Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of container lashing techniques in reducing the risk of cargo damage on MV. Tanto Bersinar. Lashing is a method of securing containers using equipment such as twist locks, lashing bars, and turnbuckle s to ensure cargo stability and safety during sea transport. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach through direct observation, interviews with crew members, and documentation. The findings indicate that the lashing technique on board has not been fully effective due to several factors, including insufficient quantity and poor condition of lashing equipment, limited crew understanding of proper procedures, and lack of regular training and supervision. The ineffectiveness of the lashing process leads to safety risks, operational delays, financial losses, and reputational damage to the company. This study recommends providing adequate and well-maintained lashing equipment, conducting routine crew training, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures, and improving oversight to meet maritime safety standards. Proper implementation of lashing techniques is essential to minimize cargo damage and enhance the overall safety of maritime operations.

Abstract

Ship loading and unloading activities are one of the vital components in port operations that greatly affect logistics efficiency and the smooth distribution of goods, especially energy commodities such as coal. This study aims to analyze the effect of coal loading and unloading activities on the MV. Chang Long ship on the efficiency of clearance in & out time at PT. Adhika Samudera Jaya, a shipping company that acts as a ship agent in the Palembang area. This clearance process includes administrative and operational aspects that must be fulfilled by the ship before and after loading and unloading activities are carried out. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through field observations, interviews with related parties such as operational heads, operational staff, and shippers, as well as documentation. The results of the study showed that there were several obstacles in loading and unloading activities that had a direct impact on delays in clearance in & out, including late payment of Letter of Credit (LC) by buyers, bad weather conditions, lack of coordination between related parties, and technical disruptions such as damage to loading and unloading equipment. These delays have an impact on operational cost inflation and decreased time efficiency. The solutions offered include document digitalization, improved communication and coordination between ship agents, ports, and buyers, and strengthening the logistics management system. This research is expected to be a reference for the shipping industry in managing loading and unloading activities effectively, as well as assisting port agencies in improving the efficiency of ship clearance procedures. With coordinated and systematic implementation, the clearance in & out process can take place faster, more efficiently, and have a positive impact on the smooth distribution of strategic commodities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat produktivitas kegiatan muat batubara dengan metode Ship to Ship (STS) pada kapal-kapal yang diageni oleh PT. Adhika Samudera Jaya Cabang Banjarmasin. Kegiatan muat batubara secara STS merupakan salah satu metode efisien dalam distribusi komoditas tambang, namun keberhasilannya sangat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor operasional, teknis, dan cuaca. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode analisis deskriptif untuk mengevaluasi produktivitas berdasarkan indikator waktu operasi, volume muatan, frekuensi kegiatan, serta hambatan yang dihadapi selama proses muat. Data dikumpulkan dari laporan kegiatan Ship to Ship selama satu tahun terakhir, wawancara dengan pihak operasional, dan observasi langsung di lapangan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa produktivitas muat batubara dipengaruhi oleh kesiapan peralatan, koordinasi antar kapal, serta faktor eksternal seperti kondisi cuaca dan pasang surut. Rata-rata produktivitas mencapai 200-500 ton/jam dengan menggunakan Ship Crane, jika menggunakan Conveyor mencapai 400-800 ton/jam, dengan beberapa kegiatan mengalami penurunan akibat gangguan teknis atau keterlambatan izin. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan evaluasi bagi perusahaan dalam meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas operasional muat batubara ke depannya.

Abstract

Background: Changes in tea consumption trends present opportunities for the tea industry, especially as alternative raw materials have been tested in recent years to develop tea and kombucha with distinct organoleptic and functional properties. This study evaluates the organoleptic characteristics and consumer preferences for Singkil tea and Singkil kombucha. Methodology: A sensory evaluation was conducted with 30 untrained panelists to assess color, aroma, taste, texture, and overall acceptability using a hedonic scale. Additionally, the alcohol content was measured. Findings: The results of the hedonic test indicated that all treatments fell into category 3 "slightly liked", suggesting an acceptable level of consumer preference. On average, both Singkil tea and Singkil kombucha received an acceptance score of 3, indicating that they were "slightly liked." This suggests their potential as alternative beverages suitable for commercialization. Furthermore, the safety of the product was confirmed, as it contains 0% alcohol, meets halal standards. Contribution: This study concludes that Singkil kombucha has the potential to be a viable alternative beverage for the market, and that it is safe for consumption due to its 0% alcohol content, which complies with halal standards

