Abstract

This study aims to examine child abuse which has currently received attention from the community, related to the increasing number of cases revealed with various forms of violence and the adverse effects that must be borne by children as victims of violence. The research method used case study by conducting interviews with members of the Tasikmalaya Regency KPAID task force which aims to reveal various sexual violence against children. In the perspective of social control, violence occurs because of the vacuum of social control that exists in society, this can occur when family institutions have undergone changes in carrying out their functions and roles, especially in terms of parenting applied to children. Various data reveal that sexual violence against children actually occurs in the closest environment such as family and school, this is what causes cases of sexual violence against children to be increasingly difficult to uncover and resolve, social control needs to be carried out not only by family members, but also by various parties with an interest in child protection. Keywords: Children, sexual violence, social control.

Abstract

This research examines the dynamics of gender role reconstruction in Bugis-Makassar society in the context of the Siri’ na pacce tradition in the modern era. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method, this research applies in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results show that Siri’ na pacce, a traditional concept that emphasizes shame and compassion, remains a significant influence on gender roles. However, these roles have been transformed by modernization and increased access to education. Women are increasingly participating in higher education and the public sphere, while men’s roles are evolving to include more domestic responsibilities. This reconstruction reflects the complex interaction between traditional values and modern influences. This study contributes to the understanding of how local cultural concepts adapt and shape gender identities amid global change, providing insights for culturally sensitive development policies.

Abstract

Acquisition is a growth strategy to improve company performance by buying shares in other companies. This corporate action has become a trend in Indonesia in 2010. With the hope of becoming more profitable, it turns out that many companies have suffered losses. Several of these companies have proven that the acquisition theory is not necessarily correct, therefore the purpose of this study is to analyze and compare whether there are significant differences in financial performance before and after making acquisitions in 2010-2021. This study uses a quantitative research method with a descriptive approach. The sample in this study were 43 companies. For the analysis technique itself using the Description Test and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of this study are that ROA, CR, and EPS experienced an average increase when the acquisition was made, but this increase did not show a significant difference before or after the acquisition. Then on TATO and DER there was an average decrease when the acquisition was made and this decrease did not indicate a significant difference before or after the acquisition. From the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that to see whether the company is experiencing growth or not after the acquisition, it cannot only be seen from the financial performance factor.
