Abstract

Abstract The aim of the study is to develop the multimedia learning based on scientific literacy for junior high school students on the theme of technology. Moreover, the study was also done to examine the effectiveness of the multimedia in enhancing students’ scientific literacy. Multimedia in science learning can create more meaningful learning process, so the vision of scientific literacy can be achieved. This study used research and development (R&D) methods with ADDIE design (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The stage of analysis, design, and development are a development stage of multimedia learning based on scienctific literacy. The implementation and evaluation stage are the stage of implementation multimedia in science teaching in SMP Cimahi. Multimedia learning based on scienctific literacy on the theme of technology has a design that adapts to the scientific literacy from PISA, there are context domain, competence of science domain and scientific knowledge domain. The use of multimedia learning based on scienctific literacy can enhance students’ scienctific literacy for 65,64%. In the competence of science domain for 62.35%, scientific knowledge domain for 57.02% and students attitude toward for 60,12%. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan dan mengetahui efektifitas penggunaan multimedia pembelajaran berbasis literasi sains untuk siswa SMP pada tema Teknologi. Multimedia dalam pembelajaran sains dapat menciptakan proses pembelajaran yang lebih bermakna, dengan demikian visi literasi sains yaitu membekali siswa dengan pengetahuan konsep sains yang benar serta mampu menerapkan konsep sains pada fenomena kehidupan sehari-hari dapat tercapai. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan desain ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), tahap analysis, design, dan development merupakan tahap pengembangan multimedia pembelajaran berbasis literasi sains. Sementara tahap implementation dan evaluation merupakan tahap penerapan multimedia dalam pembelajaran di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Cimahi. Multimedia pembelajaran berbasis literasi sains pada tema teknologi memiliki desain yang menyesuaikan dengan domain literasi sains yaitu konteks, kompetensi sains dan pengetahuan sains. Penggunaan multimedia pembelajaran berbasis literasi sains dapat meningkatkan literasi sains siswa secara keseluruhan sebesar 65,64%. Sementara itu pada domain kompetensi sains peningkatannya sebesar 70,1%, domain pengetahuan sains sebesar 63,7% dan domain sikap siswa terhadap sains sebesar 60,12%.Permalink/DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15408/es.v7i2.1761

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terhadap kepercayaan diri siswa.Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAN 24 Kabupaten Tangerang pada bulan Januari-Juni 2013. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen, subyek dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 77 siswa, dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok: yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Desain penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah nonequivalent control group design.Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket kepercayaan diri siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan kepercayaan diri siswa untuk kelompok eksperimen (rata-rata N-Gain = 0,07) lebih rendah daripada kelompok kontrol (rata-rata N-Gain= 0,15). Setelah dilakukan uji Mann-Whitney (pada taraf signifikansi 95%) diperoleh nilai α sebesar  0,212> 0,05. Maka dapat disimpulkan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara rata-rata kepercayaan diri siswa kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol.Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dapat meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa pada konsep asam basa, tetapi tidak signifikan secara statistik.

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to identify the differences of scientific literacy between students arranged with STAD cooperative learning using labwork and STAD cooperative learning using interactive multimedia demonstrations. The study was also conducted to identify students responses to the two learning methods applied. The method used was quasy experiment with pretest-posttest control group design with the two classes. Instruments used in this research were scientific literacy test sheet in the form of multiple choice questions and quistionare. The research shows that cooperative learning using labwork methode increased students science literacy, better than cooperative learning with interactive multimedia demonstration. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi perbedaan peningkatan literasi sains antara siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) menggunakan metode praktikum dengan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD yang menggunakan metode demonstrasi multimedia interaktif. Penelitian ini juga dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi respon siswa terhadap kedua metode pembelajaran yang diterapkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasy eksperiment dengan pretest-postest control group design dengan perlakuan terhadap dua kelas. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar tes literasi sains dalam bentuk soal pilihan ganda dan angket tanggapan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dengan metode praktikum dapat meningkatkan literasi sains siswa lebih baik bila dibandingkan dengan peningkatan literasi sains pada kelas yang menggunakan metode demonstrasi multimedia interaktif.Permalink/DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15408/es.v7i2.1676

