Abstract

Abstract

Survival analysis is an analysis used to determine the length of time required by an object in order to survive. That time is sometimes influenced by several factors called independent variables. One way to know relationship is through a regression model. The dependent variable in this regression model is a survival time which is log-logistic distributed. The data used in this study were right censored survival data. Log-logistic regression models for survival data can be expressed by transformation Y=lnT= θ0+θ1xi1+...+θixij+σԑ. The parameter of the log-logistic regression models for right censored survival data are estimated with the maximum likelihood method. In this study, the application of log-logistic regression model for survival data is in data of lung cancer patients. Based on the data already performed, best log-logistic regression model is obtained yi=1.92458+0.0242393 xi1+0.639037ԑi.

Abstract

The Singkawang Basin is one of  Mesozoic Basins in Western Indonesia that located in West Kalimantan. The Mesozoic Singkawang Basin is expected to have potential resources for conventional as well as non-conventional hydrocarbons. Several new concepts of oil and gas exploration may be defined in this basin including volcanic, basement fracture and Mesozoic sedimentary reservoirs.  The Singkawang Basin is a basin filled with sedimentary rocks that may have hydrocarbon potential  This basin has not been many studied by previous researchers. The aim of this research is to determine the potential of fine grained sedimentary rocks in the Singkawang Basin as the source rock of hydrocarbons. The TOC and Rock-Eval Pyrolysis (REP) analysis results from 69 fine-grained sedimentary rock samples concluded that the Sungaibetung Formation has a rich organic material ranging from 0.95 – 2.84%, while the Banan Formation ranges from 0.42 – 2.41%, the Pedawan Formation ranges from 0.27-2.29%, and the Kayan Formation ranges from 0.41 – 1.82%. The hydrogen index (HI) value of < 150 mg HC/g TOC and S2/S3 ratio value of < 3 indicates that some fine-grained sedimentary rocks of the Mesozoic Singkawang Basin have a tendency as a dry gas producer kerogen type and classified as a lean organic matter. The sedimentary rocks of the Singkawang Basin can be interpreted as gas source rocks that have entered an over mature stage. The Triassic to Oligocene fine -grained sedimentary rock indicates a good organic material. Moreover, the Sungaibetung Formation consists of very good organic material and tend to indicate hydrocarbons source rocks potential. Keywords: Mesozoic, source rocks, hydrocarbons, West Kalimantan

Abstract

The Mentawai Islands are situated on the Indian Ocean westwards of West Sumatera Province forming a non-volcanic island arc. Stratigraphic and tectonic development of the islands are strongly related to the subduction between the Indian Ocean and Eurasian Continental Plate. Tectonic activities have occurred since Early Tertiary - Late Pliocene. It has happened simultaneously with the Indian Ocean Plates collision moving northwards and subducted below the Sunda/Eurasian Continental Plate. The Ophiolite and Melange Complexes were exposed and overlain unconformably by the acceleration prism of sedimentary rocks (Mentawai Group) formed as a pond sedimentation deposited within a small basin situated between active thrust fault fragments. Based on the age determination gained from paleontological analysis, tectonic configuration, basin development, and sedimentation rate, the Mentawai Islands are believed to be formed by mélange complexes comprising part of an uplifted accretionary complex of a non-volcanic island arc. Keywords: stratigraphy, tectonic, mélange, Mentawai Islands

Abstract

The Sintang intrusives are widely exposed in West Kalimantan, and as reported by previous workers, consisting of high level intrusives of stocks, plugs, dykes and sills of microdiorite, microgranodiorite, granite/ microgranite, quartz diorite, dacite, andesite, and minor rhyolite and rhyodacite. However, a careful study of published geochemical data gives a result that the rocks are of adakitic type. Considering the tectonic development of the South China Sea and northwest Kalimantan, the adakite was probably originated from magma as a result of melting of the subducted South Cina sea oceanic crust beneath Kalimantan continent. The subduction started in the Late Oligocene when the crust was still young. Keywords : adakite, Sintang, intrusive, Late Oligocene
