Abstract

Abstract

Background: COVID-19 has become a global crisis that has created public health problems. The impact of COVID-19 infection primarily affects the respiratory tract. The most prominent impairments in COVID-19 infection include difficulty breathing and decreased blood oxygen saturation. This review aims to identify available literature related to the effects of proning techniques on improving respiratory rate and oxygenation (ROX) indices, namely SPO2 and PaO2/FiO2 fractions, in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) due to COVID-19. Methods: A literature review design was employed. An online search strategy was conducted using major electronic databases, including Scopus, PubMed, Science Direct, ProQuest, and Google Scholar. This review design used the Preferred Reporting Items for Systemic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) Guidelines. The literature sources reviewed ranged from 2020 to 2025. Ten articles met the criteria and were reviewed. Results: A total of 387 articles met the screening criteria: 159 articles were identified after screening for duplication, 25 articles met the criteria for full-text review and eligibility, and 15 articles were excluded due to study design and irrelevant results. Ten articles met the criteria and were reviewed. Conclusion: Proning is the use of a prone position that can improve the body's oxygenation adequacy index, both ROX with the SpO₂ indicator and the PaO₂/FiO₂ ratio, and these findings highlight the health practice that healthcare professionals play a key role in assessing oxygenation status, safely applying prone positioning, and closely monitoring patient responses to optimize respiratory outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the fundamental role of Pantun as a medium of communication and cultural expression that embodies values of character education. It specifically seeks to identify how these values can be integrated into building the Profile of Pancasila Students in the multicultural era. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected from Pantun delivered by Mr. Mastur, a rhyme speaker and palace guard of the Almukarramah Palace. The poems reflecting character education values were classified, analyzed, and interpreted through a hermeneutic approach, particularly Ricoeur’s interpretive model. The findings reveal that Pantun contains a variety of character education values, including: patriotism and truth, responsibility, discipline, and independence, trust, respect and politeness, affection, attention, and hard work, self-confidence, creativity, and perseverance, justice and leadership, kindness and humility, and tolerance and love for peace. These values represent noble moral messages and cultural identity that are highly relevant to the realization of the Pancasila Student Profile in a multicultural context. Pantun serves not only as a literary and cultural heritage of the Malay community but also as an effective medium for instilling character education. Its integration into educational practices enriches the cultural and multicultural dimensions of learning, contributing to the holistic development of student character. The study highlights the importance of local cultural wisdom, particularly Pantun, in strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile. Future research is recommended to expand the analysis of Pantun across regions and multicultural settings, and to develop pedagogical models that implement Pantun-based character education in formal and informal environments.

Abstract

Background: Metal-ceramic crowns remain a primary choice for dental restoration due to their adequate mechanical strength and relatively low cost. However, their esthetic success depends on the color stability of the porcelain, particularly the opaque layer that masks the underlying metal. Nanosilica derived from rice husks is an environmentally friendly material with potential as a reinforcing agent, but data on its effect on color changes in metal-ceramic crowns remain limited. This study aimed to analyze the effect of adding 0.5% rice husk nanosilica to the opaque layer on color changes in metal-ceramic crowns. Methods: An in vitro experimental study used Co-Cr metal samples coated with porcelain, with color evaluation based on the CIELAB system (L*, a*, b*) via colorimeter before and after nanosilica addition. Nanosilica was synthesized from rice husks and characterized using particle size analysis and scanning electron microscopy. Data were analyzed with Shapiro-Wilk test, Levene test, Welch t-test, and paired t-test.  Results: Characterization results showed nanosilica particles in the nanoscale range with two main distribution peaks and amorphous, spherical morphology with agglomeration tendency. L* values increased significantly, whereas changes in a* and b* values showed no significant differences.  Conclusion: These findings indicate that adding 0.5% rice husk nanosilica to the opaque layer increases brightness and total color change in metal-ceramic crowns, requiring esthetic control in its application.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of local-wisdom-based animated folklore videos in increasing elementary students’ reading interest using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The analysis includes 25 scientific articles published from 2020–2025 sourced from Google Scholar, ERIC, and ScienceDirect. The findings show that 80% of the reviewed studies report significant improvements in reading interest, motivation, and comprehension when animated folklore media is implemented. Three core mechanisms support effectiveness: (1) visual and emotional engagement that stimulates intrinsic motivation, (2) cultural and moral value integration that strengthens contextual understanding, and (3) multimodal presentation combining audio, visual, and textual elements to aid comprehension. Despite positive outcomes, challenges were identified, such as limited digital infrastructure and teacher capacity. The study concludes that animated folklore videos are an effective and culturally relevant medium to enhance literacy. Future research is suggested to validate the model empirically through experimental classroom studies across diverse regional contexts.

Abstract

High population growth in Pahandut District, Palangka Raya City, has created significant pressure on urban housing demand. The limited availability of affordable residential land, particularly for low-income communities, has driven the use of informal spaces, including the Kahayan Riverbank area. The river buffer zone, which should function as an ecological protection area, has developed into a densely populated settlement with low-quality infrastructure, resulting in slum conditions, environmental degradation, and increased risks of flooding and public health problem. This issue is multidimensional, encompassing demographic, spatial planning, socio-economic, and environmental aspects. This policy paper aims to analyze the factors contributing to density and slum conditions along the Kahayan Riverbank and to formulate effective and sustainable policy alternatives. The method used is descriptive-qualitative policy analysis with a comparative approach to several policy alternatives, namely spatial planning enforcement and relocation, slum upgrading, the provision of affordable housing, and integrated riverbank management based on the Waterfront City concept. The analysis indicates that partial approaches are insufficient to comprehensively address the root causes of the problem. The most relevant policy alternative is integrated riverbank management based on the Waterfront City concept, which combines selective relocation, the provision of affordable vertical housing, ecological revitalization of the river buffer zone, and river-based local economic development. This approach is considered capable of reducing density and slum conditions while simultaneously improving environmental quality and enhancing the area’s competitiveness. This policy is expected to transform the Kahayan Riverbank from a slum area into a productive and sustainable public space, while supporting the realization of an orderly and competitive spatial structure for Palangka Raya City.
