Abstract

Kejadian stunting merupakan masalah kesehatan anak di Indonesia yang berdampak pada anemia, perkembangan dan sistem imunitas. Pada balita anemia, peningkatan morbiditas dan gangguan perkembangan dapat menyebabkan gangguan pada struktur dan fungsi tubuh dalam kemampuan anak menuju kematangan yang bersifat tetap dan berpengaruh pada kesehatan di masa mendatang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan stunting dengan kadar hemoglobin, morbiditas dan perkembangan batita. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian cross-sectional dan dilakukan pada bulan Juli 2019 di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Kebondalem di Kabupaten Pemalang dengan sampel batita usia 6-26 bulan. Variabel penelitian yang dinilai adalah kadar hemoglobin (Hb), morbiditas, perkembangan yang diukur melalui kemampuan gerak kasar, gerak halus, bicara, bahasa dan sosialisasi, dan kemandirian, dan stunting pada batita, serta karakteristik ibu. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pengukuran antropometri, pemeriksaan Hb, dan wawancara. Analisis multivariat menggunakan uji regresi logistik. Pada penelitian ini, diantara total 142 batita, 45,1% mengalami stunting. Pada penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa anak yang mengalami stunting mengalami risiko anemia dan mobiditas, masing-masing sebesar 125 (POR=125,21; 95% CI=16,17-969,26) dan 2,5 kali (POR=2,46 95% CI=1,12-5,04) lebih tinggi dibanding dengan anak yang tidak stunting. Tidak ditemukan hubungan antara stunting dengan perkembangan anak (POR=0,22; 95% CI=0,02 2,23). Pada penelitian ini, ditemukan adanya hubungan anak stunting dengan anemia dan morbiditas. Keberhasilan program pengendalian stunting dapat berintegrasi dengan program pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit.

Abstract

Anemia among Indonesian adolescent girls remains a major issue, with 15.5% nationally and 49.47% in Pekalongan affected. Ferritin, a sensitive marker of iron stores, reflects early iron deficiency influenced by diet, enhanced by vitamin C, and inhibited by calcium and phytic acid. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between iron, enhancer, and inhibitor intake and ferritin and hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls. An observational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted among 80 female students in Pekalongan, Central Java. Intake of iron, protein, vitamin A, vitamin C, fiber, calcium, and phytic acid was assessed using a Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ). Hemoglobin levels were measured using a Hematology Analyzer, and ferritin was analyzed using the ELISA method. Data were analyzed using Pearson or Spearman correlation and multiple linear regression tests. The results show that ferritin levels were significantly correlated with iron (r = 0.293; p = 0.008) and vitamin C intake (r = 0.298; p = 0.007), and negatively correlated with calcium and phytic acid (r = –0.673; p < 0.001). Hemoglobin levels were correlated with protein (r=0.232; p=0.035), calcium (r=–0.240; p=0.032), and phytic acid (r=–0.241; p=0.032). Multivariate analysis revealed that ferritin levels were influenced simultaneously by iron, vitamin C, and calcium intake (CI: 95%, p < 0.001), while hemoglobin levels were influenced simultaneously by protein, fiber, and phytic acid intake (CI: 95%, p = 0.019). Iron, vitamin C, calcium, protein, fiber, and phytic acid intake influence ferritin and hemoglobin levels. Ferritin should be used as an early marker of iron deficiency, and interventions promoting higher iron and vitamin C intake while limiting inhibitors are recommended for adolescent girls.

