Abstract

Creative thinking skills are one of the 21st-century life skills. The development of students’ creative thinking skills is important as a learning goal. However, learning in schools still tends to prioritize short-term learning outcomes on product dimensions only. The mind mapping method in blended learning activities with the help of Microsoft 365 provides space for students to develop their creativity. This study aims to develop students' creative thinking skills through the Microsoft 365-based mind mapping method. A total of 68 students from public high schools in Jakarta were sampled in this experimental study. The results showed that there was an increase in the indicators of students' creative thinking in the experimental class on indicators of originality of 70.3%, flexibility of 61.3%, fluency of 30%, and better than the control class. Microsoft 365-based mind mapping learning can be used as an alternative in creating a learning atmosphere that develops creative thinking skills because students have the authority to arrange concepts to be conveyed by choosing words that represent concepts, through colors and appropriate forms of symbols. with student creativity. Microsoft 365 has features that can facilitate interaction in class, as well as reach individual student needs through the personalized section in the one-note feature. Other features, such as Microsoft Sway, Microsoft Forms, and Microsoft PowerPoint 365 provide full support for classroom learning interactions with the mind mapping method

Abstract

The 21st-century learning has undergone a paradigm shift in education from teacher-centered to student-centered. It recently emphasises students' critical and creative thinking abilities, effective communication, innovation, problem-solving, and collaboration. This study examined the Ricosre model's effectiveness with the Question Formulation Technique (QFT) in enhancing students' higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) and science literacy. It involved 296 fifth-grade students from three selected state elementary schools, chosen through cluster random sampling. Each group consisted of 148 students divided into control and experimental groups. Data were collected through multiple-choice and essay instruments and subsequently analysed using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). The research variables were students' higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) and science literacy. The results indicated that the Ricosre model with QFT effectively improves students' higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) and science literacy, as it encouraged active participation during the learning process, trained students to develop questioning skills, find answers, analyse, share ideas, and draw conclusions. Thus, it can foster curiosity and metacognitive abilities among students.

Abstract

English plays a vital role for school children, both for their personal development, academics, and the future of the nation. English is considered a universal language because it is widely used in various countries as a primary language. Furthermore, it is also an international language that is crucial to master or learn. English learning should begin at preschool age, as this is the stage at which children most easily absorb and develop their language skills. Early learning also has a positive impact on English mastery as they progress through elementary school and college. Therefore, the goal of these English learning activities is expected to increase motivation to learn English and contribute to academic achievement at school.

Abstract

This study examines the historical development of scientific thinking in the West and its relevance to Islamic education through a qualitative library research design combined with a systematic literature review. The review covered studies published between 2014–2024 and collected through major databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, DOAJ, Google Scholar, and Moraref, resulting in a synthesis of 72 relevant publications. The analysis identifies significant epistemological shifts from classical rationalism to contemporary pluralism and evaluates their implications for Islamic education. The study formulates an operational framework of reason–revelation integration that can be applied in curriculum design, particularly in strengthening critical inquiry, ethical reasoning, and spiritual orientation. The findings highlight the potential of epistemological integration to enrich Islamic education and address the challenges posed by modern scientific paradigms.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how religious moderation values are internalized in Islamic Education (PAI) learning at SMAN 2 Sleman. Strengthening religious moderation is considered crucial to respond to the moral and social challenges experienced by Generation Alpha in today’s digital era. Core values such as tolerance, fairness, and balance need to be cultivated early to build students’ openness and appreciation for diversity. This research applied a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The results show that the internalization process occurs through teachers’ exemplary behavior, routine practices, and reflective-dialogue-based learning. The process is supported by an inclusive and cooperative school climate, while challenges arise from digital media influences and peer rivalry. Overall, religious moderation in PAI learning contributes significantly to shaping students’ moderate and respectful character in the school environment.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of science and technology in the twenty-first century has reshaped human conceptions of knowledge and reality, contributing to a global crisis of meaning rooted in secular and positivistic epistemologies that separate truth from moral and spiritual values. Within Islamic education, this tension appears in the dichotomy between religious and worldly sciences, creating fragmentation and imbalance. This study examines the integration of three classical Islamic epistemologies: bayani which is textual and normative, burhani which is rational and empirical, and irfani which is intuitive and spiritual as a conceptual basis for reconstructing the philosophy of Islamic education. Using a qualitative approach through literature analysis of primary and secondary sources from scholars such as al Ghazali and Syed Muhammad Naquib al Attas, the findings show that integrating these epistemologies produces a holistic framework that harmonizes revelation, reason, and spiritual intuition. This model offers an alternative to secular education by promoting intellectual, moral, and spiritual balance and fostering ethically responsible individuals.

Abstract

The selection of extracurricular programs at MTs Muhammadiyah Kubangkondang Cisata currently faces challenges due to a subjective, manual process that is not sufficiently based on objective guidelines, often leading to mismatches between the chosen programs and students' actual interests and talents, ultimately reducing the effectiveness of extracurricular activities. This research aims to address this issue by designing and developing a Decision Support System (DSS) based on the Fuzzy Multiple Attribute Decision Making (MADM) method, chosen for its ability to handle fuzzy data and subjective criteria such as assessments of interests, talents, teacher recommendations, and facility availability. The Fuzzy MADM method allows for comprehensive weighting and aggregation of criteria to produce measurable recommendations. The result of this research is a system capable of providing the best extracurricular program recommendations for students based on established criteria, making the selection process more objective, structured, and effective, while supporting the development of individual student potential at the school. Keywords: Decision Support System (DSS), Fuzzy Multiple Attribute Decision Making (MADM), Extracurricular, Interests and Talents, MTs Muhammadiyah Kubangkondang Cisata.
