Abstract

This study examines how well fourth- and sixth-semester students at UPMI Medan can translate short stories as part of their assignment in the Indonesian-English Interpretation subject study. The translation used five methods: Borrowing, Literal Translation, Transcription, Modulation, and Adaptation. The text analysis was based on the acceptability rating instrument and readability rating instrument theories. To determine the final score, the translation assessment guidelines by Machali (2000: 119-120) were used. The results show that the students' translation skills are at a moderate level, with their ability, their direct translations are acceptable, and the overall quality of their translation is also acceptable. The benefit of this study is to determine the extent of students' abilities in translating texts, so that they can be followed up and directed to areas where they are lacking in translation

Abstract

This study aims to explore ethics and language use on social media by the digital generation. Social media has become the main communication platform for this generation, but inappropriate language use and unethical behavior are often significant problems. This study uses a qualitative method, conducted by collecting data through in-depth interviews to analyze how the digital generation understands and applies ethics and chooses language in their interactions on social media. The findings show that although the digital generation has a sufficient understanding of the importance of ethics and good language, they are often caught up in social dynamics that lead to violations of ethical norms. This study also found that education and awareness of digital ethics are very important in shaping more responsible online behavior. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of policies and educational programs aimed at improving digital literacy and ethics among social media users.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil regresi data primer yang diolah dengan menggunakan SPSS 20, diperoleh persamaan regresi linier berganda sebagai berikut : 14,854 + 0,380 X1 + 0,234 X2 + e. Secara parsial, variabel upah (X1) memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan, terbukti dari nilai t hitung > t tabel (3,728 > 1,987). Variabel etos kerja (X2) memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan, terbukti dari nilai t hitung > t tabel (2,216 > 1,987). Secara simultan, variabel upah (X1) dan etos kerja (X2) memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Artinya hipotesis pada penelitian ini diterima, terbukti dari nilai F hitung > F tabel (11,125 > 3,10). Variabel upah (X1) dan etos kerja (X2) mampu memberikan kontribusi pengaruh terhadap variabel kinerja karyawan sebesar 20,4% sedangkan sisanya sebesar 79,4% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini.

Abstract

The Qur’an as the primary source of Islamic teachings not only provides guidance on worship and creed but also establishes fundamental principles governing social, political, and governmental life. One of the central themes emphasized in the Qur’an is leadership (imāmah), which is understood not merely as political authority but as a moral and spiritual mandate that entails accountability before both society and Allah. This study aims to analyze the concept of leaders and leadership in the Qur’an through a thematic interpretation approach. Employing qualitative library research, data were collected from classical and contemporary Qur’anic commentaries, scholarly books, and reputable journal articles relevant to Islamic leadership. The study focuses on key Qur’anic leadership terminologies such as khalīfah, imāmah, and ulū al-amr, as well as the ethical principles underlying leadership, including faith, justice, trustworthiness, deliberation (shūrā), and responsibility. The findings reveal that Qur’anic leadership is characterized by moral integrity, justice, and accountability, with obedience to leaders being conditional upon their adherence to divine values. The Qur’an positions leaders as role models tasked with safeguarding public welfare and upholding justice. This study concludes that revitalizing Qur’anic leadership principles is essential for addressing contemporary leadership crises and for building governance systems that are ethical, trustworthy, and oriented toward societal welfare.

Abstract

The Islamic education value-based curriculum evaluation system is an important element in realising holistic madrasah education. This study aims to analyse the Islamic education value-based curriculum evaluation system in madrasahs, including planning, evaluation models, and implementation effectiveness. This study uses a qualitative case study approach that integrates in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The uniqueness of this study lies in its holistic approach, which combines authentic, character-based, and habituative assessment models to measure students’ cognitive, affective, spiritual, and social aspects. The results of the study show that the evaluation plan was systematically developed in accordance with KMA Number 1503 of 2025 and integrated Islamic values into learning indicators, attitude assessment, worship, and morals. Evaluation has evolved into a holistic assessment that covers cognitive, affective, spiritual, and social aspects through authentic assessment, observation, attitude journals, and religious habits. The evaluation model applied is effective in shaping students’ discipline, honesty, responsibility, and awareness of worship. This research reinforces the importance of Islamic value-based evaluation, strengthens Islamic character and the quality of madrasah education, and makes new contributions to Islamic education research through a holistic, integrated evaluation approach.

