Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of increasing capital adequacy, high liquidity levels, and enhanced cost efficiency on the profitability of National Private Banks and Foreign Banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. There are three main problems faced by banks today. First, the management of credit distribution remains inadequate, which has the potential to increase the risk of bad debt. Second, the burden of regulation requires banks to set aside capital for additional bank capital reserves. Third, the entry of foreign banks into Indonesia is increasing, thereby tightening competition. These three problems will impact the condition of banking performance if improvements are not made in managing assets, credit, and costs by taking a sample of specific criteria from 20 banks using data from the period 2017 to 2023. This type of research is Quantitative. The variables used by researchers include Capital Adequacy, Liquidity, Cost Efficiency, and Profitability. The sample in this study is National Private Banks and Foreign Banks Listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The data used in this study are secondary data collected using a documentation data collection method. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression. The results of this study show that (1) Capital Adequacy, Liquidity, and Cost Efficiency together have a positive and significant effect on profitability, (2) Capital Adequacy has no significant effect on profitability, Liquidity has no significant effect on profitability, and Cost Efficiency does not have a significant effect on profitability

Abstract

This study investigates the persistently low compliance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with halal certification, despite its critical role in safeguarding the five essential objectives of Islamic law (ad-dharuriyyah al-khamsah): religion (dīn), life (nafs), intellect (‘aql), lineage (nasl), and property (māl). Employing a qualitative research design, this study utilizes a descriptive-analytical approach supported by thematic content analysis. Data were collected through a systematic literature review, including primary Islamic sources (Qur’an, Hadis, and classical jurisprudence) and relevant secondary literature (peer-reviewed journals, regulations, and government reports). The findings were categorized based on the maqāṣid al-shari'ah framework to ensure a structured and normative analysis. The results reveal that halal certification serves as a multidimensional protection mechanism, with the preservation of life (ḥifẓ al-nafs) identified as the most urgent priority. This emphasis stems from product consumption's direct psychological and ethical implications on human well-being. By elevating ḥifẓ al-nafs above traditional priorities such as ḥifẓ al-dīn, the study offers a contextual reinterpretation aligned with contemporary public health and ethical standards. Moreover, this research fills a notable gap in the literature by explicitly linking halal certification to the comprehensive structure of ad-dharuriyyah al-khamsah, a dimension often overlooked in previous studies. Policy recommendations include financial incentives, awareness campaigns, streamlined regulations, and stakeholder collaboration, highlighting the dual role of halal certification as both a religious obligation and a vehicle for public welfare.

Abstract

This study explores the development of computational thinking (CT) skills in early childhood through unplugged coding activities, focusing on the perspectives of teachers as observers and facilitators. Using an assessment instrument centered on four core CT components such as decomposition, algorithmic thinking, pattern recognition, and abstraction, the research was conducted with children aged 5–6 years engaging in a fruit skewer-making activity. The results demonstrate a strong alignment between assessment findings and teacher observations. Children showed progress in following procedural steps, recognizing and replicating patterns, breaking down tasks, and abstracting essential information. Teachers reported increased motivation, confidence, and problem-solving abilities among the children. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating unplugged coding into early childhood curricula and highlight the crucial role of teachers in creating supportive learning environments. The study suggests that teacher insights are essential for bridging theory and practice in CT education and recommends institutional support for resources and training to sustain effective implementation.
