Abstract

This study aims to determine the form of local wisdom of Tenganan Pagringsingan Village in the preservation of village forests and water sources. This research is a qualitative descriptive study by conducting observations and interviews with several village community leaders, village heads, traditional heads, and the community. The results of the study show that the people of Tenganan Pagringsingan Village strongly uphold and uphold the existing local wisdom, especially in the form of rituals, myths, and rules. This local wisdom plays a role in maintaining the sustainability of village forests and water sources. These rituals are in the form of Tumpek Wariga and Metruna Nyoman. The Tumpek Wariga ritual is a symbol as a form of gratitude to nature in the mystical sense for the gift of plant fertility so that the community can use it for survival. The Metruna Nyoman ritual, as a form of non-formal education, shapes the character of the younger generation to know their own village, existing rituals, and most importantly, love and protect the environment. The myth that has existed since ancient times is Lelipi Selahan Bukit, a form of belief in forest guardians, so that the community does not dare to do things that cause forest damage. The rules, in the form of customary village regulations, outline the rights and obligations of indigenous communities, along with the accompanying sanctions. These regulations will serve as a binding force for all forms of community behavior, ensuring they conform to the established guidelines.

Abstract

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic caused most students to experience learning loss after joining online learning for almost 2 years. Learning loss is a student's condition experiencing learning setbacks academically due to the factors of the non-sustainable educational process. The study aimed at analyzing the learning loss phenomenon experienced by elementary school students in the COVID-19 post-pandemic situation. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach. The population of the study was 401,321 distributed students, and the sample was gained through conducting two sampling techniques, such as random cluster sampling and accidental sampling, with a final sample of 1,104 students. The data collection methodologies conducted were interview, observation, and questionnaire. The questionnaire used contained 15 questions that had been validated before. The data analysis of the study was conducted interactively using 3 techniques, such as data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The descriptive analysis was conducted by using the Guttman scale with the percentage statistic technique. The result of the study showed that there were learning loss phenomena in the post-pandemic situation, a condition seen from the researched dimensions in the low and medium categories. Moreover, a high level of learning loss was found in the rural area. This was observed from several things, such as the learning facilities provided, the parent's role, and the learning methodologies conducted. To resolve learning loss, we need to participate all parties in the learning process, which in this context means mending a good relationship with the community and parents to improve the learning quality, which is assisted with innovative learning models. Doi: 10.28991/ESJ-2023-SPER-014 Full Text: PDF

Abstract

This study examines the integration of educational psychology and anti-corruption education grounded in local wisdom as a strategic model for character development in Indonesian madrasahs, contributing to SDG 4, particularly targets 4.7 (education for sustainable development and global citizenship) and 4. a (safe, inclusive, and effective learning environments). The research responds to the persistent challenge of moral degradation among students and the limited availability of holistic, culturally responsive character education models. Employing a qualitative multiple case study design, the study was conducted at MTsN 1 and MTsN 2 Buleleng, involving 26 informants (principals, teachers, students, and parents) selected through purposive sampling. Data saturation was achieved when no new themes emerged across interviews, observations, questionnaires, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, including data reduction, thematic analysis, and verification. The findings demonstrate that integrating psychological principles (self-awareness, empathy, and positive reinforcement) with anti-corruption values (honesty, discipline, and accountability), contextualized through local wisdom such as Tri Hita Karana, significantly enhances students’ character formation. Observable outcomes include reduced cheating behavior, improved task responsibility, increased honesty in daily interactions, and greater participation in collaborative and social activities. Furthermore, the synergy among schools, families, and community cultural practices fosters a sustainable moral ecosystem that supports inclusive and value-based learning environments. This study offers a contextually grounded, scalable model for character education, with practical and policy implications for strengthening culturally responsive, values-based education aligned with global educational goals.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the role-playing method on the learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 003 Gunung Tabur. The study employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method through a quasi-experimental design with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 60 students, comprising 30 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class. The experimental group was treated with the application of the role-playing method, while the control group used conventional teaching methods. Research data were obtained through achievement tests administered as pretests and posttests. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential statistics with a MANCOVA test to examine the effect of the learning method on student achievement. The results indicated a significant difference in average achievement scores between the two groups, with the experimental class achieving an average score of 84.80, while the control class achieved an average of 74.60. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 with an effect size of 0.59, which falls into the large category. These findings indicate that the role-playing method has a significant effect on students’ IPAS learning outcomes. Role-playing can enhance students’ active engagement in the learning process through simulations and group interactions, thereby helping students understand learning concepts more deeply and contextually. Therefore, this method can serve as an effective alternative learning strategy for improving science learning outcomes in elementary schools.

Abstract

The contextual approach plays a strategic role in Social Studies (IPS) learning by connecting theoretical concepts with students’ everyday life experiences. The Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes the development of critical thinking skills, the ability to solve social problems, and an understanding of cultural diversity and social interaction dynamics within the surrounding environment. However, the utilization of village toponymy as a learning resource in schools remains suboptimal, as many teachers still rely on conventional textbooks. Therefore, this study aims to develop Google Sites–based village toponymy learning media that are valid and practical, and to examine their effectiveness in improving the cultural and civic literacy of seventh-grade junior high school students. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Negara using a Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate). The data analysis techniques included qualitative, quantitative, statistical, and inferential statistical analyses. The results showed that the material expert validation reached 93.56%, the media expert validation reached 94.45%, and the practicality assessment reached 92.50%. These results indicate that the Google Sites–based Village Toponymy Media of Jembrana Regency is categorized as “very good” and is both valid and practical for use in seventh-grade Social Studies learning.Furthermore, students’ average scores increased from 61.20 to 82.40. The results of the Paired Samples t-test using SPSS 25 showed that t_calculated = 36.733 > t_table = 2.0638, with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. These findings demonstrate that the developed learning media are effective in improving students’ cultural and civic literacy in seventh-grade Social Studies learning

Abstract

The e-LPKD PjBL model with Tri Hita Karana (THK) insertion has not been developed, and student learning outcomes and learning activities are deficient. The purpose is: produce e-LKPD, determine the validity and practicality of the media, and explain the effectiveness of E-LKPD PjBL with THK NInsertion in Improving the Activeness and Learning Outcomes of Science Students. The data collection method is in the form of questionnaires and tests.  The type of development research is with the ADDIE model. The study focuses on E-LKPD, with 20 students from grade III A, 22 from grade III B, and four teachers. The data analysis technique uses percentages, prerequisite analysis tests, and hypothesis tests. The results of the study are as follows: (1) E-LKPD is accessed in the form of a link, (2) the results of media validity are 94.38%, material validity is 93.84%, very valid, (3) the results of the practicality percentage are 89.99%, very practical. (4) The results of the effectiveness test obtained Pillai's Trace, Wilks'Lambda, Hotelling's Trace, and Roy's Largest Root values each have a statistical value of F = 83.776 and a significant figure of 0.001, this value is smaller than the significance level of 0.05 (p < 0.05). So, it can be concluded that there is an influence of learning activity and learning outcomes together between students who study with E-LKPD PjBL with THK insertion and without using e-LKPD. The implication for basic education is that it can implement THK with the Pjbl model.
