Abstract

Menarche's first menstruation requires careful planning and information assistance. Knowledge about menstrual pain will make young women ready to face menarche. The research aimed to determine the relationship between the level of pain knowledge and the readiness of young women to face menarche in class VII, and VIII students at Saumlaki Seminary Middle School. The research used a cross-sectional design with purposive sampling totaling 30 respondents. Questionnaires were used to collect data on knowledge of menstrual pain, readiness to face menstruation, and the Chi-Square statistical test for data analysis. The results of the research were that there was a relationship between the level of knowledge of menstrual pain and the readiness of young women to face menarche in class VII, and VIII students at Saumlaki Seminary Middle School (P-value = 0.001). The contingency coefficient value of -0.554 is interpreted as sufficient correlation strength. The conclusion is that the lower the level of knowledge about menstrual pain, the higher the adolescent's unpreparedness for facing menarche. Abstract

This study examines food security in Majene, West Sulawesi, following the 2021 earthquake, focusing on food availability, consumption, and dietary patterns. The research utilizes a descriptive qualitative approach and relies on secondary data from the Food Security Service Office of the Majene Regency. The data are supplemented by information from the Central Statistics Agency and interviews with informants. The findings reveal that the primary nutritional parameters—energy, protein, and fat—are adequately met. The availability of energy from vegetable sources exceeds the recommended 984 kcal/capita/day. Protein availability, mainly from animal sources, meets the 63 grams/capita/day guideline. Fat availability, primarily from vegetable fats, also aligns with the recommended 72.17 grams/capita/day. During the earthquake, food supplies, which included 11 staple types, were sufficient, evidenced by available quantities surpassing consumption levels. For instance, rice availability stood at 29,277 tons against a consumption level of 20,084.70 tons. The study also assesses dietary patterns, finding that grains, oils, fats, oily fruits/seeds, sugars, and vegetables meet desirable dietary scores, while tubers, animal products, and legumes fall short.

Abstract

Playing origami is an activity of folding paper into a shape or picture by moving the hands while thinking. The purpose of this Community Service Activity is to provide a solution to the problems faced by school-age children through origami play therapy to improve children's fine motor skills. The method of this activity is an intervention in origami play therapy on the development of children's mental health, emotions, and behavior. The results of the implementation of Community Service activities, play therapy for children, went well and smoothly. The conclusion is that Community Service activities show that there is an increase in knowledge of new creations made by children and increase their insight into creativity in playing.

Abstract

Efforts to reduce the population growth rate are to control the birth rate through family planning programs. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the characteristics of new family planning acceptors and the use of Selected Effective Contraceptive Methods. This study is descriptive-analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The number of samples in this study was 49 samples. The sampling technique used was total sampling—research data analysis using Chi Square analysis and Odd Ratio. The results showed a relationship between age and contraceptive use of contraceptives Non Selected Effective Methods p value 0.002 and OR = 10.875. There is a relationship between parity and the use of Non-Effective Contraceptive Methods Selected p value 0.043 and OR = 5.667. There is no relationship between education and the use of Selected Effective Contraceptive Methods, with a p-value of 0.210 and OR=0.387. All parties are expected to improve, understand, and provide counseling on the use of non-MKET family planning so that each acceptor can choose the right type of family planning.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has influenced nearly all aspects of life, including early childhood education. However, at this level, digital literacy is often perceived merely as using electronic devices without understanding how to learn and interact responsibly in digital spaces. This community service activity aimed to enhance digital literacy among early childhood learners in Alam Barajo District, Jambi City, through technology-based interactive learning. The implementation involved teacher training and direct assistance for children using digital media such as educational videos, interactive applications, and age-appropriate online games. Evaluation was conducted through observation and interviews with teachers and parents to assess improvements in children’s digital understanding and behavior. The results showed greater enthusiasm for learning, improved digital skills (recognizing icons, colors, letters, and sounds), and increased awareness among teachers and parents about the importance of guided digital use. This initiative serves as a model for strengthening early childhood digital literacy in Jambi City.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the utilization of Islamic fintech contributes to the economic transformation of rural women’s households. The research is grounded in the reality that rural women often face limited access to formal financial services due to geographical barriers, low financial literacy, and minimal asset ownership, making Islamic fintech a potentially inclusive solution aligned with their religious values. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving women who have used Islamic fintech for at least one year, supported by additional informants, and utilizing in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation techniques. The findings reveal that Islamic fintech provides easier and faster access to financing through digital processes without complex administrative requirements, enabling women to obtain capital for developing micro-enterprises. Furthermore, digital features such as transaction recording, payment reminders, and budgeting tools encourage positive changes in household financial management and enhance women's financial literacy. The study also identifies socio-economic impacts, including increased autonomy, roles, and contributions of women in household economic decision-making, despite existing challenges related to digital literacy and limited internet infrastructure. Overall, the results highlight that Islamic fintech serves as a strategic instrument capable of strengthening the economic capacity of rural women and supporting the sustainable transformation of household economies.

