Abstract

The study of Mg(OH)2 from seawater bittern as an adsorbent for Congo red (CR) from an aqueous solution has been performed. This study aimed to determine the effect of pH, contact time, and initial CR concentration on CR adsorption by Mg(OH)2. The adsorption kinetics and isotherms of CR on Mg(OH)2 in an aqueous solution were also studied. The optimum adsorption was obtained at pH 8 within 90 minutes of contact time with an adsorption capacity of 46.3 mg/g for an initial CR concentration of 29 mg/L. The adsorption process followed the Freundlich isotherm model with an n value of 2.579 and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model with a k2 value of 0.0021 g mg−1min−1.

Abstract

Indonesian language lessons are often underestimated as difficult, but in reality, many students do not understand Indonesian language learning, one of which is writing poetry. Writing poetry cannot be done through conventional methods because writing poetry requires a very high imagination. One of the innovations that can be done in poetry writing is the synectic model and the problem-based learning model. The purpose of this research is an exploratory study of synectic models and problem-based learning on poetry writing skills for class IV. The method used in this research is an exploratory qualitative conducted in elementary schools in the Kanjengan Cluster, Central Semarang. The results of the analysis show that teachers need innovation in learning to increase students' imagination which will later be poured into the form of poetry. One of the innovations that can be applied is to use synectic models and problem-based learning in the process of learning to write poetry.

Abstract

Abstract

The Covid 19 pandemic has prevented learning from being carried out face-to-face but online using a smartphone. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of android media as a chemistry learning medium during a pandemic. This type of research is qualitative research using the study of literature from scientific journals. The data analysis method used is descriptive qualitative. This systematic method uses PRISMA guidelines and flowcharts. Methods of data collection using non-test methods, namely observation and interviews. The analysis technique uses qualitative analysis. The study results of the response and effectiveness of Android media are used to consider using Android media as a suitable learning medium during a pandemic. The subject of the study was Sinta 1 to Sinta 6 accredited scientific journals between 2011 and 2021. This article limits the use of android media in high school chemistry learning. The results of scientific journal studies show that most students respond very well to the use of android media in chemistry learning. The effectiveness of using Android-based media for chemistry learning can increase student motivation, cognitive learning outcomes, problem-solving skills, critical thinking, scientific literacy, and student activity. The conclusion shows that Android media is suitable for use as a learning medium during a pandemic.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic caused a transformation in the implementation of learning from offline/face to face to online learning. This study aims to analyze the effect of online learning methods on students' learning interest during the Covid-19 pandemic. Online learning is very beneficial for maintaining learning communication between teachers and students. This research is based on the one-group pretest-posttest method. Where the initial ability of students is obtained through the Pretest before the lecture, and student learning outcomes are obtained from the Posttest which is carried out after the lecture using the online method. The research was conducted on 21 students who took acid-base chemistry courses. The data analysis technique used is simple linear regression analysis. From the research results, it was found that the average score of students in the Pretest was 59.5 and the average score of students in the Posttest was 74. Meanwhile, the response results showed that online learning methods had a positive, although not significant, effect on students' interest in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This means that the better the quality of online learning, the higher the learning interest of students. The magnitude of the influence of online learning methods on students' learning interest is only 3.8%. That means that even though it is not significant, the lecturer's ability to carry out online learning methods still has an influence on students' interest in learning.

Abstract

Learning will be effective if the teacher understands the needs of learning well. The purpose of this study was to explore the needs of teachers in literacy learning on reading comprehension competence in elementary schools. The method used in this research is exploratory qualitative which was conducted at the State Elementary School in Central Magelang Sub-District, Magelang City, Central Java Province, Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that there are several problems in literacy learning of reading comprehension competence so teachers need several learning innovations as solutions, namely in the learning model by combining problem-based learning models with the SQ3R model, in teaching materials by developing integrated teaching materials with innovative learning models, and on the assessment instrument by developing an assessment instrument oriented towards high order thinking skills (HOTS). The results of this needs analysis will be used to conduct further research as a form of literacy learning innovation in reading comprehension competence.

Abstract

The literacy ability of Indonesian students is still relatively low, there are several factors that cause it, one of which is an error in selecting learning resources, especially the teaching materials used by schools are not based on local wisdom and do not meet valid categories to measure literacy skills. For this reason, the development of module-based teaching materials is needed. local wisdom in supporting the achievement of competencies and goals in learning. This study aims to obtain a product through a process of testing the effectiveness to measure scientific, data and environmental literacy abilities. This research is development research (R&D) using 4-D type (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The population of this study was class X students with a total of 141 consisting of small and large-scale tests. The results showed that the students' literacy skills were 71.86% (high), the results of the n-gain analysis for the experimental class were 0.70 and for the control class 0.55 (moderate). The results of the inferential analysis were obtained using a different test (t-test) showing that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, so it can be concluded that teaching materials based on local wisdom in the Takalar area provide a significant difference in increasing the literacy skills of class X students.
