Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of discovery learning on cell material on students' concept comprehension of class XI. In this study, the quantitative research method used quasi-experiments and a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The instruments used in the research consisted of learning materials (lesson plan, students’ worksheet and textbooks) and data collection instruments in the form of reasoned multiple choice written tests of 20 pretest-posttest questions. The research was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Batu Bara. The population in this study were all 3 classes of XI IPA, and the sample used was 2 classes totaling 60 students taken using cluster random sampling technique. Class XI IPA 1 as an experimental class using the discovery learning model, while class XI IPA 2 as a control class using conventional learning methods. Data analysis techniques in this study were analyzed using ANCOVA. Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of experiential learning conducted by Baiturrahman Islamic High School to preserve the local wisdom of pojhien jhengngato'. This research method used case studies with a qualitative approach. Purposive sampling techniques were used to select informants. Data collection in this study used observation, interview, and documentation techniques. This research data analysis technique used interactive models from the Miles and Huberman Model. Testing the validity of the data was carried out by triangulation of sources. The results showed that Baiturrahman Islamic High School had implemented experiential learning to preserve pojhien jhengngato's local wisdom. It was done by inviting pojhien jhengngato' to the Sumenep Regency anniversary commemoration event at Baiturrahman Islamic High School. Furthermore, the assignment of a practical exam in the form of writing an essay on local wisdom pojhien jhengngato' was carried out with techniques according to Kolb, which consists of stages: 1) the stage of real experience, 2) reflection observation stage; 3) conceptualization stage; and 4) the implementation stage.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the process of empowering tribal children in the field of education carried out by Friends of Child Exploration (SEAD) in Jambi. The method used in the research was a qualitative approach with a case study method. The selection of informants was carried out using a purposive sampling technique to select informants consisting of 9 key informants, namely volunteer friends exploring children in Jambi and also Waris from the Anak Dalam tribe, as well as five supporting informants, namely Tumanggung, parents from the Anak Dalam tribe and also the community. The data collection techniques used were observation, in-depth interviews and documentation studies. Data analysis was done through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. This research also used data triangulation techniques to test the validity of the data. The findings of this research were that empowerment in education provides a way for tribal children to learn how to read, write and count. If we look at the empowerment process carried out by the Deep Child Exploration Friends (SEAD) Jambi for children from the inner child tribe, the teaching and learning process begins with an introduction stage for all children of different ages after new material improvements have been made. What will be taught is differentiated from children's material, which is still in the introductory stage. Apart from that, if we look at the planning carried out by Jambi Children's Exploration Friends (SEAD), it is always adjusted to the situation and conditions in the field. There is no element of coercion, but it is carried out with a first approach and adaptation to the children, such as by teaching them to play first, eat and sing together. In the teaching and learning process, the methods used are also adapted to the children so that they are not boring and always look for ways to keep them happy during the empowerment activities.

