Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the application of Augmented Reality (AR) in vocational education represents the principles of progressivism learning and to identify its pedagogical impacts, opportunities, and challenges. Using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) approach, sixteen relevant research articles published in Sinta 1 and Sinta 2 accredited journals between 2021 and 2025 were systematically reviewed. The findings indicate that AR implementation in vocational education strongly embodies progressivist principles by fostering experiential, student-centered, and technology-integrated learning. AR enhances conceptual understanding, practical skills, and learning motivation while promoting creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities aligned with Dewey’s learning by doing philosophy. Moreover, AR supports contextual and reflective learning environments that prepare students for industrial and technological realities. However, challenges remain in teacher digital competence, development costs, and limited infrastructure. Overall, AR serves as a progressive pedagogical innovation that bridges theory and practice in vocational education, and its transformative potential can be fully realized through systemic readiness, institutional support, and equitable access to digital technology.

Abstract

Abstract: The rapid transformation of the automotive industry towards digitalization and electric vehicles requires vocational graduates to have new competencies as well as a clear career path based on self-concept. However, students' unpreparedness in determining their specialization and the mismatch between their competencies and the needs of the EV industry make the development of a career guidance model even more important. This study aims to analyze the relevance of Super's career development theory in specialization guidance in the Automotive Engineering Vocational Program and to formulate a Self-concept-based career guidance model that is adaptive to the demands of electric vehicle technology. For this purpose, an analytical-philosophical literature review was conducted, examining 35 scientific articles and primary literature on Super's theory. The results show that the stages of career exploration, crystallization, specification, and implementation in Super's theory are in line with the process of forming EV competencies such as BMS, HV safety, electric motors, and digital diagnostics. Another important finding is that technical self-concept is formed through direct learning experiences and guided reflection, so career guidance needs to integrate self-assessment, exploration, workshops, and field experience. The study concludes that Super's theory is relevant as a foundation for vocational career guidance in the era of electrification and recommends the development of a curriculum that emphasizes career exploration and empirical research to test the effectiveness of the model.Keyword: Vocational Career; Super Theory; Electric Vehicles; Self-Concept; Career Guidance. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to understand how humans perceive their existence amid the dominance of information technology in the digital era. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using in-depth interviews and observations with five informants, including a philosophy lecturer, IT practitioner, digital literacy activist, philosophy student, and social psychologist. The findings reveal that information technology has created a new form of existence, where human presence is defined not only physically but also digitally. The dominance of technology reshapes thinking patterns, social behavior, and human values, leading to a modern crisis of humanity. Nevertheless, humans retain reflective capacity to redefine their relationship with technology. Critical awareness, digital ethics, and balance between the real and virtual worlds are essential to preserve existential values so that technology remains a tool rather than the ruler of human life. Keyword: philosophy of technology; human existence; information technology; digital era; humanity. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to provide a comprehensive philosophical justification for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) by examining how ontological, epistemological, and axiological foundations can strengthen its role in the modern era. This study addresses growing concerns that TVET is increasingly dominated by a market-driven instrumental paradigm that neglects its humanistic, reflective, and ethical dimensions. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted following the PRISMA protocol. This review synthesized 34 Scopus-indexed journal articles published between 2020 and 2025, identified through Boolean-based keyword searches focusing on philosophical, conceptual, and theoretical perspectives in TVET. The selected studies were analyzed using qualitative thematic analysis to explore the philosophical justifications and their implications for TVET. This review reveals an intense philosophical urgency in redefining TVET amid rapid digitalization, Industry 4.0 demands, social inequality, and widening skill gaps. The philosophical foundations collectively shift TVET from a mechanistic skills training model to a holistic human development system. A philosophical approach contributes to character building, work ethic, and social awareness through virtue ethics, practical wisdom (phronesis), and spiritual workability. This study presents a comprehensive philosophical framework for reevaluating the essence and direction of TVET. By integrating ontology, epistemology, and axiology, this research offers a new conceptual lens to strengthen TVET as a transformative, humanistic, and socially responsive education system. Keywords: Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET); Philosophy of education; Vocational knowledge; Ethical competence; Systematic Literature Review Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pembenaran filosofis yang komprehensif untuk Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Teknis dan Kejuruan (TVET) dengan mengkaji bagaimana landasan ontologis, epistemologis, dan aksiologis dapat memperkuat perannya di era modern. Abstract

