Abstract

Abstract. Amidst growing cultural diversity in Indonesian schools, this study investigates interpersonal conflict among students in multicultural secondary schools and explores how the local value Songu Lara Mombangu informs school-based conflict mediation. Using a qualitative multiple-case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis in three culturally diverse schools in Central Sulawesi. Findings reveal that conflict often arises not from ethnic identity, but from miscommunication, divergent social norms, and peer dynamics. Although students’ awareness of Songu Lara Mombangu is limited, its values are reflected in daily practices of cooperation and relational repair. The study underscores the importance of culturally responsive counseling grounded in local wisdom. It contributes to expanding theories of social identity and intersectionality by offering a contextualized lens for conflict resolution. These insights support the development of inclusive educational policies and training programs that align with students’ cultural realities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the arrival process of Javanese farmers in Kotaraya Village through the Indonesian government's transmigration program and to examine the development of agriculture and agricultural tools in the village. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, the findings reveal that the arrival of Javanese farmers since 1973 significantly transformed the physical, economic, and social landscape of Kotaraya Village. Previously uncultivated bushland was collectively converted into productive rice fields and structured settlements. Javanese farmers introduced irrigation systems, adaptive cropping patterns, and semi-modern agricultural technologies, facilitating a transition from traditional to more efficient farming methods. The development of agricultural machinery, particularly the shift from animal-drawn plows to tractors and post-harvest machines, has demonstrably enhanced productivity and community welfare. Furthermore, the presence of Javanese transmigrants fostered harmonious cultural acculturation with indigenous communities, wherein Javanese cultural identity remains preserved. This research concludes that the transmigration program served as a catalyst for agricultural transformation and sustainable social integration in Kotaraya Village..

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in History subjects through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model combined with the Teaching at The Right Level (TaRL) approach. The study was conducted in class XD of SMA Negeri 4 Palu in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year with 30 students, consisting of 10 male students and 20 female students. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. The results of the observation showed that the majority of students had low interest and learning outcomes. After the application of the PBL model and the TaRL approach, there was a significant increase in learning outcomes. The average student score from 68.4 in the pre-cycle to 74.2 in cycle 1 and reached 81.6 in cycle II. The percentage of learning completion from 33.3% increased to 90%. The results of the study show that the application of the PBL model with the TaRL approach is able to create an active, collaborative and participatory learning atmosphere, and help students understand historical material according to their respective ability levels.