Abstract

Kurikulum memiliki peran strategis dalam menentukan arah dan kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah. Namun, dalam praktiknya, pengembangan dan implementasi kurikulum di Indonesia masih menghadapi berbagai permasalahan, terutama minimnya hubungan antara tujuan pembelajaran, proses pembelajaran, dan sistem penilaian. Kondisi tersebut berdampak pada rendahnya pemahaman konseptual, kemampuan berpikir kritis, serta penerapan pengetahuan peserta didik dalam kehidupan nyata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji urgensi penerapan pendekatan understanding by design (UbD) dalam pengembangan kurikulum di Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kajian normatif dengan menganalisis konsep, prinsip, dan teori UbD serta relevansinya terhadap permasalahan pengembangan kurikulum. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan UbD, melalui prinsip backward design, mampu mengintegrasikan tujuan pembelajaran, asesmen, dan pengalaman belajar secara sistematis dan berorientasi pada pencapaian kompetensi jangka panjang. Selain itu UbD sejalan dengan tujuan kebijakan Pendidikan nasional. Dengan demikian, penerapan understanding by design (UbD) menjadi pendekatan yang strategis untuk meningkatkan kualitas, efektivitas, serta kebermaknaan pembelajaran dalam pengembangan kurikulum di Indonesia.

Abstract

Poetry is a form of literary expression that contains the beauty of language and deep meaning, often reflecting human experiences, emotions, and thoughts. Through the use of metaphors, symbols, and distinctive language structures, poetry has the ability to convey complex and emotionally evocative messages to the reader. Therefore, poetry analysis is important to uncover hidden meanings, understand the message that the poet wants to convey, and explore the social and cultural context behind it. This study aims to analyze the image of women in Nadir's poem Perempuan Pendoa, focusing on the inner struggles experienced by female characters. The issue raised is how this poem reflects women's strengths and vulnerabilities in a patriarchal social context. The methods used are heuristic and hermeneutic analysis, which allows for an in-depth understanding of the structure of language and the meanings it contains. The results of the study show that this poem depicts the duality of women's emotions, where fortitude goes hand in hand with doubt, and reflects the challenges faced by women in expressing themselves. This analysis confirms that poetry is not only an art form, but also a medium to convey women's experiences and struggles, as well as a reflection of the social realities that affect their lives.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of academic supervision and its impact on the quality of learning at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Terpadu Pekanbaru. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The research participants included the principal, the vice principal for curriculum affairs, and teachers. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that academic supervision at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Terpadu Pekanbaru is implemented systematically through the stages of planning, implementation, and follow-up. The planning stage involves structured scheduling, the formation of a supervision team, and the use of supervision instruments. The implementation stage is carried out through classroom observations using an objective and collaborative approach. Follow-up activities include reflective discussions, coaching, and professional development training for teachers. Academic supervision has a positive impact on learning quality, as reflected in improvements in lesson planning and instructional practices, enhanced teachers’ pedagogical competence, and the development of a culture of quality learning within the school. Thus, academic supervision plays a strategic role in supporting sustainable improvement in learning quality.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan e-commerce di Indonesia telah mendorong meningkatnya permintaan terhadap layanan logistik yang tidak hanya cepat, tetapi juga mampu memberikan pengalaman layanan yang berkualitas. Salah satu faktor penting dalam menciptakan loyalitas pelanggan adalah aspek Courier empathy dan Timely Delivery yang mewakili interaksi langsung antara penyedia jasa dan konsumen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Courier empathy dan Timely Delivery terhadap loyalitas pelanggan pengguna J&T Express pada platform Shopee di Kota Sukabumi. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan penyebaran kuesioner kepada 100 responden yang pernah menggunakan J&T Express di Shopee minimal dua kali dalam tiga bulan terakhir. Teknik penarikan sample yang digunakan Purposive Sampling, Sementara data dianalisis dengan regresi linier berganda menggunakan SPSS untuk menguji pengaruh simultan maupun parsial antar variabel. Hasil yang diharapkan dari penelitian ini akan menunjukkan bahwa Timely Delivery berpengaruh signifikan terhadap loyalitas pelanggan, sementara Courier empathy juga memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap pengalaman konsumen. Secara bersama-sama, kedua variabel ini meningkatkan loyalitas pelanggan secara signifikan. Temuan ini diharapkan akan memiliki implikasi praktis bagi perusahaan ekspedisi dan E-commerce, khususnya dalam merancang strategi layanan yang menekankan ketepatan pengiriman sekaligus interaksi kurir yang lebih empatik untuk menjaga keberlanjutan loyalitas pelanggan.