The cargo pump is an auxiliary device used to transfer cargo from the ship’s tank to a storage tank. One of the most critical components of the cargo pump is the impeller, which functions by converting mechanical energy into kinetic energy to move fluid. Hydrochloric acid, as cargo, is highly corrosive and requires specialized materials resistant to such conditions. On the MT Cipta Anyer, the impeller is constructed from Hastelloy X Tantalum to withstand corrosion. This study employs the Huber and Miles method to analyze impeller damage. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. The research findings reveal that the primary cause of impeller damage is exposure to the corrosive cargo. Additional contributing factors include the use of spare parts that do not conform to the manual specifications, damaged impeller blades, and contamination within the impeller unit. These issues result in a decreased cargo discharge rate, leading to operational inefficiencies and financial losses for the company. The problems can be mitigated by implementing a regular Planned Maintenance System (PMS), ensuring the availability of manufacturer-recommended spare parts, and adhering to standard installation procedures. This study contributes practical insights into the causes of impeller damage in cargo pumps handling corrosive materials and provides actionable solutions to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency in chemical tanker operations.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis risiko keselamatan kerja pada proses pemuatan batu bara dengan sistem Ship to Ship (STS) di PT. Adhika Samudera Jaya, Pelabuhan Tanjung Api-Api Palembang. Permasalahan utama yang diidentifikasi adalah tingginya potensi kecelakaan kerja selama proses pemuatan batu bara, seperti jatuh dari ketinggian, paparan debu batu bara, dan kerusakan peralatan. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengidentifikasi tingkat risiko keselamatan kerja dan upaya yang dilakukan perusahaan untuk meminimalkannya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei, melibatkan 35 responden yang terdiri dari tenaga kerja bongkar muat (TKBM), agen, foreman, dan crew kapal. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) untuk mengidentifikasi bahaya, menilai risiko, dan menentukan langkah pengendalian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa risiko tertinggi terdapat pada proses pemindahan batu bara dari tongkang ke kapal besar dengan skor risiko 16,1 (kategori sangat tinggi), sedangkan risiko terendah adalah karatan pada pipa dengan skor 13,12 (kategori sedang). Upaya pengendalian yang direkomendasikan meliputi penggunaan alat pelindung diri (APD), pelatihan keselamatan, dan pemeliharaan peralatan secara rutin.

Abstract

In this era of a company, inventory is an important factor because a company's inventory will continuously be acquired, changed, and resold Tb. Rejo Mulyo is a company engaged in the business of buying and selling building materials. Which materials and building goods sold consist of various types of goods at different prices. Therefore it is important to plan stock inventory so that there is no stock buildup or delay. Based on the problems above, we need a stock prediction system that is in accordance with demand. Based on these problems, the researchers designed a web-based inventory system using the Naïve Bayes method. The Naïve Bayes method itself is an effective method for predicting inventory based on existing past data. so that it can produce predictive indicators correctly. After processing the prediction accuracy data using the confusion matrix, it produces an accuracy value of 61%, precision of 66% and recall of 50%, which means that the prediction is said to be successful. With this the naïve Bayes method can help us in predicting the determination of the stock of building goods in Tb. Rejo Mulyo

Abstract

Tingginya biaya pemeliharaan alat menjadi salah satu tantangan utama dalam pengelolaan operasional pelabuhan, khususnya pada alat Automatic Stacking Crane (ASC) di PT Terminal Teluk Lamong. Dalam rangka meningkatkan efisiensi dan menekan biaya pemeliharaan, dua indikator penting perlu diperhatikan, yaitu availability dan effective time . Availability menggambarkan tingkat kesiapan alat untuk digunakan, sedangkan effective time mencerminkan waktu produktif alat selama operasional. Keduanya sangat berpengaruh terhadap kehandalan alat dan frekuensi kerusakan yang berdampak langsung pada biaya pemeliharaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh availability dan effective time terhadap biaya pemeliharaan alat ASC di PT Terminal Teluk Lamong. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan regresi linier berganda. Data yang digunakan berasal dari laporan bulanan operasional dan data biaya pemeliharaan selama periode Januari hingga Desember 2023. Analisis dilakukan untuk melihat sejauh mana kedua variabel independen tersebut memengaruhi variabel dependen, yaitu biaya pemeliharaan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis regresi linier berganda, diketahui bahwa availability memiliki koefisien regresi sebesar 0,189 dengan nilai t-hitung 3,925 t-tabel 1,970. Sedangkan effective time memiliki koefisien regresi sebesar 0,543 dengan nilai t-hitung 7,260 t-tabel 1,970. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kedua variabel bebas berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap biaya pemeliharaan. Hasil uji F menunjukkan bahwa X1 (availability ) dan X2 (effective time ) secara simultan memengaruhi biaya pemeliharaan dengan F-hitung sebesar 38,248 dan nilai signifikansi 0,000 0,05. Nilai koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,059% menunjukkan bahwa faktor lain di luar model juga turut memengaruhi biaya pemeliharaan.