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of integrated science learning with threaded type to improve critical thinking skills and concepts mastery of students to the theme sight and optical devices as well as the response after learning. The method was used quasi randomized experimental design with pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects were 8th grade of students of SMPN 5 Padang panjang, divided into one with experimental class (type of integrated science learning type threaded with the model level of inquiry) and one control class (integrated science teaching threaded type of learning model in 2013).. The result shows that the implementation of integrated science teaching with threaded type involving and level of inquiry approach can improve critical thinking skills and concepts of mastery students, significantly different from students who learn by curriculum of 2013. Most of students give positive response to the application of the integrated science learning threaded with the level of inquiry on the theme sight and optical devices. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas pembelajaran IPA terpadu tipe threaded dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan penguasaan konsep siswa pada tema indera penglihatan dan alat optik serta tanggapan setelah mengikuti pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperiment dengan rancangan randomized pretest-posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian kelas VIII SMPN 5 kota Padang panjang tahun ajaran 2014/2015 dengan dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen (pembelajaran IPA terpadu tipe threaded dengan model level of inquiry) dan kelas kontrol (pembelajaran IPA terpadu tipe threaded dengan model sainstific method pada kurikulum 2013). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran IPA terpadu tipe threaded dengan level of inquiry dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan penguasaan konsep siswa, dan menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran kurikulum 2013. Secara keseluruhan siswa memberikan tanggapan yang positif pada penerapan pembelajaran IPA terpadu tipe threaded dengan level of inquiry pada tema indera penglihatan dan alat optik.Permalink/DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15408/es.v7i2.1674

Abstract

Abstract The integrated science learning using webbed model was done in this research to increase students’ science literacy in a learning theme of “Why  Can My Body Feel Temperature Changes?”. The research was conducted using a quasi experiment method with non-randomized subject pretest posttest control group design. The subjects were students of grade VII from one of junior high school at Cirebon District, West Java, Indonesia, and were divided into two classes, namely, experiment and control class. While the students of experiment class was taught with the integrated science learning approach, students of the control class was taught without using the approach. The instruments were written test, observation sheet, questionnaire, and interview protocol. Data showed that on avereage there was an increase of science literacy skills of students who were taught with an integrated approach. A significant increase has been showed in both of content and process aspects. The integrated science learning approach showed to be able to build positive attitudes among students.  Abstrak Pembelajaran IPA Terpadu dengan model webbed telah diimplementasikan untuk meningkatkan literasi sains siswa pada tema “Mengapa Tubuhku Bisa Merasakan Perubahan Suhu?”. Penelitian menggunakan  metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non-randomized subject pretest posttest control-group. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII dari salah satu SMP di Kabupaten Cirebon, Jawa Barat, Indonesia, dan dibagi menjadi dua kelas, yakni kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Sementara siswa kelas eksperimen diajarkan menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran IPA Terpadu, siswa kelas kontrol diajarkan tidak dengan pendekaytan tersebut. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes tertulis, lembar observasi, angket, dan pedoman wawancara. Data menunjukkan bahwa secara rata-rata terdapat peningktaan kemampuan literasi sains siswa yang diajarkan dengan pendekatan terpadu. Peningkatan signifikan ditunjukkan pada aspek konten dan proses. Abstract

This study aims to identify the needs in the development of teaching materials on low carbon education, which is still rarely delivered at the VII grade secondary school level. This research uses the Mix Method. Quantitative data collection with a total of 100 respondents located in Bogor regency in the 2024/2025 academic year using assessment questions on the level of knowledge, low carbon competencies, and environmental care attitude questionnaire. Meanwhile, qualitative data were generated from observations of climate resilience based on the geographical location of the education unit. The results of this study show that students still need improvement in knowledge, low carbon competency, and environmental care attitude. The climate resilience analysis shows that the school conditions have the potential to implement learning that raises environmental issues to be used as topics in learning, and the use of social media. Therefore, the need for the development of teaching materials includes learning that contains videos or images, case studies with local issues, accompanied by group assignments that integrate social media as a medium for campaigns to protect the environment, so that it accommodates learning that forms an attitude of environmental care.
