Abstract

Abstract: Depression is a serious mental health disorder with a high prevalence worldwide. The incidence of depression in the elderly both living in nursing homes and in the community tends to increase with age. The purpose of the study was to analyze the level of depression in the elderly based on socioeconomic status. The research design used in this study was cross sectional. The research was conducted in the working area of the Danau Indah Health Center. The research was conducted in August 2024. The population is all elderly people who live in the Danau Indah Health Center working area. The sample amounted to 176 respondents. The sampling technique used in this study was Consecutive Sampling. Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate. The results showed a relationship between age (p value: 0.000) and Economic Status (p value: 0.000) on the risk of depression in the elderly. It is recommended for elderly family members to encourage elderly family members to remain socially active, both through interactions with family, neighbors, and the elderly community.Keywords: Depression, Elderly, Economic Status.

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) is  a condition-of inadequate nutritional intake that persists over a long period (chronic), leading to health risks for pregnant women such as anemia, abortion, premature birth, intrauterine fetal death, intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR), and it is an indirect cause of maternal mortality. CED is caused by direct and indirect factors. Direct factors. This study aims to analyze the relationship between konsumsi patterns and socio-cultural factors with the incidence of CED in pregnant women in the working area of the Pakem Health Center in Bondowoso Regency. This study is a quantitative research using a cross-sectional method. The study was conducted in the working area of the Pakem Health Center in Bondowoso Regency with a simple random sampling of 49 respondents. The research was carried out from March 26, 2023, toJune 6, 2024. Primary data in this study was obtained through questionnaires covering age, education, knowledge, family income, consumption patterns, dietary restrictions, age at marriage, and direct measurements of upper arm circumference (LILA) in pregnant women. Secondary data was obtained from the Dinas Kesehatan Bondowoso and the Puskesmas Pakem related to the incidence of CED in pregnant women. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that the majority of 41 respondents (83.7%) were aged 21-35 years. Most respondents completed their education up to high school/vocational school (42%). Most respondents had moderate knowledgeabout balanced nutrition and CED, with 36 respondents (73%). Most respondents (55.1%) had a low income, below the regional minimum wage of Rp 2,183,590. The consumption patterns of respondents were mostly in the poor category, with 32 respondents (65.3%). Some respondents practiced dietary restrictions during pregnancy (51%), such as avoiding ice, shrimp, durian, pineapple, squid, fermented cassava, banana hearts and chicken intestines. Some respondents had early marriages, with 18 respondents (36.7%) citing arranged marriages and societal views on the appropriate age for marriage.A total of 25 respondents (51%) experiencedCED in the working area of the Pakem Health Center in Bondowoso Regency. There was a significant relationship between consumption patterns and the incidence of CED in pregnant women in the working area of thePakem Health Center in Bondowoso Regency, with a p-value of 0.001. There was a significant relationship between socio-cultural dietary restrictions and the incidence of CED in pregnant women in the working area of the Pakem Health Center in Bondowoso Regency, with a p-value of 0.001. However, there was no significant relationship (p-value 0.196) between early marriage and the incidence of CED in pregnant women in the working area of the Pakem Health Center in Bondowoso Regency

Abstract

The implementation of the English Language Teaching (ELT) curriculum in Indonesia continues to face challenges despite numerous reforms, including the transition from the 2013 Curriculum to the Merdeka Curriculum. This systematic literature review examines 37 studies published between 2013 and 2024 to identify trends and challenges in ELT curriculum implementation. Findings reveal that qualitative research methodologies, especially case studies and descriptive approaches, dominate the field. The primary challenges identified include limited teacher competence and proficiency, pedagogical and practical issues, and student-related challenges. Teachers often lack sufficient English proficiency and pedagogical skills to implement innovative approaches like Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), the Scientific Approach, and Genre-Based Approaches (GBA). Additionally, low student motivation and passive learning behaviours persist, further hindering curriculum effectiveness. The study suggests enhancing professional development to equip teachers with practical skills and curriculum familiarity. Practical and contextualized curriculum guidelines and comprehensive evaluation mechanisms are also needed to bridge the gap between policy and classroom practice. Addressing these challenges is essential for improving ELT outcomes in Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh motivasi intrinsik dan disiplin kerja terhadap kinerja pegawai baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung melalui komitmen organisasi. Populasi yang digunakan adalah pegawai yang bekerja di Puskesmas Siwalan Kabupaten Pekalongan dengan jumlah 59 pegawai. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode sensus atau sampel jenuh, sehingga seluruh jumlah populasi akan dijadikan sampel penelitian yaitu 59 responden. Sumber data yang digunakan data primer, dengan metode pengumpulan data kuesioner. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa motivasi intrinsik, disiplin kerja, dan komitmen organisasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai. Motivasi intrinsik dan  disiplin kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku inovatif. Hasil uji mediasi diperoleh bahwa komitmen organisasi dapat memediasi pengaruh motivasi intrinsik terhadap kinerja pegawai, dan komitmen organisasi dapat memediasi pengaruh disiplin kerja terhadap kinerja pegawai.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh orientasi kewirausahaan dan orientasi pembelajaran terhadap kinerja pemasaran baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung melalui inovasi sebagai variabel mediasi. Populasi yang digunakan adalah seluruh pelaku industri kecil makanan dan minuman di Kabupaten Kendal, dengan ukuran jumlah sampel yang digunakan adalah 100 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling. Sumber data yang digunakan data primer, dengan metode pengumpulan data kuesioner. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). Hasil penelitian menjelaskan jika orientasi kewirausahaan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pemasaran, orientasi pembelajaran berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pemasaran, dan inovasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pemasaran. Hasil penelitian juga menjelaskan jika orientasi kewirausahaan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap inovasi, dan orientasi pembelajaran berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap inovasi. Hasil uji mediasi diperoleh bahwa inovasi dapat memediasi pengaruh orientasi kewirausahaan terhadap kinerja pemasaran, dan inovasi dapat memediasi pengaruh orientasi pembelajaran terhadap kinerja pemasaran.

