Abstract

AbstractPISA test results show that scientific literacy for many countries around the world is categorized as low. SETS is one approach that can improve scientific literacy. However, research for the combination of these two topics is still challenging to find. This article aims to systematically show the scope of scientific literacy research and SETS from 2016-2020. This study uses the SLR (Systematic Literature Review) method that adopts the PRISMA systematic. The study population consisted of all articles on JRST, IJSE, SE, and JPCS and other journals from the ERIC, DOAJ, and Science Direct directories. The sample of this research is 44 articles obtained in these journals. The results of the article analysis show that JPCS, IJERE, and IJSE publish the articles with the highest quantity, where the topic of scientific literacy is the topic with the highest quantity and the combined topic of scientific literacy SETS is the topic with the least quantity. The sub-topic of scientific literacy and SETS articles most studied was the development of learning books related to scientific literacy and SETS. Most of the types of research used are empirical research types. Further research is suggested to look at the effect of SETS on scientific literacy or develop a SETS-based learning media and student learning environment in improving scientific literacy.AbstrakHasil tes PISA menunjukan literasi sains untuk banyak negera di seluruh dunia dikategorikan rendah. SETS menjadi salah satu pendekatan yang dapat meningkatkan literasi sains. Namun, penelitian untuk gabungan kedua topik ini masih sulit ditemukan. Artikel  ini bertujuan untuk menunjukan sistematik cakupan penelitian literasi sains dan SETS dari tahun 2016-2020. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode SLR (Systematic Literature Review) yang mengadopsi sistematik PRISMA. Populasi penelitian terdiri atas seluruh artikel pada JRST, IJSE, SE, dan JPCS, serta pada  jurnal lainnya dari direktori ERIC, DOAJ, dan Science Direct. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 44 artikel yang diperoleh pada jurnal-jurnal tersebut. Hasil analisis artikel menunjukan JPCS, IJERE dan IJSE menerbitkan artikel dengan kuantitas terbanyak, di mana topik literasi sains menjadi topik yang kuantitas paling banyak dan topik gabungan literasi sains dan SETS menjadi topik yang kuantitas paling sedikit. Sub-topik artikel literasi sains dan SETS yang paling banyak diteliti adalah pengembangan buku pembelajaran terkait literasi sains dan SETS. Sebagian besar tipe penelitian yang digunakan ialah tipe penelitian empiris. Penelitian lebih lanjut disarankan yaitu melihat pengaruh SETS terhadap literasi sains atau mengembangkan sebuah media pembelajaran berbasis SETS dan lingkungan belajar siswa dalam meningkatkan literasi sains.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kemampuan kognitif dan berpikir kreatif siswa melalui penerapan pembelajaran berbasis proyek berpendekatan STEM. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kasus dengan desain One-Shot Case Study. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri di Semarang sebanyak 36 siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes yang telah divalidasi oleh ahli. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan kognitif siswa mencapai kriteria baik, dengan ketercapaian tertinggi pada indikator pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa mencapai kriteria baik dengan ketercapaian tertinggi pada indikator kemampuan memandang informasi dari sudut pandang yang berbeda.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan Masyarakat RW 08 Kelurahan Genuk, Kabupaten Semarang, telah dilaksanakan melalui (1) penyuluhan untuk memperbaiki tingkat pemahaman peserta mengenai usaha pencegahan penularan COVID-19, (2) pelatihan pembuatan sabun cair untuk cuci tangan dengan bahan aktif berupa minyak serai wangi dengan metode self trying didampingi oleh tim pengabdi, (3) evaluasi proses dan hasil pengabdian serta umpan balik antara peserta dengan tim pengabdi dengan pendekatan wawancara dan angket, serta (4) pendampingan pengemasan produk agar menarik dan bernilai jual terjangkau untuk digunakan oleh masyarakat sekitar. Target pengabdian telah tercapai, yaitu adanya perubahan perilaku hidup sehat dengan menerapkan berbagai tindakan preventif pada usaha kesehatan individu dan lingkungan serta dengan memanfaatkan produk herbal serta tercapainya keterampilan aplikatif dalam pembuatan sediaan sabun cair. Formula Sabun minyak serai wangi yang telah dibuat, memiliki pH 7 serta memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yang dibuktikan dengan adanya diameter zona hambat sebesar 21,25 mm terhadap bakteri Escherichia coli sehingga layak digunakan sebagai sabun antibakteri.