Abstract

Indonesia, with its extensive diversity in religions, races, cultures, and ethnic groups, confronts the dual potential of this diversity: as both a source of harmony and a source of conflict. This study utilizes an explanatory sequential mixed-methods approach to explore the comprehension and practice of interfaith tolerance among university students and to identify strategies for enhancing social harmony. By employing questionnaires and conducting interviews with students from varied religious backgrounds, the research reveals that although there is an overarching understanding of tolerance, its actual implementation is frequently hindered by religious fanaticism and other social barriers. The findings emphasize that education, particularly at the tertiary level, plays a pivotal role in cultivating an effective understanding and enactment of tolerance. Consequently, the study advocates for the enhancement of curricula by integrating Pancasila values and multicultural education to fortify tolerance and mitigate fanaticism. This research underscores the significance of interfaith dialogue and education in promoting social harmony and inclusive national development in Indonesia. Abstrak Indonesia, sebagai negara yang kaya akan keanekaragaman agama, ras, budaya, dan etnis, menghadapi potensi dualistik keberagaman ini: sebagai sumber harmoni dan juga sebagai sumber konflik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode campuran sekuensial eksplanatori untuk memahami pemahaman dan praktik toleransi antar umat beragama di kalangan mahasiswa, serta mengidentifikasi strategi untuk meningkatkan harmoni sosial. Melalui kuesioner dan wawancara dengan mahasiswa dari berbagai latar belakang agama, penelitian ini mengungkap bahwa meskipun ada pemahaman tentang toleransi, praktiknya sering terhambat oleh fanatisme agama dan penghambat sosial lainnya. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan, khususnya di perguruan tinggi, memegang peran kunci dalam membentuk pemahaman dan praktek toleransi yang efektif. Implikasinya, peningkatan kurikulum yang mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai Pancasila dan pendidikan multikultural diperlukan untuk memperkuat toleransi dan mengatasi fanatisme. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya dialog antaragama dan pendidikan dalam mempromosikan keselarasan sosial dan pembangunan nasional yang inklusif di Indonesia.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan menjelaskan mengenai konsep penanaman nilai-nilai karakter siswa melalui gerakan literasi khususnya di Sekolah Dasar yang didasarkan pada pandangan pedagogik kritis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi kepustakaan atau studi literatur. Hasil yang diperoleh berdasarkan kajian pustaka yang dilakukan bahwa: pertama, gerakan literasi di Sekolah Dasar secara konseptual menunjukkan adanya pengintegrasian dalam upaya menumbuhkembangkan budi pekerti agar anak didik menjadi pembelajar sepanjang hayat; kedua, penanaman nilai-nilai karakter dalam gerakan literasi sekolah merupakan salah satu syarat dalam mencapai tujuan pendidikan secara universal; ketiga, pedagogik kritis memandang secara mendasar bahwa penanaman nilai-nilai karakter siswa melalui gerakan literasi di Sekolah Dasar merupakan suatu proses pemanusiaan atau proses pendidikan di dalam kancah pergumulan berbagai struktur kekuasaan atau kegiatan yang menimpa manusia. Sehingga dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa penanaman nilai-nilai karakter siswa melalui gerakan literasi di Sekolah Dasar merupakan bentuk dari humanisasi pendidikan dan sebagai upaya menumbuhkembangkan budi pekerti anak didik, sehingga menjadikannya sebagai pembelajar sepanjang hayat yang berkarakter baik.Kata Kunci: Nilai-nilai Karakter; Gerakan Literasi Sekolah; Sekolah Dasar; Pedagogik Kritis

Abstract

This study aims to 1) analyze these studies from the point of view of the scientific paradigm, 2) determine the paradigm of science that has been done by previous research, and 3) Find untouched research gaps based on the paradigm of science. These three findings are useful as theoretical foundations for conducting subsequent research. Based on this objective, this research uses the method of literature study by utilizing an understanding of the philosophy of science to see the nature of the paradigm of science that underlies each research. The research process was carried out in three steps: the first began with conducting a literature review of several articles of character education research reports on the Baduy indigenous people; second, interpret by categorizing each research report based on the basic paradigm of the social sciences; and third, find a scientific paradigm that has not been done in previous studies. As a result, character education research that has been carried out has used various paradigms of social science, ranging from philosophy and psychology to sociology. However, if examined more deeply based on the perspective of the sociological paradigm, character education studies in the Baduy indigenous community are still within the scope of micro-sociology in the form of the role of the family in shaping character, no one has used the macro-sociological paradigm that considers the roles of social structures and systems in shaping community adherence to pikukuh (customary rules).

Abstract

The increase in Online Gender-Based Violence (OGBV) has become a pressing issue, with cases rising annually. This trend has sparked widespread public discussions, particularly about contemporary gender perceptions in the digital realm. This study investigates these perceptions using social media platform Instagram, Twitter (X), and TikTok as case studies. Using a qualitative approach with Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), the research explores the text, discourse practices, and sociocultural dynamics in the responses to OGBV. Data was collected from comments on three speciMic OGBV cases, receiving between 100 and 1,000 responses across the platforms. The Mindings reveal that social media serves a dual purpose: it acts as a platform for solidarity and advocacy, enabling digital communities to support victims and raise awareness about women's rights and empowerment. However, it also perpetuates victim-blaming and reinforces traditional gender stereotypes, thereby upholding patriarchal structures. This reMlects a contradictory role that social media plays in shaping public views on gender and violence. While digital spaces provide opportunities for empowerment and social change, they also mirror and amplify regressive societal attitudes, presenting challenges to efforts aimed at achieving gender equality. The study highlights the complex interplay between progressive and regressive attitudes in the digital community’s reactions to gender violence. It emphasizes the need to address the contradictory nature of social media's inMluence on public perceptions of OGBV. By offering critical insights into the sociocultural tensions at play, the research helps us understand the role of digital platforms in shaping gender discourse in the digital age.

