Abstract

Abstract

Adolescence is a transition period for a person in searching for his or her identity. In searching for their identity, teenagers sometimes commit deviations. Deviations that are currently widespread are acts of klitih. Klitih is a case of deviation in the form of violence and is negative in nature. Seeing the many cases of klitih that occur in society, especially the people of Yogyakarta, it is appropriate for all parties to seek the best solution to suppress and prevent cases of klitih from recurring. One effort that can be made is to increase the role of parental parenting in adolescent development. The research method used is qualitative with descriptive analysis and literature study which presents data based on several relevant opinions from various sources and then analyzes them. This research also aims to find out how parents' parenting patterns deal with deviance in adolescents, with a focus on the klitih phenomenon in Yogyakarta. The results of this research reveal various parenting patterns used by parents in dealing with adolescent deviance, namely klitih. Some parents use an authoritarian approach, while others are more likely to approach a democratic approach. Psychological and social factors also play an important role in parents' decision making regarding the phenomenon of klitih. Thus, parenting styles have a significant influence in overcoming deviations in adolescents, especially in the context of the phenomenon of klitih. This research provides valuable insights for further understanding the relationship between parenting styles and adolescent deviance and provides a basis for more effective prevention efforts.

Abstract

The occurrence of several crises in recent decades has led to significant uncertainty in the capital market, potentially fostering tendencies for herd behavior. This conduct may manifest in situations of asymmetry when the market experiences varying conditions (market up and down). Herd behavior in asymmetric can be driven by a variety of global influences, such as the Federal Funds Rate and the world oil price. The aim of this research is to investigate whether herd behavior exists under asymmetric conditions, and to explore the influence of global factors on such behavior within the manufacturing sectors listed in the capital markets of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand using daily closing stock price information from January 2015 to December 2022. This research utilizes a cross-sectional dispersion methodology and incorporates a dummy variable within the standard model to accomplish its research objective. The findings denote that asymmetric herding tendencies are evident solely among manufacturing firms listed on the Indonesian stock market during downturns, contrasting with the absence of such behavior in Malaysia and Thailand during market fluctuations. In Indonesia, global factors do not play a significant role in prompting asymmetric herding, whereas in Malaysia and Thailand, are more influenced by the Federal Funds Rate. Abstract

The stock price has consistently varied over time in the capital market and can be influenced by a range of internal and external factors. This study aims to identify the elements that investors take into account when making investment decisions on the Main Board Index of the Indonesian stock market, as well as the factors that determine share prices. The study utilized data gathered between 2018 and 2022, from 106 companies listed on the main board index using a purposive sampling method. Panel data regression techniques have been utilized to elucidate the determinants of the firm equity price. Research findings denote that profitability as measured by earnings per share (EPS) and return on assets (ROA), along with the size and value of the firm, contribute positively to equity prices. Conversely, the capital structure exerts a negative impact on share prices, while dividend policy does not affect stock prices. Our findings underscore the significance for investors to consider on factors within a company beside external when processing information and deliberating on investment choices. Abstract

This study aims to 1) analyze these studies from the point of view of the scientific paradigm, 2) determine the paradigm of science that has been done by previous research, and 3) Find untouched research gaps based on the paradigm of science. These three findings are useful as theoretical foundations for conducting subsequent research. Based on this objective, this research uses the method of literature study by utilizing an understanding of the philosophy of science to see the nature of the paradigm of science that underlies each research. The research process was carried out in three steps: the first began with conducting a literature review of several articles of character education research reports on the Baduy indigenous people; second, interpret by categorizing each research report based on the basic paradigm of the social sciences; and third, find a scientific paradigm that has not been done in previous studies. As a result, character education research that has been carried out has used various paradigms of social science, ranging from philosophy and psychology to sociology. However, if examined more deeply based on the perspective of the sociological paradigm, character education studies in the Baduy indigenous community are still within the scope of micro-sociology in the form of the role of the family in shaping character, no one has used the macro-sociological paradigm that considers the roles of social structures and systems in shaping community adherence to pikukuh (customary rules).

Abstract

Gender stereotypes continue to permeate society, limiting individual potential and impeding progress towards true equality. This research investigates the impact of educational attainment on equality in dispelling these entrenched stereotypes, with the aim of understanding whether educational attainment acts as a catalyst for change. Using a quantitative approach, we surveyed 400 people in Bandung, Indonesia, collecting data on educational background, gender, and levels of gender stereotypes. Using descriptive statistics and regression analysis, we explored the relationship between these variables. Our findings show a significant negative correlation between achieving educational equality and holding gender stereotypes. This suggests that individuals who have equal access to education exhibit lower levels of stereotypical thinking, regardless of their gender. Further analysis delved deeper, showing that individuals with higher levels of education, both male and female, had lower scores on the gender stereotyping measure. This indicates that education plays an important role in challenging traditional gender norms and fostering a more egalitarian perspective. However, the study also identified differences in this relationship. Differences in gender stereotypes existed across demographic groups, with women generally showing higher levels compared to men. These differences highlight the need for further investigation into the complex factors that influence individuals' perceptions of gender roles. Overall, this quantitative analysis strengthens the argument that achieving equality in education is a powerful tool to eliminate harmful gender stereotypes. By providing knowledge, critical thinking skills and exposure to diverse perspectives, education empowers individuals to challenge preconceived notions and embrace a more just society. The findings presented here have valuable implications for policymakers, educators, and community stakeholders who want to create a world free from gender stereotypes and limitations.