Abstract

AbstrakASI merupakan makanan yang terbaik bagi bayi, karena mengandung zat gizi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan bayi, kandungan gizi yang terdapat dalam ASI sangat sempurna dan sangat bermanfaat bagi bayi. Secara global cakupan ASI eksklusif masih rendah yaitu 42%. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengkaji pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan terhadap pengetahuan ibu tentang ASI Eksklusif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kajian pustaka (literature review) yaitu dengan mengumpulkan hasil penelitian berupa artikel lmiah atau studi pustaka. Artikel yang review sebanyak 6 artikel dan dipublikasikan 5 tahun terakhir yaitu 2017-2021. Pencarian artikel menggunakan Google Scholar dan Springerlink. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya pengaruh antara pendidikan kesehatan terhadap pengetahuan ibu tentang ASI Ekslusif.  Pengetahuan seseorang dapat dipengaruhi oleh umur dan tingkat pendidikan seseorang. Kesimpulan, tujuan dari promosi kesehatan atau pendidikan kesehatan yaitu merubah perilaku individu atau masyarakat dalam bidang kesehatan. Untuk merubah perilaku maka promosi kesehatan diharuskan memiliki dampak jangka pendek yaitu menambah pengetahuan sasaran yang dituju Agar pendidikan kesehatan dapat efektif dilakukan dapat dilakukan dengan diskusi atau ceramah menggunakan media media promosi kesehatan yang dipilih, menggunakan bahasa yang mudah di mengerti, di sesuaikan dengan tingkat pendidikan responden, dan di lakukan di jam jam yang efektif.Kata Kunci: Pengetahuan, Ibu, ASI Eksklusif AbstractBreast milk is the best food for babies, because it contains nutrients that are in accordance with the baby's needs, the nutritional content contained in breast milk is perfect and very beneficial for babies. Globally, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding is still low, namely 42%. The research objective was to examine the effect of health education on maternal knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding. This study uses a literature review method, namely by collecting research results in the form of scientific articles or literature studies. The articles that were reviewed were 6 articles and published in the last 5 years, namely 2017-2021. Search for articles using Google Scholar and Springerlink. The results showed that there was an influence between health education on maternal knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding. A person's knowledge can be influenced by a person's age and level of education. In conclusion, the goal of health promotion or health education is to change the behavior of individuals or communities in the health sector. To change behavior, health promotion is required to have a short-term impact, namely increasing target knowledge so that health education can be effectively carried out by discussing or lecturing using selected health promotion media, using language that is easy to understand, adjusted to the respondent's education level , and done in the hours that are effective.Keywords: Knowledge, Mother, Exclusive Breastfeeding

Abstract

Aims: This review aimed to examine the effects of communication barriers, identify effective communication strategies, and determine appropriate interaction content for patients receiving mechanical ventilation. Methods: A scoping review approach was conducted using four databases: EBSCOhost, Elsevier, PubMed, and ProQuest, selected for their extensive health-related collections. Eligible studies were published between 2015 and 2025, written in English, and utilized quantitative or qualitative designs. The search incorporated keywords related to communication barriers, ventilated patients, intensive care, and critical care. Data was synthesized through systematic collation, summarization, and reporting. Results: Of 1,239 records identified, 20 studies met the inclusion criteria. Findings indicated that communication challenges affected patients, nurses, and family members, with consequences categorized as psychological and care-related impacts. Two primary communication approaches were identified: unaided and aided methods, with aided strategies further divided into low-technology and high-technology tools. Communication content clustered into three domains: expressing patient needs and desires, conveying complaints, and facilitating care-related interactions. Conclusion: Communication barriers significantly influence the well-being of patients, nurses, and families in intensive care settings. Both unaided and aided communication strategies can enhance interactions with mechanically ventilated patients. Structured communication focusing on patient needs and desires, concerns, and caregiving elements is essential to promote care quality and support patient well-being.