Abstract

Computational thinking is becoming one of the most important skills in the 21st century. Computational thinking skills are not only about computer science but also about problem-solving skills, so they should be trained and mastered by every individual. Computational thinking has become a popular skill in education, where educators are also required to possess this skill as an indicator of teachers who are able to adapt to the era of educational reform and prepare a generation to face future challenges. This ability can be measured through aspects of abstraction, decomposition, algorithms, evaluation, and generalization. This training involved kindergarten teachers in Kerinci Regency, with the aim of improving computational thinking skills for the era of coding learning in early childhood education (PAUD).

Abstract

Cervical cancer is a disease that occurs in the internal genitalia of women, specifically the cervix or the outer surface layer of the cervix/epithelium. Cervical cancer is caused by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), with the most commonly identified HPV types 16 and 18. Early detection of cervical cancer can be performed with the VIA test, and Pap smear, but the public is generally reluctant to undergo cervical cancer screening due to a lack of knowledge among women, and their families about cervical cancer. The purpose of this outreach activity was to provide participants with knowledge about cervical cancer and how to detect it early. The outreach method used lectures, using material presented in PowerPoint and leaflets. The activity was conducted in 2023 with 38 fertile couples and women of childbearing age participating at the Lermatang Community Health Center (Pustu Lermatang) in the working area of ​​the Saumlaki Community Health Center, Tanimbar Islands Regency. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge of 68.4%. In conclusion, this increase in participant knowledge can serve as a starting point for improving knowledge and willingness to undergo cervical cancer screening with the VIA examination

Abstract

One of the preparations for childbirth is preparing a Maternal and Child Health Book (KIA) document. However, many pregnant women still do not have and do not use the KIA book. The results of the 2023 SDKI showed that 13.8% had owned and 5% had never owned a KIA book. The KIA book contains health information for mothers from pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and continues to record the health of newborns until the age of 6 years. The aim was to determine the overview of the use of the KIA book by pregnant women in preparing for childbirth in Latdalam Village, Tanimbar Islands Regency. The research method was quantitative with a descriptive research design. The activity was carried out in Latdalam Village in February 2024. The sample taken was a total population of 23 pregnant women. The instrument used a questionnaire. Data analysis used univariate analysis. The results showed that 95.65% of pregnant women did not have a KIA book, 100% of pregnant women did not use the KIA book in preparing for childbirth, and there was an increase in knowledge of 43.48% after being provided with counseling. Optimizing the use of the KIA book by pregnant women in preparing for childbirth is very effective.

Abstract

Seaweed is a leading commodity in the fisheries sector that has not been optimally utilized, particularly by community groups, to increase its added value. The problem faced by these groups is a lack of knowledge and skills in processing and selling seaweed-based products. This activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of "Julu Atia" partners in the production and marketing of seaweed nuggets. The method used was to directly involve 20 members in training and mentoring activities. The training included counseling and practical training on nugget production and marketing, while the mentoring aimed to evaluate the group's ability to independently produce and market the product. Initial knowledge and skills of partners were determined through pre- and post-tests. The results showed that partner knowledge was relatively low, with an average of 34.5%, increasing by 55% to 89.5% after participating in the community service activity. Through nugget production, the added value increased by IDR 222,000 per kg of seaweed. Thus, this activity effectively increased the empowerment level of "Julu Atia" and can be replicated in other groups to improve the welfare of coastal communities.
