Abstract

Abstract: Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) plays a crucial role in bridging the needs of the industrial world with the goals of sustainable human development. Within the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4.7 on Education for Sustainable Development, this study revisits the philosophy of TVET through three dimensions: realism, heart, and logic. The research aims to uncover the philosophical foundations of TVET within the SDG framework by tracing classical German thought (Kerschensteiner, Spranger, Fischer) alongside modern paradigms rooted in technology, vocational psychology, and educational sustainability. The method employed is an integrative bibliometric-based literature analysis of 1,041 Scopus-indexed articles (20152024), combined with a philosophical review of five major sources from Germany, the United Kingdom, China, and Indonesia. The findings reveal four key insights: (1) Educational realism emphasizes contextual and meaningful work competencies; (2) The dimension of heart highlights moral values, humanity, and psychological well-being within the TVET system; (3) Educational logic is reflected in technology-based curricula that integrate knowledge, skills, and values; and (4) The integration of SDGs fosters ecological awareness and social responsibility. TVET is thus conceptualized as a philosophical system that unites work reality, humanity, and scientific rationality toward a sustainable vocational curriculum for the 21st century.Keyword: Philosophy of TVET; SDGs; vocational ethics; vocational psychology; educational sustainabilityAbstrak: Pendidikan Teknik dan Kejuruan (TVET) berperan penting dalam menjembatani kebutuhan dunia industri dengan tujuan pembangunan manusia berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The Learning Meaning Crisis Among Generation Z in Vocational High Schools: A Systematic Review from the Perspective of Philosophy of Education  The rapid expansion of digital culture has reshaped the thinking patterns, behaviors, and learning styles of Generation Z, including students in vocational high schools. These changes have led to a learning-meaning crisis, in which students struggle to connect the learning process with personal values or future career goals. This study analyzes the underlying factors of this crisis using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) guided by the PRISMA 2020 protocol, based on 72 internationally indexed articles published between 2012 and 2024. The analysis maps empirical findings related to digital learning behaviors, the relevance of vocational education, shifts in vocational values, and the influence of digital culture on students’ meaning-making processes. Five key themes were identified: changes in learning behavior driven by digital exposure, the diminishing sense of meaning in vocational learning, the weakening of vocational identity, psychological pressures within digital culture, and the relevance of educational philosophies particularly existentialism, humanism, and pragmatism in explaining these phenomena. The study concludes that vocational education requires a pedagogical reorientation toward more reflective, humanistic, and experience-based approaches to help Generation Z reconstruct a more meaningful learning experience..

Abstract

Social media has become an integral part of daily life, but its intensive use also increases users’ exposure to various cybersecurity threats, making it important to understand the determinants of cybersecurity behavior. This study examines the effects of cybersecurity knowledge and social media usage intensity on cybersecurity behavior, as well as the role of cybersecurity self-efficacy as both a direct predictor and a moderating variable. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey of 115 university students who actively use social media, and the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that cybersecurity knowledge has a positive and significant effect on cybersecurity behavior (β = 0.309, t = 3.383, p < 0.01), while cybersecurity self-efficacy emerges as the strongest predictor of cybersecurity behavior (β = 0.479, t = 4.725, p < 0.001). In contrast, social media usage intensity does not show a significant effect on cybersecurity behavior (β = 0.003, t = 0.032, p > 0.05). Furthermore, moderation analysis reveals that cybersecurity self-efficacy does not moderate the relationships between cybersecurity knowledge or social media usage intensity and cybersecurity behavior. The structural model explains 58.3% of the variance in cybersecurity behavior (R² = 0.583). These findings suggest that cybersecurity behavior among social media users is more strongly driven by cognitive and psychological factors than by usage intensity alone. Practically, effective cybersecurity interventions should prioritize strengthening users’ cybersecurity knowledge and self-efficacy rather than merely restricting social media use. Keywords— Cybersecurity behavior; Cybersecurity knowledge; Self-efficacy; Social media usage intensity; SEM-PLS

Abstract

The digital era has changed the fundamentals of Technology and Vocational Education (PTK) around the world. This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) analyzes the transformation of PTK in the 2020-2025 period by synthesizing more than 80 academic sources. This study uses the PRISMA method to identify, select, and analyze relevant literature. The results of the study identified three main pillars of the transformation of PTK in the digital era: (1) TVET 4.0 conceptual framework that integrates cyber-physical systems, IoT, and AI technology; (2) The implementation of digital technologies such as VR, AR, and blended learning with varying effectiveness based on the learning context; (3) Development of digital competencies of teachers and students through frameworks such as DigCompEdu and UNESCO ICT CFT. The findings show that VR is effective for psychomotor skills (effect size g=0.85), but implementation faces challenges of infrastructure, teacher readiness, and digital divide. Link and match with Industry 4.0/5.0 demands a curriculum transformation that is responsive to the needs of 30-40% of employees who need reskilling. Case studies from Singapore, Germany, China, Indonesia, and Africa show a wide range of approaches and success rates. This study identified research gaps in methodology (qualitative dominance of 71%), limitations of longitudinal studies, and geographical disparities. Recommendations include strengthening empirical research, developing a specific digital competency framework for PTK, and policies that prioritize a people-first approach in digitalization. Keywords: Technology and Vocational Education, TVET, Digital Era, Industry 4.0, Digital Competence, Systematic Literature Review

Abstract

Industrial Democracy and Vocational Education in Building a Participatory Culture and Social Justice in the World of Work Abstract This research examines the integration of the concept of Industrial Democracy (ID) into Indonesian vocational education to address the limitations of the overly instrumental link and match approach. While the link and match model successfully produces technically competent graduates, it fails to equip them with socio-political competencies (such as awareness of workers' rights, negotiation skills, and understanding of industrial relations), rendering graduates vulnerable and limiting their participation in workplace decision-making. The ID concept, which emphasizes the principles of equality, accountability, and power-sharing, has proven effective in fostering ownership and improving the quality of organizational decisions. Therefore, the study focuses on how to integrate socio-political competencies including negotiation abilities and participatory awareness into vocational learning without neglecting technical skills. The strategic solution is realized through three main pillars: curriculum integration, industry collaboration, and policy support This research argues that ID-oriented vocational education not only enhances the relevance of graduates to the challenges of modern industry and digitalization but also directly impact the social welfare of workers.

Abstract

Models of Link and Match Implementation Between Vocational High Schools and the Industrial World: A Systematic Literature Review This research is motivated by the competency gap between Vocational High School (SMK) graduates and the needs of the Business and Industry World (DUDI), which is reflected in the high unemployment rate of graduates and the low relevance of skills to job market demands. This study aims to identify and analyze the implementation model of the Link and Match policy in SMK as a strategy to align graduate competency standards with DUDI needs. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 15 relevant studies published in national journals. The SLR stages include formulating research questions, determining inclusion and exclusion criteria, data extraction, and synthesizing findings. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of Link and Match is carried out through various models, including Competency-Based Training (CBT), Teaching Factory (TeFa), Industrial Classes, IDUKA partnerships, and the 8+i concept at SMK Centers of Excellence. In general, these models are effective in improving technical competency, work readiness, graduate absorption, and curriculum alignment with industry standards. The success of implementation is influenced by systematic program management, support from industry partners, the quality of teacher training, and continuous evaluation based on the CIPP model. Theoretically, this study adds to the conceptual understanding of the SMK–DUDI collaboration model in the context of vocational education in Indonesia.
