Abstract

This research aims to: Assess the literacy activities performance among Muhammadiyah members, and explore opportunities to enhance literacy culture within the Muhammadiyah community based on experiences and initiatives across various regions. The significance of this research lies in the stagnant interest in reading in Indonesia, which has remained at 0.001 percent since 2006. Despite being an integral part of Indonesia, research data indicates a relatively low interest in reading among Muhammadiyah members. Paradoxically, the founders and many leaders of Muhammadiyah have shown exceptional literacy performance. This study employs a qualitative approach utilizing literature review methodology. Data sources and analysis materials are drawn from reliable scholarly literature and books. The findings suggest that, particularly within Muhammadiyah, there is optimism that literacy activities can be effectively maintained. Various strategies can be adopted for this purpose, such as organizing Literacy Training for its members.

Abstract

This article examines collaboration as a core value in Islamic education, focusing on the partnership between two funeral organizations: the Muhammadiyah Branch Leadership Muslim Corpse Association (RKM PCM Palangkaraya) and the Shalahuddin Muslim Family Association (KKM Shalahuddin), which is affiliated with the University of Palangkaraya. The study utilizes a qualitative multi-case research approach to analyze the nature of cooperation, motivations, benefits, obstacles, and challenges in the kifayah process between the two families. Data collection methods included interviews with organizational administrators, observations of the kifayah process, and analysis of organizational charter documents and membership fees. The findings revealed a clear division of responsibilities: RKM PCM Palangkaraya oversees the rituals of washing and praying for the deceased, while KKM Shalahuddin provides equipment and coordinates the burial. This collaboration is vital for ensuring that the burial aligns with Islamic law, despite facing challenges such as communication barriers and funding limitations. The partnership enhances service delivery and nurtures mutual respect between the organizations. However, the lack of prior discussions regarding tahlil practices may create confusion about roles and responsibilities. The study underscores the importance of incorporating effective communication and mutual understanding into educational curricula, allowing students to grasp the values of cooperation and the principles of corpse management in Islam. This knowledge ultimately fosters character development and community skills, highlighting education's role in addressing societal needs within an Islamic framework. Future research is recommended to further investigate tahlil practices in this collaborative context to clarify the roles and responsibilities of each organization.

Abstract

Abstract Teachers have an important role in education, especially in Islamic Education (PAI), where they encourage students to apply religious values in everyday life. This role is evident in their efforts to enhance students' spiritual intelligence, which aids them in facing life's challenges and improving their morality. This study aims to examine the role and steps taken by PAI teachers in improving the spiritual intelligence of students at MI Muhamadiyah 1 Probolinggo City. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the curriculum vice principal, PAI teachers, and students. The findings indicated that PAI teachers enhance spiritual intelligence through activities like congregational prayers, lectures, and the SQ program. Strategies such as the honesty canteen and the introduction of religious values help students understand the meaning of life and develop morals. The teachers help with worship practice and create a fun learning environment.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the role of Aisyiyah in early childhood education (PAUD) and efforts to instill Islamic values from an early age in Indonesia through a qualitative approach using the case study method. The research focuses on PAUD institutions' management, curriculum development, and the teaching methods applied. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation at several Aisyiyah PAUD institutions in various regions in Indonesia. The research results show that Aisyiyah focuses on cognitive aspects and integrates character education and Islamic values into the curriculum. An Islamic and conducive learning environment is also created to support learning. This research also highlights the challenges Aisyiyah faces in implementing Islamic education in the modern era, such as limited resources and the influence of modern technology. Nevertheless, Aisyiyah overcame this challenge through various educational and social programs that strengthened her commitment to community development and education based on Islamic values. This research's findings can significantly contribute to developing Islamic-based early childhood education in Indonesia. Islamic religious education, starting from an early age, has a crucial role in shaping children's character and morals, ensuring they grow into individuals with strong moral and spiritual integrity.

Abstract

Social development becomes an inevitable reality in the dynamics of social life. The social transformation that occurs in society certainly influences Islamic law as a system of social norms that are directly related to human behavior. This article aims to conduct a literature-based analysis, exploring manhaj tarjih and tajdid in the Muhammadiyah tradition as a basis for developing thinking. Islamic studies at Muhammadiyah are not only limited to the framework of religious studies, but also as a process of understanding Islam as a whole, with the aim of bringing Islam as a blessing for all of nature (rahmatan lil alamin). This approach is not limited to the conceptual realm, but rather focuses on real applications, in accordance with the philosophical principles of baldatun toyyibatun wa rabbun ghofur. Using a historical analysis approach, the author assesses that Muhammadiyah's ijtihad method in responding to social change is dynamic and progressive, adopting and developing three approaches, namely bayani, tahlili, and istislahi.

Abstract

The author focuses on analyzing the Jigsaw learning method in class VII SKI subjects at MTsN 6 Nganjuk. This writing aims to analyze the implementation of learning using the Jigsaw method, how this method can have an effect on student interaction, student activity in learning, and the difference in receiving material in SKI subjects. This writing uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Information obtained from observations, then interviews, and analysis of learning outcomes. The results obtained from the Jigsaw method analysis had a very drastic effect on increasing student activity. They are more enthusiastic, active, and able to work together in groups. Then this method increases students' activeness and self-confidence when appearing in front of the class. Although there are advantages, this research identifies a problem, namely the limited time which can reduce the overall application of the method. Some students like learning in groups to interact and exchange knowledge with other friends. However, some students experience challenges in understanding the material and they do not feel comfortable when explaining the material in front of the class. The conclusion is that the Jigsaw learning method provides positive things to increase active student interaction, involvement and increase self-confidence in SKI learning. The implication of this research is the need for plans that are ready and supported by teachers that can help to successfully analyze the Jigsaw method in the context of SKI learning at MTs level.