Abstract

Status gizi, terutama kondisi obesitas pada karyawan dewasa, merupakan aspek krusial yang berdampak pada kesehatan dan produktivitas kerja, namun hal ini sering kali diabaikan dalam lingkungan industri. Aktivitas fisik dan tingkat stres diduga berperan signifikan dalam menentukan status gizi, namun bukti empiris terkait hal tersebut masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh aktivitas fisik dan tingkat stres terhadap status gizi karyawan dewasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional dengan 106 subjek karyawan dewasa PT. Kaltim Prima Coal, Kabupaten Kutai Timur, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode consecutive sampling. Aktivitas fisik diukur dengan menggunakan International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), tingkat stres dengan Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21), status gizi dengan pengukuran antropometri Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT), dan perilaku makan sebagai co-founding factor menggunakan Adult Eating Behaviour Questionnaire (AEBQ). Uji statistik menggunakan SPSS versi 25 dengan uji Spearman dan regresi logistik ordinal. Hasil analisis bivariat menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara aktivitas fisik dan tingkat stres dengan status gizi, dengan nilai p masing-masing 0,039 dan 0,048 serta nilai r sebesar -0,588 dan 0,441. Sementara itu, perilaku makan tidak menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan dengan status gizi (p = 0,242; r = 0,114). Analisis multivariat mengindikasikan bahwa aktivitas fisik menjadi faktor yang berpengaruh paling kuat terhadap status gizi.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Budaya berpengaruh terhadap keputusan dan perilaku terkait gizi-kesehatan suatu masyarakat adat.  Seperti yang diketahui perilaku gizi-kesehatan yang salah dapat berdampak buruk seperti kurang gizi bahkan sampai mengakibatkan kematian ibu dan anak.Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat pendidikan dan perilaku gizi-kesehatan ibu balita pada masyarakat adat Samin di Jawa Tengah.Metode: Penelitian deskriptif dengan mixed method ini melibatkan 88 ibu balita masyarakat adat Samin di Kabupaten Kudus, Pati, dan Blora, Jawa Tengah. Tingkat pengetahuan, dan persepsi gizi-kesehatan diperoleh dari hasil persentase jawaban benar pada kuesioner yang kemudian di kategorikan ke dalam tiga tingkatan. Uji korelasi Spearman juga dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antar variabel.Hasil: Hasil menunjukan 98% ibu balita pada kelompok Kudus-Pati tidak bersekolah sedang 68,4% ibu balita di Blora telah mengenyam pendidikan dasar. 50% ibu balita di Kudus-Pati memiliki tingkat pengetahuan yang rendah, namun 55,3% ibu balita di Blora memiliki tingkat pengetahuan sedang. 68% ibu balita di Kudus-Pati memiliki persepsi negatif, namun 73,7% ibu balita di Blora telah memiliki persepsi gizi-kesehatan yang positfi. Uji beda juga menunjukan perbedaan signifikan (p<0,05) pada kedua kelompok terkait dua variable tersebut. Uji korelasi juga menunjukan adanya hubungan antara tingkat pendidikan, pengetahuan, dan persepsi ibu balita (p<0,05).Simpulan: Simpulan yang dapat diambil dari hasil penelitian ialah terdapat perbedaan antara tingkat pendidikan, pengetahuan, dan persepsi ibu balita antar kedua kelompok di mana ibu balita di Blora lebih baik dibanding ibu balita di Kudus-Pati.