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop learning media based on augmented reality on hydrocarbon material and its validity to determine the media's feasibility and increase students' multi-representation ability. This research is a type of development research using Design Research and Development (R&D). The product validity test phase was carried out by two material experts and three media experts. In addition, testing was carried out on the responses of the participating students. The implementation stage of learning was carried out by class X TKJ 2 SMK Gondang Pekalongan with a total of 32 students. The data analysis technique used a questionnaire instrument and the technical descriptive statistical analysis. The results of this study are: (1) the development of augmented reality-based learning media on hydrocarbon material in the form of an android application consisting of five main menus, namely basic competencies and indicators, materials, AR camera, practice questions, and the identity of the researcher, as well as seven molecular cards of the structure chemical compound molecules; (2) validity assessment by material experts with an average score of 85% in the "very valid" category and the validity assessment by media experts with an average score of 94% in the "very valid" category; (3) the feasibility test results for using media in the implementation of learning obtained an average student response score of 78%, with the "feasible" category used as learning media. The increase in multi-representation abilities is shown by increasing student learning outcomes using multi-representation questions, including macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic levels. The macroscopic level increased by 27.50%, the submicroscopic increased by 36.70%, and the symbolic level increased by 33.30%. The results of this study indicate that augmented reality-based learning media on hydrocarbons is very suitable for use in chemistry learning and has been proven to increase students' multi-representation abilities

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of applying problem-based learning with a STEM approach integrated with local culture (STEM-PBL-local culture) on improving creative thinking and problem-solving skills and determine the relationship between creative thinking and problem-solving skills. This research is an experimental study with a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. A total of 72 prospective teachers who attended introductory chemistry courses at teacher education institutions were selected by purposive sampling. The test instrument is validated open-ended questions. Data analysis used an independent t-test. Pearson's product-moment correlation test is used to determine the relationship between problem-solving and creative thinking skills. The results show significant differences between the experimental and control groups. Students in the experimental group who received STEM-PBL-local culture experienced an improvement in creative thinking and problem-solving skills in the medium category, while the control group experienced an improvement in the low category. The Pearson product-moment correlation test shows that creative thinking and problem-solving skills have a significant relationship with a high level of correlation.

Abstract

Genap sudah satu tahun lamanya negara Indonesia dilanda pandemi COVID-19 dampaknya pada sektor pendidikan, pemerintah Indonesia mengambil kebijakan untuk melaksanakan pembelajaran daring namun kenyataannya pendidikan formal di Indonesia sebelumnya lebih didominasi dengan pembelajaran langsung atau tatap muka. Pembelajaran daring yang terjadi secara tiba-tiba berdampak terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis seberapa besar pengaruh pembelajaran daring dan motivasi belajar terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas III SD Yayasan IBA Palembang. Sampel yang diambil seluruh siswa kelas III SD Yayasan IBA Palembang sebanyak 80 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pengisian angket dan tes secara daring. Uji keabsahan instrumen angket dan tes dilakukan dengan validasi ahli, uji validitas dan reliabilitas dengan menggunakan program komputer SPSS V.18. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pembelajaran daring dan motivasi belajar secara bersama-sama memberikan sumbangan terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas III SD Yayasan IBA Palembang sebesar 15,9%. Perlu dukungan oleh semua pihak yang terlibat dalam pembelajaran guna memenuhi seluruh aspek pembelajaran daring dan motivasi belajar

