Abstract

Capsules are medicinal preparations wrapped in hard or soft capsule shells. The material for making capsule shells is gelatin obtained from partial hydrolysis of animal skin or bones. One source of gelatin that can be used as a basic material for forming capsule shells is snakehead fish skin. This study aimed to produce capsule shells from snakehead skin, varying the gelatin concentration in the capsule shells, and to assess the drug release properties. The evaluation of the capsule shells included measurements of length, diameter, thickness, weight, volume, disintegration time, swelling degree, and mecobalamin release using a dissolution apparatus in a simulated gastric fluid medium, with mecobalamin levels measured by UV spectrophotometry. The results showed that the snakehead capsule displayed good physical properties. The best swelling degree was observed in formula 2, with a value of 24.59%, which is close to the 27.58% swelling degree of commercial capsules (mecobalamin) at the 10-min. The mecobalamin release test indicated that the capsules from formula 2 released 30.40% of the drug at the 30-min when tested at 278 nm, compared to 33.50% from commercial capsules. Testing at a wavelength of 352 nm for formula 2 was 29.25% compared to commercial mecobalamin capsules at 34.67%. These findings highlight the promising utility of gelatin from snakehead skin in the formulation of effective drug delivery systems.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of product knowledge and price on perceived value and purchase intention of Uwinfly electric bicycles in Pekanbaru City. The population in this study were people in Pekanbaru City who were familiar with electric bicycles. Sampling was carried out using non-probability sampling techniques, with a sample size of 130 respondents based on the formula Hair et al. (2023). The data analysis method used is Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software version 4. The results showed that product knowledge has no significant effect on purchase intention, but price has a significant positive effect on purchase intention. In addition, product knowledge and price have a positive effect on perceived value, where perceived value acts as a mediator in the relationship. These findings provide important implications for Uwinfly in designing more effective marketing strategies to increase consumer purchase intention.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to synthesise the concept of entrepreneurial leadership, identify the independence program of Islamic boarding schools, and analyse leadership strategies in developing the entrepreneurial spirit of students. This study employs a qualitative approach, utilising a case study design, where data are collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data are then analysed in three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study indicate that Islamic boarding schools integrate entrepreneurship education into their curriculum to equip students with practical skills that can be applied after graduation. Entrepreneurship programs, such as Job Training Centres and Cooperatives, as well as other economic sectors, aim to increase the financial independence of students, create jobs, and reduce unemployment. This approach to integrating religious education and entrepreneurship allows students to make positive contributions to society after graduation. This study suggests that fostering an entrepreneurial spirit in Islamic boarding schools can be an effective alternative educational model for enhancing students' economic independence. The integration of religious education and entrepreneurship prepares students to become entrepreneurial leaders who are economically prosperous and have spiritual values.

Abstract

The kitolod plant (Hippobroma longiflora) is a traditional medicinal plant originating from the Campanulaceae family. DNA barcoding is a technique for identifying an organism using short nucleotide sequences known as DNA barcoding. One of the DNA barcodes in plants is matK. This research aims to analyze DNA barcode sequence in the matK region of the kitolod plant using the DNA barcode. Samples were taken from the area of Tarai Bangun Village, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, Indonesia as many as two different individuals. The research stages carried out are sampling, followed by DNA isolation using the Geneaid Mini Plant kit, PCR follow thermo scientific instructions, gel agarose electrophoresis, sequencing, and data analysis using the bioinformatics program, namely BioEdit, BLASTn, and MEGA 6.0. The matK sequence of the kitolod plant obtained was 841 bp. The result showed that no identity value was found to reached 100%. The highest identity value (99.88%) was found in H. longiflora NC_035361.1. 34 nucleotide variations were found with one critical nucleotide for H. longiflora from Riau and six critical nucleotides for the H. longiflora. The matK DNA sequence from Kitolod Riau in this study is the first sequence reported in database GenBank.
