Abstract

This study examines the development of citizenship education, Pancasila education, and character formation through a Systematic Literature Review using PRISMA 2020 guidelines. From an initial pool of 394 articles, 15 studies published between 2015–2024 met all inclusion criteria and were analyzed through bibliometric mapping and thematic synthesis. The findings show that research collaboration in this field is still dominated by national networks, although international partnerships have increased in recent years. Research trends indicate a shift from conventional moral instruction toward digital citizenship, global value integration, and character empowerment aligned with contemporary societal demands. Thematic analysis reveals dominant focuses on digital ethics, civic identity, learning innovation, cultural negotiation, and the strengthening of reflective and participatory competencies. Overall, this review highlights that citizenship and Pancasila education have transformed into interdisciplinary spaces that support moral development, social responsibility, and adaptive civic skills. The study also identifies conceptual and methodological gaps, offering recommendations for advancing research and enriching educational practice.

Abstract

Islamophobia, as a global phenomenon, has seen significant impacts in various countries, including Canada. This research aims to investigate the dynamics of Islamophobia in Canada, explore the factors that influence public perceptions, and analyse its impact on Muslims. Using media content analysis, community surveys, and case study methods, this research identifies a number of cases of discrimination, negative rhetoric, and violence faced by Muslim communities in Canada. The study also examines how the mass media plays a key role in shaping public perceptions of Islam, as well as the extent to which government policies and regulations reflect the protection of Muslim rights. Findings highlight trends of inequality in everyday life, including in the workplace, education, and social interactions. In addition, the research discusses the efforts that have been taken by the government, Muslim community organisations to address Islamophobia. In particular, focus is given to educational initiatives and interfaith dialogue as a way to promote mutual respect in Canada's multicultural society. The study concludes by highlighting the challenges still faced by the Muslim community in Canada and emphasising the importance of cross-sectoral cooperation to create an inclusive and equitable environment for all its citizens, regardless of religious or cultural identity.

Abstract

This study examines the absence of institutional vision and policy in Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah (MDTA) in Jambi and analyzes its implications for institutional sustainability. This topic is important because MDTA operates under flexible and general regulations, making internal vision and policy crucial for ensuring organizational direction and long-term viability. The research aims to identify the factors contributing to the lack of vision and policy formulation and to assess their impact on the sustainability of MDTA institutions. Using a qualitative research design, data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with the principals of Madrasah Misbahussadah and Madrasah Raudatul Islamiyah in Jambi, and a document analysis of MDTA regulations issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, as well as relevant literature. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The study reveals three main findings. First, MDTA principals lack a comprehensive and formally documented institutional vision, while policies are largely based on personal experience rather than systematic planning. Second, the absence of vision is driven by limited awareness of its strategic importance, inadequate institutional resources and support, and the lack of training in vision and policy formulation. Third, this condition results in weak institutional direction, reduced attractiveness for qualified teachers, uncertainty in decision-making, and challenges to institutional sustainability. The study emphasizes the significance of structured vision development and policy-making in enhancing MDTA governance. Future research is encouraged to explore capacity-building models and policy interventions to support the sustainable management of religion-based educational institutions in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of a constructivist approach in instilling religious values through the Hadith on cleanliness among elementary school students. Constructivism emphasizes the active role of students in constructing knowledge through direct experience and personal reflection. The research method used is a literature review, analyzing various sources related to constructivist education and the teaching of Islamic values in elementary education. The findings indicate that the constructivist approach can be effectively applied through contextual learning strategies, group discussions, and hygiene-related practices linked to the values of Hadith. This implementation not only improves students’ understanding of the importance of cleanliness in Islam but also fosters consistent religious attitudes in their daily lives. Thus, integrating Islamic values into constructivist-based learning contributes positively to students’ character development.
