Abstract

This study aims to detect motorcycle rider attributes, specifically helmets and side mirrors, using a deep learning approach combining YOLOv11 and ESRGAN models. The proposed model addresses challenges in attribute detection under real-world conditions, such as low-resolution images, varying angles, and uneven lighting. The dataset comprises images of motorcycle riders captured by surveillance cameras (CCTV), which underwent preprocessing, augmentation, and resolution enhancement using ESRGAN to improve input quality. The results demonstrate that ESRGAN significantly enhances the performance of YOLOv11, particularly for high-resolution images. The YOLOv11 + ESRGAN model with 300 epochs achieved the best performance, with precision of 75.8%, recall of 69.1%, and an F1-score of 0.7 during testing. During validation, the model reached a precision of 0.826 and recall of 0.797, indicating good generalization capabilities. Compared to the YOLOv11 model without ESRGAN, this combination significantly improved accuracy, especially in detecting small attributes such as side mirrors. This study suggests further exploration with larger and more diverse datasets and fine-tuning to enhance detection accuracy. Additionally, integrating the model into real-world systems based on edge computing can accelerate real-time inference and reduce reliance on cloud-based servers. With broader implementation, this model has the potential to improve the efficiency and safety of AI-powered traffic monitoring systems.

Abstract

Digitalization can threaten social capital because technology reduces direct interaction and opportunities for deliberation, leading to increased individualism. This study aims to explore the role of deliberation in strengthening social capital in Karya Tani Village, Kempas District, Indragiri Hilir Regency. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing both primary and secondary data sources. Primary data is obtained through observations and structured in-depth interviews with informants, while secondary data is gathered from relevant literature and documents. The findings reveal that deliberation in Karya Tani Village functions not only as a decision-making tool but also as a mechanism for building social networks, trust, as well as shared norms and values within the community. This process creates an inclusive social climate where every voice is valued, reducing the potential for conflict and strengthening community relationships. Keywords: Deliberation, Social Capital, Strengthening

Abstract

Abstract

Rapid urbanization and the advancement of smart city programs in Indonesia necessitate intelligent, automated solutions for traffic monitoring and law enforcement. This study introduces EagleEyes, an artificial intelligence–based framework designed for automatic detection of multiple traffic violations by integrating the YOLOv8 deep learning architecture with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for vehicle license plate identification. YOLOv8 was selected due to its anchor-free design, decoupled detection head, and enhanced feature fusion modules, which collectively improve detection accuracy, convergence speed, and small-object recognition compared to YOLOv5 and YOLOv7, while maintaining lightweight computational efficiency suitable for real-time applications. The proposed system was trained on a multi-class dataset representing common Indonesian violations, including seat belt non-compliance, helmet absence, motorcycle overcapacity, and unreadable license plates. Experimental results demonstrate robust performance, achieving a precision of 0.91, recall of 0.92, and mean average precision (mAP@0.5) of 0.96 at the optimal epoch, with an average inference speed of 25 frames per second and total training time of approximately 15 minutes on an NVIDIA RTX GPU. The OCR module attained an average recognition accuracy of 98.7%, although its performance decreased for vehicles captured beyond a five-meter distance due to reduced clarity and illumination inconsistencies. Implemented as a web-based application using the Flask framework, EagleEyes enables flexible browser-based visualization, and can be seamlessly integrated into Indonesia’s Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) infrastructure. Overall, the system demonstrates high potential to enhance smart city traffic management through scalable, AI-driven, and ethically responsible automation.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of dzikr (Islamic devotional acts) using the Mind Healing Technique (MHT) approach in improving the learning concentration of female foster children at Al-Falah Yasmuba Orphanage. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest single group approach. Participants consisted of 34 female foster children aged 12-19 years who were given MHT dhikr intervention for 4 weeks, 3 times a week, with a duration of 20-30 minutes per session. Data was collected through observation, questionnaires, and interviews, then analyzed using parametric statistical tests (paired t-test) with SPSS 30. The results showed a significant increase in the average learning concentration score from 104.65 (pretest) to 116.15 (posttest), with an increase of 11.50 points (p < 0.001). The large effect of the intervention (Cohen's d = 0.943) indicates that MHT dhikr is effective in improving learning concentration. Therefore, it can be concluded that dhikr with the MHT approach can be an effective intervention to improve learning concentration, especially in orphanage environments. It is recommended that this technique be integrated into learning programs and further research be conducted with more complex designs to test the generalization of findings.
