Abstract

The rapid development of the beauty industry requires vocational education institutions, particularly Beauty Vocational High Schools, to produce graduates who are not only technically skilled but also adaptable to the dynamics of the job market. However, many vocational school graduates are considered unprepared for work, raising questions about the relevance of the curriculum, teacher competence, and alignment with industry needs. This study aims to evaluate the curriculum standards of Beauty Vocational High Schools in Malang Raya, assess teachers' professional competencies, and explore industry expectations for vocational graduates. The results indicate that the curriculum remains focused on basic techniques and has not incorporated modern makeup trends, small business management, and the use of digital media. Teachers' competencies are also suboptimal due to limited industry training, resulting in teaching methods that are conventional and lack contextual relevance. The industry expects graduates who are ready to work, communicative, and able to promote services independently. The gap between school learning and field practice underscores the need for closer collaboration between schools and the workplace. The implications of these findings emphasize the importance of curriculum updates, enhancing teacher capacity through industry training, and strengthening Teaching Factories to improve graduate competitiveness.

Abstract

Early marriage remains a serious issue that negatively impacts the reproductive health, education, economy, and psychology of adolescents. Ironically, social media often romanticizes this practice, thereby potentially reinforcing misperceptions and reducing reproductive health literacy. The lack of empirical research on the role of social media in shaping adolescents' knowledge about early marriage has created a gap in the literature that needs to be addressed. Lo988 A two-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental research design with a sample of 336 adolescents (168 intervention, 168 control) from SMAN 5 and SMAN 7 Cirebon, selected through simple random sampling. The intervention consisted of health education through animated videos and discussions via WhatsApp. Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test with SPSS. The results showed that the intervention group experienced a significant increase in knowledge after education (p < 0.05), with the majority of respondents before the intervention, 88 people (52.38%), in the “poor” category. after the intervention, 89 respondents (52.98%) were categorized as “adequate” and 74 respondents (44.05%) were categorized as “good.” The control group showed only minimal changes. Therefore, future researchers are advised to develop interventions based on teenage influencers to expand the reach and sustainability of promotion.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the profitability of Islamic Banks in Indonesia by considering internal performance factors, macroeconomic factors, and the influence of financial technology. Profitability is a crucial indicator in evaluating the financial performance of banks and maintaining their operational viability in a competitive market. This study uses a quantitative approach with secondary data from the financial statements of 10 Islamic Banks in Indonesia over a certain period (10 years). Internal performance variables that are the focus of the study include traditional profitability ratios such as Return of Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE), as well as factors such as NPF (Non-Performing Financing). In addition, macroeconomic factors such as interest rates, national economic growth, and inflation, are also considered in this analysis. The results showed that partially the variables FDR (X1), INFLATION (X5), INTEREST (X6), INTEREST RATE (X7), GDP (X8), FINTECH (X9) had no effect on ROA (Y). However, the variables BOPO (X2), DPK (X3) and SIZE (X4) have an effect on ROA (Y), where the value obtained based on the probability is 0.0000 (X2), 0.0153 (X3) and 0.0548 (X4). However, when viewed simultaneously, the Independent variables jointly affect the dependent variable.

Abstract

This qualitative study analyzes the development of practical tour guide skills among vocational high school students based on Kolb's Experiential Learning Theory (Pondok & Nurul, 2021) . Through interviews, observations, and document studies, a significant gap was found between the curriculum, which focuses on guiding techniques, and the industry's need for soft skills such as interpersonal communication, problem solving, and adaptability (Firdausia, 2025) . The implementation of the Kolb cycle, particularly the reflection and active experimentation stages post-work practice, was identified as suboptimal, resulting in graduates' competencies not fully aligning with the rapidly evolving dynamics of the tourism industry.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance of digital skills among graduates of the Office Automation and Governance (OTKP) vocational program at SMK Negeri 1 Bandung with the needs of the labor market in the digital era. The research employed a qualitative case study approach involving productive teachers, graduates, and industry representatives as key informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The results indicate that graduates possess strong basic digital skills such as office software operation and online communication, but exhibit limited competence in virtual collaboration, cloud-based data management, and digital security. The skill gap is influenced by curriculum limitations, insufficient teacher training, and inadequate digital facilities. The study highlights the importance of strengthening the link and match between vocational schools and industries, as well as integrating adaptive digital skills into vocational curricula. The implication of this study emphasizes the need for developing a digital project-based learning model to enhance graduates’ employability and adaptability in the digital transformation era.
