Abstract

This community service program aimed to actualize the role of university students in Islamic preaching (dakwah) to empower rural communities with limited access to religious education. The activity was conducted in Gerdu Village, Karangpandan Sub-district, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, using a qualitative approach and the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method. This method allowed students and community members to be actively involved in identifying religious issues, designing solutions, and collaboratively implementing sustainable programs. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The program consisted of various Islamic educational activities such as children’s Quran classes (TPA), women’s religious studies, Quran recitation improvement (tahsin), Islamic storytelling, educational outbound games, and health counseling. The results showed increased community participation in religious activities and the emergence of collective awareness to uphold Islamic values in daily life. The students also gained valuable hands-on experience in delivering contextual and applicable religious guidance. These findings indicate that the participatory community-based dakwah model is effective in rural settings and can be replicated in other areas with similar social characteristics.

Abstract

Abstract

Strengthening students' spirituality is an important challenge for Islamic religious education in the digital age, when the influence of social media, cultural changes, and a lack of family guidance often weaken students' religious awareness. This condition requires learning strategies that are more adaptive and relevant to the developmental needs of adolescents. This study aims to describe the strategies used by Islamic Religious Education teachers to enhance student spirituality, the forms of implementation in schools, as well as the impacts and obstacles that arise in its implementation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model that included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that IRE teachers applied five main strategies, namely contextual learning, worship habits, role modeling, personal approaches, and collaboration with parents and schools. These strategies have been proven to increase student participation in religious activities, strengthen religious behavior, and encourage the internalization of Islamic values in daily life. However, the study also found obstacles such as differences in student motivation, the influence of digital media, and limited learning time.

Abstract

Religious education plays a crucial role in shaping children's character, morals, and spirituality. As the first and foremost educators, parents are not only responsible for teaching religious knowledge cognitively but also serve as educators, guides, motivators, facilitators, and role models in daily life. This study aims to explore the role of parents in building an educational ecosystem that supports Islamic religious learning. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach, this research analyzes theories and previous studies related to parental involvement in religious education. The findings indicate that parental involvement is significantly influenced by religious awareness, educational background, and the presence of a supportive family and school environment. On the other hand, several obstacles were identified, such as parental busyness, limited religious knowledge, and the influence of digital media. Therefore, collaboration among families, schools, and communities is essential to create a holistic and sustainable religious education ecosystem. This study is expected to serve as a reference for parents, educators, and educational institutions in strengthening the family's role as the foundation for nurturing children's religious character.

Abstract

This study discusses the internalization of Islamic Religious Education values and morals in Scouting extracurricular activities at school as an effort to integrate religious education with students' self-development activities. This integration is expected to shape individuals who are balanced between worldly and spiritual needs. This study aims to determine the planning, implementation, and supporting and inhibiting factors of the internalization of Islamic Religious Education values in Scouting activities. The method used is a qualitative approach with descriptive research, while data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the planning of value internalization is carried out systematically through short-term and long-term programs. The short-term program is in the form of weekly Scouting held every Saturday, while the long-term program includes annual activities such as Guest Reception, Scout Expedition, and Scout Action Movement. The implementation of value internalization takes place through the stages of value transformation, value transaction, and trans internalization. Supporting factors include school identity, the role of coaches, the availability of facilities, and student discipline, while inhibiting factors include the absence of coaches, boredom, and low creativity among some students.