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the blended problem based learning on cognitive learning outcomes and critical thinking skills in class X MIPA State Senior Highschool 1  Subah. The research method used was an experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sampling technique used was the cluster random sampling, with class X MIPA 4 as the experimental class and X MIPA 2 as the control class. The analysis technique used is the average difference test, the effect analysis between variables and the determination of the coefficient of determination. The results of the study were obtained by the average value of cognitive learning outcomes and the average score of critical thinking skills. Analysis of influence between variables resulted in a biserial coefficient of 0.23 for cognitive learning outcomes and 0.25 for critical thinking skills. Calculation of the coefficient of determination shows that the application of blended problem-based learning contributes 5.5% to cognitive learning outcomes and 6.5% to critical thinking skills. The results showed that the average value of the experimental class cognitive learning outcomes was 73.71 while the control class was 69.47. The average score of the experimental class critical thinking skills is 29.65 while the control class is 27.88. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of blended problem-based learning affects the cognitive learning outcomes and critical thinking skills of class X MIPA State Senior Highschool 1  Subah on redox material.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh blended problem based learning terhadap hasil belajar kognitif dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Subah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain penelitian pretest-posttest control group design. Teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu cluster random sampling, dengan kelas X MIPA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X MIPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik analisis yang digunakan yaitu uji perbedaan rata-rata, analisis pengaruh antar variabel, dan penentuan koefisien determinasi. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata nilai hasil belajar kognitif dan rata-rata skor keterampilan berpikir kritis. Analisis pengaruh antar variabel menghasilkan nilai koefisien biserial 0,23 untuk hasil belajar kognitif dan 0,25 untuk keterampilan bepikir kritis. Perhitungan koefisien determinasi menunjukkan penerapan blended problem based learning berkontribusi sebesar 5,5% terhadap hasil belajar kognitif dan 6,5% terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata nilai hasil belajar kognitif kelas eksperimen sebesar 73,71 sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 69,47. Rata-rata skor keterampilan berpikir kritis kelas eksperimen sebesar 29,65 sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 27,88. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan blended problem basedlearning berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar kognitif dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Subah pada materi redoks.Keywords: Cognitive learning outcomes, critical thinking skills, blended problem-based learning, redox.

Abstract

Tuntutan keterampilan siswa di era tahun 2000-an atau lebih dikenal dengan abad ke-21, salah satunya adalah keterampilan literasi sains. Literasi sains dapat dikembangkan menjadi literasi kimia yang sangat diperlukan siswa dalam mendukung proses pembelajarannya ketika berada di lingkungan sekolah maupun di lingkungan kehidupan, guna meningkatkan pemahaman siswa atas konsep ilmu kimia. Untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut, diperlukan media pembelajaran kimia yang tepat bagi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan literasi kimia siswa yang ditinjau dari penggunaan jenis media pembelajaran yang digunakan. Meta-analisis merupakan teknik yang digunakan untuk menganalisis hasil penelitian dari artikel yang telah dipublikasikan mengenai kemampuan literasi kimia siswa yang dipublikasikan dijurnal nasional dan internasional pada tahun 2017 hingga 2021. Sebanyak 14 artikel penelitian yang relevan dianalisis dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang ditinjau pada aspek tujuan dan media pembelajaran. Tujuan 14 artikel penelitian tersebut, yaitu menganalisis hasil penelitian, mengukur keefektifan media atau model, dan mengembangkan bahan ajar/buku/web/instrumen yang berbasis literasi kimia dengan media pembelajaran seperti pengembangan media berbasis web, bahan ajar, pendekatan etnosains, asesmen, konten TPACK guru dengan literasi siswa, dan model guide discovery. Hasil analisis disimpulkan bahwa, adanya hubungan yang erat antara penggunaan jenis media pembelajaran yang tepat dalam meningkatkan literasi kimia siswa.

Abstract

The study of Mg(OH)2 from seawater bittern as an adsorbent for Congo red (CR) from an aqueous solution has been performed. This study aimed to determine the effect of pH, contact time, and initial CR concentration on CR adsorption by Mg(OH)2. The adsorption kinetics and isotherms of CR on Mg(OH)2 in an aqueous solution were also studied. The optimum adsorption was obtained at pH 8 within 90 minutes of contact time with an adsorption capacity of 46.3 mg/g for an initial CR concentration of 29 mg/L. The adsorption process followed the Freundlich isotherm model with an n value of 2.579 and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model with a k2 value of 0.0021 g mg−1min−1.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an android-based game learning media by applying the steps of the scientific method. Methods: UsingThe development research was adapted the RnD method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The data collection technique was a validation questionnaire of media experts, linguists, materials, teacher, and student responses. Findings: The validation results of media, language, and material experts were 92.00, 92.00, and 96.00%, respectively, with very feasible criteria. Student response questionnaires in the small and large group trials were 96.00, 94.00, and 89.70%, respectively, with very achievable benchmarks. The teacher's response questionnaire also got more than 80.00%, which was very decent. Conclusion: The result application of the 'Curious Scientist' game learning media is interesting for students. Indirectly, students have learned to use the scientific method approach and apply scientific thinking skills utilizing the learning media game' Curious Scientist.’