Abstract

Perilaku individualis dan apatis menjadi karakteristik generasi Z yang mampu membentuk perilaku antisosial. Kondisi tersebut mendorong tiga pemuda Sukabumi melakukan perubahan melalui dibentuknya NGO bernama Sahabat Lingkungan yang mampu meningkatkan perilaku prososial dan meminimalkan perilaku antisosial. Tujuan penelitian untuk memperoleh gambaran dualitas dalam perubahan yang diupayakan oleh pendiri NGO. Teori yang digunakan adalah Strukturasi dari Anthony Giddens. Teori tersebut menganalisis hubungan dualitas dalam peningkatan perilaku prososial oleh NGO. Digunakan pendekatan kualitiatif dengan metode studi kasus untuk memperoleh hasil dan analisis data. Teknik pengumpulan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Informan penelitian ini berjumlah 11 orang. Adapun lokasi penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kota Sukabumi, Jawa Barat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Adanya hubungan dualitas dalam meningkatkan perilaku prososial melalui peran NGO Sahabat Lingkungan yang mana struktur dalam hal ini kondisi masyarakat dan lingkungan Kota Sukabumi menjadi faktor terbentuknya agen untuk melakukan agensinya yang dalam hal ini para pendiri yang mendirikan lembaga Sahabat Lingkungan. (2) Terbentuknya praktik sosial baru dalam kehidupan sehari-hari generasi Z yang bergabung dalam Sahabat Lingkungan atas tindakan-tindakan yang dipengaruhi oleh agen dan dilakukan secara berulang

Abstract

Perkembangan Thoriqoh memiliki pengaruh yang besar pada setiap daerah di Indonesia. Banten salah satu daerah yang memiliki ketenaran mengenai ajaran Thoriqoh. Bahkan, menjadi salah satu lembaga keagaman tersohor yang menolak kolonialisme. Karena itu peneliti mencari fakta-fakta sejarah tentang perkembangan Thoriqoh, terutama Thoriqoh Syattariyyah yang pernah menjadi primadona di kalangan masyarakat Banten. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, yaitu metode dengan studi lapangan atau field research, sebagai data primer. Serta didukung oleh data sekunder seperti buku, jurnal-jurnal dan artikel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengunggap sejarah yang terkubur tentang Thoriqoh Syattariyyah, mengemukakan ajaran Thoriqoh Syattahiyah yang masih eksis di Banten. Thoriqoh Syatthariyah yang masih ada di Banten yaitu bertempat di Tanara dan Cakung. Kemudian muncul terbaru di daerah padarincang, tepatnya di pondok Pesantren Shadana Padarincang-Banten yang di pimpin langsung oleh Kiyai H Arif Hidayat. Dengan di temukannya mursyid Thoriqoh Syattariyyah di kawasan padarincang semoga penelitian ini bisa menjadi sebagai sumber referensi untuk penelitain selanjutnya.

Abstract

This article explains that lawas sakeco serves as a source for learning sociology. The aim of this research is to explore the meanings within lawas sakeco, which is rich in social values, to enhance the study of sociology. This research is descriptive in nature. The objects of the research are lawas sakeco and ethnopedagogical studies. Data collection is conducted through library research. The technique for data analysis involves examining the values contained within lawas sakeco so that it becomes a resource for sociology learning. This research shows that (1) lawas sakeco is an oral tradition of folk poetry in the Samawa community, (2) lawas sakeco contains social values, and (3) lawas sakeco serves as a learning resource through the cultural wisdom of local traditions in sociology education.