Abstract

Padang restaurants have become one of the favorite places for residents of Tembalang District because of the distinctive taste of the food they serve. However, many Padang restaurants have not managed their waste properly. This study aimed to determine the relationship between waste management and fly density levels at Padang restaurants in the Tembalang District. This was an analytical study with a cross-sectional design. The study was conducted from October to December 2023. The research sample consisted of 45 Padang restaurants selected using total sampling technique. The results show that most food waste comes from customer plate waste (60%) with rice being the most wasted food type (37.8%). The majority of restaurants have a relatively poor waste sorting category (68.9%) but mostly the waste containers meets the requirements (75.6%). Fly density levels in Padang restaurants mostly are still categorized as high (53.5%). Waste containers is associated with fly density levels (p=0.030), while waste sorting is not associated with fly density levels (p=0.057). It could be concluded that waste containers without lids with insufficient capacity are associated with fly density levels at Padang restaurants in Tembalang District.

Abstract

Abstract: Stroke is one of the non-communicable diseases that ranks second as the leading cause of death worldwide, after heart disease. Based on document reviews, the data on stroke cases at PON Hospital categorized by age and gender in 2023 shows 3,625 cases of ischemic stroke and 803 cases of hemorrhagic stroke. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between demographic aspects and stroke type. The study design used in this research was cross-sectional. The study was conducted at PON Hospital in September 2024. The population consisted of all stroke patients who visited the emergency department of the National Brain Center Hospital Prof. Dr. dr. Mahar Mardjono Jakarta. The sample consisted of 96 respondents. The sampling technique used was Simple Random Sampling. The research instrument used was a research questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate methods. The results of the study showed a relationship between gender (p-value: 0.044) and age (p-value: 0.032) and stroke type. It is recommended that stroke patients undergo regular health check-ups to control existing risk factors and prevent the emergence of other stroke risk factors that could worsen the patient's condition and further increase the risk of recurrent stroke. Keywords: Gender, Stroke, Age.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Kecamatan Tembalang, dengan populasi mahasiswa yang besar, merupakan penyumbang sampah terbanyak kedua di Kota Semarang pada tahun 2024 mencapai 49.367,454 ton/tahun. Peningkatan volume sampah ini sejalan dengan pertumbuhan populasi serta konsumsi masyarakat. Pemilahan sampah dari sumbernya menjadi langkah utama untuk mengatasi masalah ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor pengetahuan, sikap, persepsi sarana prasarana dan persepsi tokoh masyarakat dengan praktik mahasiswa dalam pemilahan sampah.Metode: Penelitian ini mengadopsi pendekatan observasional analitik dengan rancangan studi cross-sectional, melibatkan 130 mahasiswa aktif jenjang D3, D4, dan S1 dari tiga universitas di Kecamatan Tembalang, 6 petugas pengangkut sampah, dan 6 tokoh masyarakat di wilayah Kecamatan Tembalang. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara menggunakan Google Forms pada November – Desember 2024, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel accidental dan purposive sampling. Variabel yang diteliti meliputi pengetahuan, sikap, persepsi sarana prasarana dan dukungan tokoh masyarakat, serta praktik pemilahan sampah. Data dianalisis secara univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji Chi-Square.Hasil: Responden yang memiliki pengetahuan kurang baik (50,8%), sikap negatif (63,1%), persepsi sarana prasarana kurang memadai (63,8%), persepsi dukungan tokoh masyarakat rendah (71,5%), dan praktik pemilahan sampah kurang baik (71,5%), sarana prasarana kurang memadai (66,7%), dan dukungan tokoh masyarakat rendah (50%). Tidak ada hubungan antara pengetahuan dengan praktik (p=0,096), ada hubungan antara sikap (p=0,001), persepsi sarana prasarana (p=0,013), persepsi dukungan tokoh masyarakat (p=0,001) dengan praktik pemilahan sampah di Kecamatan Tembalang.Simpulan: Pengetahuan tidak berhubungan dengan praktik pemilahan sampah tetapi sikap, persepsi sarana prasarana dan persepsi dukungan tokoh masyarakat memiliki hubungan dengan praktik pemilahan sampah pada mahasiswa di Kecamatan Tembalang. ABSTRACT Title: Analysis Of Knowledge, Attitudes, Perceptions Of Infrastructure And Community Leaders With Student’s Waste Sorting Practices In TembalangBackground: Tembalang, with its large student population, is the second largest contributor of waste in Semarang City in 2024, reaching 49,367.454 tons/year. The increase in waste volume is in line with population growth and consumption. Waste sorting from the source is the primary step in overcoming this problem. This study analyzes the factors of knowledge, attitude, infrastructure perception, and community leader support on waste sorting practices among students.Method: Employing an analytical observational approach with a cross-sectional design, the study involved 130 active students at D3, D4, and S1 levels from three universities in Tembalang, 6 waste collectors, and 6 community leaders. Data were collected via direct interviews using Google Forms from November to December 2024. Sampling techniques included accidental and purposive sampling. Variables measured were knowledge, attitude, infrastructure perception, community leader support perception, and waste sorting practices. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Chi-Square test.Result: Respondents had poor knowledge (50.8%), negative attitudes (63.1%), perceptions of inadequate infrastructure (63.8%), perceptions of low community leader support (71.5%), inadequate infrastructure (66.7%), and low community leader support (50%). While knowledge showed no relationship with practices (p=0.096), attitude (p=0.001), infrastructure perception (p=0.013), and community leader support perception (p=0.001) were significantly associated with waste sorting practices. Conclusion: Knowledge does not correlate with waste sorting practices, but attitudes, infrastructure perception, and community leader support significantly influence waste sorting practices among university students in Tembalang.

