investing, including investing in stocks. Stock indices have screening criteria that can be adjusted to comply with existing Maqasid Syariah principles. This research aimed to analyze how the ISSI, IDX ESG Leaders, IDX High Dividend, and IDX Sharia Growth stock indices can be utilized for investment in accordance with the five principles of maqashid shariah. This quantitative descriptive research used secondary data from financial report and IDX. The collected data then filtered using the Maqashid Sharia principles appropriate to each stock index. The stock then valued using the PER approach. The analysis results indicate that TLKM and UNVR stocks meet the criteria of the five maqashid shariah principles. Subsequently, these two stocks were evaluated using the Price to Earnings Ratio (PER) approach. The data used consists of Earnings Per Share (EPS) over the past eleven years and the annual average PER. The results reveal that TLKM is currently undervalued, whereas UNVR is overvalued. This study further demonstrates that investors can leverage these stock indices to invest in alignment with the five principles of maqashid shariah.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative study with an associative-causal (causal-comparative) approach, which aims to analyze the effect of income inequality on the Human Development Index (HDI), Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK), and fiscal independence in West Java Province during the 2018–2022 period. The data used in this study are quantitative, with a focus on measuring income inequality, the Human Development Index (HDI), the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK), and fiscal independence. The type of data used is secondary data that describes the economic and social conditions of a region during a certain period. The data collection technique in this study uses the documentation method, considering that the research is quantitative with secondary data. Based on the goodness-of-fit model test in Cities and Regencies in West Java province, it is proven that the determinant coefficient (R2) value in Regencies is 27.39 percent while the determinant coefficient value (R2) value in Cities is 87.78 percent. Therefore, it can be concluded that the determinant coefficient value (R2) in cities is higher than the determinant coefficient value in regencies. Based on the t-test, it can be seen that the labor force participation rate in both cities and regencies has a negative and significant effect on income inequality. While the labor force participation rate itself has a significant impact on income inequality in regencies and cities, fiscal independence is not sufficient to influence income inequality in regencies and cities in West Java Province. The results of the goodness-of-fit model (F-test) for regencies and cities indicate that simultaneously, the human development index, labor force participation rate, and fiscal independence influence income inequality in regencies and cities in West Java Province.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of teacher leadership and learning climate on learning quality at SMP Negeri 1 Sorong Regency, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative survey design, data were collected from 202 students through validated questionnaires (Cronbach's α > 0.80) and observational assessments of 41 teachers. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to examine both partial and simultaneous effects. Results revealed that teacher leadership significantly and positively influenced learning quality (β = 0.222, t = 3.962, p < 0.001), as did learning climate with substantially greater magnitude (β = 0.626, t = 11.113, p < 0.001). Simultaneously, both variables explained 63.9% of learning quality variance (R² = 0.639, F = 175.847, p < 0.001), with learning climate emerging as the dominant predictor. These findings demonstrate that while effective teacher leadership enhances learning quality through classroom management, motivational communication, and instructional guidance, learning climate exerts primary influence by providing psychologically safe, inclusive, and supportive environments essential for student engagement and achievement. The dominance of learning climate in Indonesia's multicultural educational context challenges Western-centric frameworks prioritizing leadership over environmental factors. Practical implications suggest educational stakeholders should prioritize climate enhancement initiatives while simultaneously strengthening teacher leadership capacities to optimize learning quality in diverse educational settings.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the capital market’s reaction to the announcement of the Sharia Business Unit (UUS) spin-off policy at PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk (BNGA) and PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BBTN), as well as to compare the market reaction patterns between the two issuers. This study employs a quantitative approach using the event study method. The market reaction is measured using abnormal returns calculated by the market model, with the Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) serving as a proxy for market returns. The observation period includes five days before and five days after the announcement date. The data used are in the form of daily closing stock prices, which are analyzed to obtain abnormal returns, average abnormal returns (AAR), and cumulative abnormal returns (CAR). The results of the study show that the spin-off announcements trigger different market reactions for each issuer. Shares of PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk (BNGA) exhibited a positive and statistically significant market reaction, while shares of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BBTN) exhibited a negative but not statistically significant reaction. These findings indicate that the capital market does not respond to spin-off policies uniformly, and that investor reactions are strongly influenced by the company’s internal preparedness as well as the clarity of managerial signals.