Abstract

Stunting and anemia are prevalent nutritional problems that often concurrently occur in young children, particularly in developing countries such as Indonesia. The coexistence of these conditions can have long-lasting adverse effect on a child’s health, cognitive development, and future productivity. This study aimed to investigate the determinants of concurrent anemia and stunting in children aged 6–36 months in Semarang City. A cross-sectional study design was employed from June to September 2024, involving 100 stunted children selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through structured interviews using questionnaires, anthropometric measurements, hemoglobin testing, and observations of caregiving practices. Bivariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were conducted to identify factors associated with the occurrence of concurrent anemia and stunting. Several factors were found to be significantly associated with concurrent anemia and stunting, including birth length <48 cm (OR = 6.190; p = 0.027), incomplete immunization history (OR = 16.024; p = 0.035), preterm birth (OR = 6.539; p = 0.015), poor maternal attitudes toward feeding practices (OR = 33.459; p = 0.018), and inappropriate complementary feeding practices (OR = 7.889; p = 0.007). A paternal history of smoking also showed a tendency to be a risk factor (p = 0.080). The co-occurrence of anemia and stunting is a complex issue influenced by a multitude of factors, including biological, behavioral, and household or environmental determinants. To effectively address this issue, integrated interventions should be implemented, focusing on enhancing immunization coverage, providing targeted nutrition education, strengthening antenatal care, and promoting positive caregiving practices.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Neno Boha merupakan tradisi pasca persalinan masyarakat Timor yang mencakup praktik Se’i (pengasapan ibu dan bayi), Tatobi (kompres air panas), serta pantangan makanan. Praktik ini berpotensi menimbulkan risiko kesehatan, seperti gangguan pernapasan akibat paparan asap, luka bakar dan infeksi kulit dari penggunaan air panas, serta kekurangan gizi akibat pembatasan konsumsi makanan, yang dapat berdampak pada kesehatan ibu dan bayi. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis persepsi ibu menyusui terhadap tradisi Neno Boha menggunakan pendekatan Health Belief Model (HBM). Metode: Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap 13 informan, terdiri atas 5 ibu menyusui sebagai informan utama dan 8 informan triangulasi, yaitu tokoh masyarakat, bidan desa, tenaga gizi, serta anggota keluarga ibu menyusui. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa praktik utama Neno Boha masih dijalankan karena keyakinan akan manfaatnya dalam pemulihan pasca persalinan. Namun, sebagian ibu mulai meninggalkan praktik Se’i karena meningkatnya kesadaran terhadap risiko gangguan pernapasan pada bayi. Praktik Tatobi mengalami modifikasi dengan penggunaan air hangat untuk mengurangi resiko luka bakar, sementara pola konsumsi makanan mulai bergeser ke arah yang lebih bergizi. Faktor ekonomi menjadi hambatan utama dalam perubahan pola makan akibat keterbatasan akses terhadap sumber protein dan pangan bergizi. Edukasi tenaga kesehatan dan dukungan kebijakan pemerintah berperan dalam mendorong perubahan praktik menuju pendekatan yang lebih aman. Kesimpulan: Diperlukan intervensi kesehatan berbasis budaya yang disertai dukungan ekonomi untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan ibu dan bayi. Background: Neno Boha is a postpartum tradition among the Timorese community that includes Se’i (smoking of mothers and infants), Tatobi (hot water compress), and dietary restrictions. These practices may pose health risks, such as respiratory disorders due to smoke exposure, burns and skin infections from hot water use, and malnutrition resulting from dietary restrictions, which can adversely affect maternal and infant health. Objectives: This study aimed to analyze breastfeeding mothers’ perceptions of the Neno Boha tradition using the Health Belief Model (HBM) approach. Methods: This qualitative study employed a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 13 informants, consisting of five breastfeeding mothers as primary informants and eight triangulation informants, including a community leader, a village midwife, a nutritionist, and family members of breastfeeding mothers. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Results: The findings showed that the main practices of Neno Boha are still maintained due to beliefs in their benefits for postpartum recovery. However, some mothers have begun to abandon the Se’i practice due to increased awareness of the risk of respiratory problems in infants. The Tatobi practice has been modified by using warm water to reduce the risk of burns, while dietary patterns have gradually shifted toward more nutritious food consumption. Economic factors remain a major barrier to dietary changes due to limited access to protein sources and nutritious foods. Health education provided by healthcare workers and government policy support play an important role in encouraging safer practices. Conclusions: Culturally sensitive health interventions accompanied by economic support are needed to improve maternal and infant well-being.

Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the global population and various aspects of life. Although the infection can be cured, COVID-19 may cause long-term effects on the health of patients who have been declared virus-free. The quality of life of COVID-19 survivors has been reported to remain relatively low. Nutritional factors could play a role in the recovery process.Objectives: evaluating the correlation between diet quality and quality of life in COVID-19 survivors.Methods: a cross-sectional study involving 96 COVID-19 survivors aged over 18 years was conducted in Banyumas Regency, Central Java. Data collection took place two years following the post-infection phase. Quality of life was assessed using the Indonesian version of the WHOQOL-BREF. Diet quality was measured using the Diet Quality Index-International (DQI-I). We evaluated dietary intake using SQ-FFQ and analyzed it with NutriSurvey software. Pearson and Spearman correlation tests were applied to analyze the data, using IBM Statistic SPSS version 23.Results The physical and psychological domains of quality of life among COVID-19 survivors had lower median scores compared to the social and environmental domains. Most of survivors (83.3%) had poor diet quality. Intake of vegetables, fiber, and calcium was below daily recommendations, while fat intake was excessive, resulting in an imbalance in macronutrient and micronutrient ratios. There was a positive correlation between overall diet quality scores, including dietary diversity, nutrient adequacy (particularly fruit and fiber intake), and nutrient balance. Conversely, intake of total fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, and empty calorie foods showed a negative correlation with quality of life.Conclusion: Nutrient intake plays a contributory role in the rehabilitation process of COVID-19 survivors. Greater attention should be given to the dietary patterns and types of foods consumed by this population.Keywords : diet quality; nutrition; quality of life; COVID-19 survivor. ABSTRAKLatar belakang: pandemi COVID-19 berdampak besar terhadap populasi dunia dan berbagai aspek kehidupan. Meskipun bisa disembuhkan, infeksi COVID-19 dapat menimbulkan efek jangka panjang pada kesehatan pasien yang dinyatakan terbebas dari virus. Kualitas hidup penyintas COVID-19 dilaporkan masih tergolong rendah. Faktor gizi mungkin berperan dalam proses penyembuhan penyakit. Tujuan: mengevaluasi korelasi kualitas diet dengan kualitas hidup pada penyintas COVID-19.Metode: studi potong lintang yang melibatkan 96 partisipan berusia >18 tahun. Penelitian dilakukan di Kabupaten Banyumas, Jawa Tengah, pada penyintas COVID-19 pascainfeksi 2 tahun. Kualitas hidup dinilai dengan WHOQOL-BREF versi Indonesia. Kualitas diet diukur dengan Diet Quality Index International (DQI-I). Asupan makanan dihitung dengan instrumen SQ-FFQ dengan bantuan software nutrisurvey. Uji korelasi pearson dan spearman digunakan untuk analisis data, dengan bantuan software IBM Statistic SPSS 23.Hasil: kualitas hidup penyintas COVID-19 pada domain fisik dan psikis memiliki median yang lebih rendah dari domain sosial dan lingkungan. Kualitas diet penyintas COVID-19 sebagian besar (83,3%) tergolong rendah. Asupan sayur, serat, dan kalsium kurang dari rekomendasi harian. Asupan lemak responden tinggi, sehingga rasio asupan makronutrien dan mikronutrien tidak seimbang. Terdapat korelasi positif antara skor total kualitas diet, keragaman pangan, kecukupan asupan zat gizi yang berasal dari asupan buah dan serat, dan keseimbangan zat gizi, dengan kualitas hidup penyintas COVID-19. Sebaliknya, asupan lemak total, lemak jenuh, kolesterol, dan makanan rendah gizi, berkorelasi negatif dengan kualitas hidup.Simpulan: asupan zat gizi terbukti berkontribusi terhadap proses rehabilitasi penyintas COVID-19. Perlu adanya perhatian lebih pada pola makan dan jenis asupan yang dikonsumsi penyintas COVID-19.Kata Kunci : Kualitas diet; gizi; kualitas hidup; penyintas COVID-19

Abstract

Wasting is a form of malnutrition that is a significant concern globally, including in Indonesia. It has a detrimental impact on children's health, the quality of human resources, and a country's overall development. This study aims to examine the prevalence and risk factors associated with wasting in children aged 6–23 months in Indonesia. The study design is cross-sectional, utilizing secondary data from the 2022 Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey. Data collection was conducted throughout Indonesia between March and December 2022. The sample size for this study was 70,414 children aged between 6 and 23 months. Bivariate analysis (χ2 test) was employed to determine the relationship between dependent and independent variables. Furthermore, multivariate analysis utilized logistic binary regression tests to ascertain the adjusted odd ratio (aOR) risk value. The results of this study indicate that the prevalence of children aged 6–23 months in Indonesia is 7.63%, with wasting. The following factors have been identified as being at high risk of wasting: boys, children aged 12-23 months, birth weight <2500 grams, birth length <48 cm, history of exclusive breastfeeding, consumption of empty calorie drinks, history of infectious diseases, inappropriate/complete immunizations, lack of use of health services, inappropriate drinking water sources and very poor family status. Wasting is associated with several factors. Consequently, identifying these factors is of significant importance in the context of intervention efforts to prevent and address malnutrition, including wasting, in Indonesia.