Abstract: This study examines the implementation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in improving students’ employability in Indonesian Vocational High Schools (SMK). The analysis focuses on four operational components: institutional management, workshop organization, training approaches, and industry-based curriculum practices. The research background highlights the persistent mismatch between the expected role of SMK as producers of skilled workers and the low employment rate of their graduates. Using a qualitative case study in selected SMK, the findings reveal that improving work readiness depends not only on teaching competencies but also on the effectiveness of operational systems in these four areas. The results show that institutional governance largely shapes industrial collaboration, instructional quality, and evaluation systems aligned with labor market demands. Industry-standard workshops significantly strengthen students’ technical skills through practical activities using relevant tools and procedures. Training models such as project-based learning, teaching factory, and internships enhance practical competencies and work attitudes. Meanwhile, flexible and collaborative curricula improve the relevance of graduate skills to industry needs. Keyword: TVET, SMK, kesiapan kerja, workshop kejuruan, kurikulum industri, pelatihan vokasi Abstrak: Penelitian ini mengkaji penerapan Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) dalam meningkatkan kesiapan kerja peserta didik di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) di Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract: The rapid development of digital technology has brought significant transformation to the philosophy of automotive education, particularly in its traditional learning and teaching approaches that previously relied on manual skills. This study aims to analyze the shift in automotive education from the perspective of multivariate educational philosophy, which integrates technical competencies, digital literacy, problem-solving abilities, and an understanding of electronic vehicle systems. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations involving automotive teachers, workshop instructors, program coordinators, industry technicians, and students. The findings reveal that digital tools—such as vehicle scanners, simulation software, animated videos, and e-learning modules—not only enhance learning methods but also shift the learning paradigm toward more analytical and data-driven processes. The role of teachers has also evolved significantly, from mere transmitters of information to facilitators, mentors, and digital analysts. The integration of industry technology into classroom and workshop learning increases students’ job readiness and reduces the skills gap between vocational schools and professional workshops. Therefore, automotive education in the digital era requires a philosophical reconstruction to align with multivariate competence demands, curriculum relevance, and the technological needs of the modern automotive industry. Abstract

This article systematically reviews how Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) curricula can be dynamically adjusted through industry-demand data, labor market intelligence, and stakeholder feedback mechanisms. The review was prepared from the provided article outline, the PRISMA 2020 flow material, and a Scopus export containing an initial corpus of 516 records and seven studies included in the qualitative synthesis. The analysis focuses on four themes: data-driven curriculum models, the role of Labor Market Information Systems (LMIS), TVET–industry collaboration mechanisms, and dynamic curriculum adjustment models. The synthesis shows that adaptive TVET curricula are being shaped through three major pathways: job-vacancy analytics, indicator-based and statistical curriculum optimization, and stakeholder-driven curriculum reconstruction. Available evidence suggests that these approaches improve the relevance of learning outcomes, update module priorities, and strengthen the alignment between practical learning and actual workplace requirements. At the same time, the literature reveals persistent limitations, including uneven data integration, the dominance of conceptual or simulation-based evidence, and the lack of longitudinal employability evaluation. This review argues that TVET reform should move beyond conventional outcome-based education and be redesigned as an adaptive system connecting labor market data, agile curriculum governance, and intensive industry collaboration.

Abstract

The relevance of Indonesian Vocational High Schools (SMK) curriculum in the Tourism Service Business (Usaha Layanan Wisata/ULW) concentration a new nomenclature replacing the Tourism Travel Business (UPW) designation under the Merdeka Curriculum remains a critical challenge. With graduate employment rates at 58.3%, systemic competency gaps are evident. No integrative systematic review has examined all three curriculum development stages design, implementation, and evaluation specifically for the ULW concentration. This study: (1) maps ULW curriculum design practices within the link and match framework; (2) identifies critical implementation factors; and (3) examines effective evaluation models. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following PRISMA 2020 protocol was conducted across five databases (Scopus, ERIC, SINTA, Garuda, Google Scholar supplementary) for 2014-2024. From 389 identified records, 42 articles met inclusion criteria and were analyzed using thematic synthesis, with inter rater reliability assessed by Cohen's Kappa (κ = 0.81). Findings reveal: (1) ULW curriculum design is dominated by top down approaches with ceremonial industry involvement, producing a 34% competency gap against SKKNI standards; (2) implementation faces structural barriers including teacher industry competency gaps (61.5% without prior industry experience) and largely symbolic teaching factory implementation; and (3) curriculum evaluation remains administrative summative without data driven continuous improvement. Based on this systematic synthesis, this article proposes the DUDI PDCA Curriculum Framework positioning industry partners as active co-developers across all PDCA cycle stages as a grounded conceptual contribution to Indonesian vocational tourism education.

Abstract

The evolution of digital technology has prompted a significant transformation in higher education, particularly within the Informatics Engineering curriculum. In this landscape, blended learning has surfaced as a vital strategic method, combining traditional face-to-face teaching with online learning to boost flexibility, effectiveness, and student engagement. This research utilizes a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and bibliometric analysis to map the trends and research focus of blended learning. Data was gathered from Google Scholar for publications from 2021 onward, using specific keywords. An initial pool of 1,850 articles was refined through a PRISMA-based screening process, resulting in 33 highly relevant articles for detailed analysis. The findings show that publication activity was highest in 2021, with major contributions from the United Kingdom, Indonesia, and the United States. Key themes identified in the literature include the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS), the flipped classroom model, and project-based learning. The evidence consistently suggests that blended learning improves educational outcomes, increases student motivation, and fosters essential 21st-century skills. However, challenges such as insufficient infrastructure and the need for enhanced educator competency remain. This paper recommends strengthening institutional policies and providing faculty training to support the successful and sustainable implementation of blended learning, especially in technology and vocational education.