Abstract

Low back pain (LBP) is a prevalent musculoskeletal complaint during pregnancy, associated with physiological and biomechanical changes that limit daily activity. Structured physical activity and educational interventions have shown benefits in reducing pain and improving maternal attitudes toward exercise. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of physical activity education using a booklet on the incidence of LBP and attitudes towards physical activity among pregnant women. This quasi-experimental study employed a one-group pretest-post-test design without a control group. Participants included 33 pregnant women in the second and third trimesters attending a primary health centre in Bantul, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. A pretested questionnaire was used to collect data on the sociodemographic characteristics, the occurrence of low back pain, and the attitude towards physical activity during pregnancy. The intervention consisted of structured physical activity education using a handbook containing recommended prenatal exercises, ergonomic guidance, and safe practice tips, delivered over three weeks. Data were analysed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test with significance level α=0.05. A total of 29 respondents were included in the study. The median LBP score decreased from 5 to 2 post-intervention (Z = -4.737, p < 0.001). The proportion of participants with a positive attitude towards physical activity increased from 37.9% to 89.7% (Z = -3.638, p < 0.001). Physical activity education using a booklet effectively reduced the intensity of LBP and improved the physical activity attitudes of pregnant women. Integration of structured exercise education into antenatal care services is recommended to promote maternal comfort

Abstract

Background: Girls with mild intellectual disability experience persistent deficits in adaptive behavior, coping skills, and social integration, particularly during adolescence when psychosocial demands intensify. Despite this need, accessible, school-based psychological interventions remain limited. Given the risk of long-term social exclusion and reduced quality of life, identifying low-cost, inclusive strategies such as unified rhythmic activity is urgently required. Aims: This study evaluated the effects of rhythmic activity training and unified rhythmic activity training on psychological outcomes, adaptive behavior, and coping strategies for girls with MID, who participated alongside typically developing peers. Methods: A three-arm randomized controlled trial included 45 girls (10–14 years) with mild intellectual disability (IQ 50–70) in Coimbatore, India. Participants were assigned to rhythmic training, unified rhythmic training, or control groups. Interventions lasted 12 weeks (60 minutes, thrice weekly). Primary outcomes were adaptive behavior and coping strategies; secondary outcomes included self-efficacy, social competence, emotional regulation, quality of life, and behavioral problems. Analyses applied intention-to-treat, repeated measures ANOVA, and ANCOVA. Result: Significant within-group reductions were found for Irritability/Agitation in RATG and URATG (both p < 0.001), but not in CG (p = 0.64), with significant between-group differences (p < 0.001). Social Withdrawal improved in RATG (p = 0.003) and URATG (p < 0.001), not in CG (p = 0.81). Stereotypic Behavior and Hyperactivity decreased significantly in both intervention groups (p ≤ 0.009), but not in CG (p ≥ 0.75), with significant group effects (p < 0.001). Inappropriate Speech showed no within-group significance, though between-group differences were significant (p = 0.001). Conclusion: This study establishes that rhythmic and unified rhythmic interventions significantly enhance adaptive behavior and coping in girls with mild intellectual disability, with the unified model offering superior social benefits. It advances inclusive physical activity as a theoretically grounded, evidence-based approach and contributes robust experimental data supporting scalable, school-based psychosocial interventions.

Abstract

Educational leaders increasingly face complex professional pressures that demand not only managerial competence but also strong adaptive and emotional capacities. This study examines how internal and external factors contribute to principals’ resilience by integrating quantitative and qualitative evidence through a mixed-methods approach. Survey data were used to identify shared perceptions regarding resilience resources, while in-depth interviews explored how principals interpret challenges and sustain leadership effectiveness in practice. The findings reveal that resilience is shaped through the interaction between adaptive meaning-making, spiritual faith, and organizational support. Emotional regulation and a clear sense of professional purpose emerged as important internal resources, while collegial collaboration and family support functioned as reinforcing external mechanisms. Spiritual practices were found to play a significant role in stabilizing emotional responses and supporting reflective decision-making during demanding situations. Rather than operating as isolated factors, these elements interact dynamically to sustain leadership stability under pressure. The integration of quantitative and qualitative findings suggests that resilience should be understood as a relational–spiritual process embedded in everyday leadership experiences. The study highlights the importance of developing leadership support systems that integrate emotional, relational, and spiritual dimensions. These findings provide practical implications for leadership development programs by emphasizing holistic resilience training that strengthens emotional regulation, collaborative organizational culture, and value-based leadership practices to support sustainable educational leadership.