Abstract

Background : Pesticide exposure has harmful effects on farmers, especially spraying farmers. All of pesticide classes such as organophosphates, carbamates, pyrethroids and organochlorines can have a disruptive effect on metabolism and energy storage. One of the bioindicators that can be used to identify farmers exposed to pesticides is AChE. Abnormal AChE levels stimulate nicotinic and muscarinic receptors in various organs, causing a wide range of metabolic disorders including adipose tissue dysfunction, inflammation and changes in body composition. Objective : The aim of this study was to examine the correlation between long-term pesticide exposure and potential body composition alteration in vegetable farmers. Research Methods/ Implementation Methods : This was a cross-sectional study with 46 farmers who spraying pesticide in vegetables area. Subjects were determined by purposive sampling and must fulfil the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Indicator of pesticide exposure measured by cholinesterase serum and history of exposure, while parameters of body composition by bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) using body fat monitor. There were body weight, body mass index, resting metabolism rate, total, visceral and subcutaneous fat, skeletal muscle also body age. Results : Subjects with abnormal AChE were only 8.9%. AChE level had no correlation with all components of the exposure history, but had a significant correlation with body composition parameters (p<0.05), that was body weight, BMI, percent fat, percent visceral fat, RMR with strength of correlation is weak (R 0.31-0.34). Conclusion/Lesson Learned : Based on this study AChE may represent a good indicator of metabolic alterations in body composition and may occur due to lipid metabolism disruption.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Fungsi kognitif dan kadar asam urat darah lansia tidak termasuk dalam pemeriksaan wajib dalam program Prolanis. Fungsi kognitif perlu dinilai untuk memastikan bahwa peserta Prolanis tidak mengalami kemunduran fungsi kognitif. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk melakukan skrining tingkat fungsi kognitif dan kadar asam urat darah peserta Prolanis di Klinik Dokter Keluarga Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam satu hari selama 2 jam 30 menit. Pemeriksaan fungsi kognitif dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) berbahasa Indonesia. Pemeriksaan kadar asam urat darah dilakukan menggunakan darah dari ujung jari dengan alat pemeriksa asam urat dan strip khusus. Hasil skrining menunjukkan bahwa 80,4% peserta Prolanis memiliki fungsi kognitif yang normal dan 66,7% memiliki kadar asam urat darah yang normal.   ABSTRACT Cognitive function and blood uric acid levels in the elderly are not included in the mandatory screening in the Prolanis program. Cognitive function needs to be assessed to ensure that Prolanis participants do not experience cognitive decline. The purpose of this activity was to screen the cognitive function and blood uric acid levels of Prolanis participants at the Family Physician Clinic, Faculty of Medicine, Muhammadiyah University of Palembang. The activity was carried out in one day for 2 hours and 30 minutes. Cognitive function testing was conducted using the Indonesian language Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) questionnaire. Blood uric acid testing was performed using fingertip blood with a uric acid tester and special strips. The screening results showed that 80.4% of Prolanis participants had normal cognitive function and 66.7% had normal blood uric acid levels.
