Abstract

Research has been carried out on inhibitors from matoa leaf extract to inhibit the corrosion rate of SS-304 carbon steel. The Matao leaf extract used as an inhibitor was immersed in a 1 M H2SO4 corrosive medium. To determine the effect of inhibitor concentration and immersion temperature on steel corrosion, various inhibitor concentrations were varied, namely 0%, 1%, 2%, and 3% bt, and temperature variations, namely samples also in XRD and SEM characterization. 35°C and 40°C. The corrosion rate test was carried out using the weight loss method. The increase in the corrosion rate is in line with the increase in sample weight loss. The most efficient inhibitor of matoa leaf extract was obtained at a concentration of 3% with an immersion temperature of 35°C, namely 0.09 mmpy. The XRD results showed that the maximum peaks produced FeC and FeNi crystals, followed by FeO crystals. SEM characterization also showed that samples without inhibitors were more corroded, and samples using 3% inhibitor concentrations were slightly corroded.

Abstract

Fokus studi ini adalah mensintesis material berbasis montmorillonit K-10 yang dimodifikasi dengan spesies Ni2+ melalui metoda hidrotermal. Pengaruh aktivasi termal terhadap support montmorillonit K-10 pada proses pertukaran kation untuk menghasilkan katalis heterogen dikarakterisasi dengan x-raydiffraction (XRD) dan x-ray fluoressence (XRF). Analisis XRF sampel menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pertukaran kation sampel montmorillonit K-10 terhadap Ni2+ berdampak pada peningkatan kandungan nikel pada semua sampel yang dimodifikasi dibandingkan dengan yang tidak dimodifikasi. Analisis XRD terhadap struktur sampel yang dimodifikasi mengungkapkan bahwa struktur dasar clay 2:1 (T:O:T) tahan selama proses pertukaran kation. Kinerja katalis heterogen yang dihasilkan diuji pada reaksi transesterifikasi minyak jelantah dengan metanol untuk produksi FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl ester) (biodisel). Evaluasi uji katalitik menunjukkan bahwa montmorillonit K-10 yang dimodifikasi Ni2+ memberikan peningkatan % rendemen FAME. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa material montmorillonit K-10 yang dimodifikasi  Ni2+sebagai katalis heterogen yang berpotensi untuk produksi biodisel.

Abstract

The current study examines the catalytic activity of Cu2+-exchanged cation montmorillonite K-10 (MMT K-10) catalyst, which synthesized by hydrothermal method. X-ray fluoressence (XRF) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) were used for characterizing the newly synthesis catalyst. The effect of thermal activation on the support of MMT K-10 with a modifier Cu investigated on its catalytic performance for conversion waste cooking oil to produce fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) by transesterification reaction. Synthesis biodiesel was further characterized by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS). The biodiesel was obtained at transesterification reaction conditions: 3% (w/w) catalyst loading, molar ratio of oil to methanol = 1:10, and 3 h of reaction time at 90°C. The yield of FAME of WCO for MMT K-10, MMT K-10/Cu2+, MMT K-10 (activation 110°C)/Cu2+, MMT K-10 (activation 300°C)/Cu2+ catalysts were the 9,47%; 10,36%; 10,41%; and 12,01% of FAME, respectively. This study exhibites that the activation of thermal on the support MMT K-10 which modified by Cu2+ leads to reduction of the crystal size. The decreasing crystal size contributes on increasing catalytic performance of the heterogeneous catalyst.

Abstract

Activated carbon from corn stalks (Zea mays L.) has been successfully synthesized by the dehydration method and used as a supercapacitor electrode. Corn stalk powder was dehydrated with 1 MH2SO4 and activated with 5 M NaOH at a carbon and activator mass ratio of 1:4 with a heating temperature of 800°C and an N2 gas heating rate of 10°C/minute for 1 hour. SEM characterization results show that heterogeneous pores have formed on the surface of corn stalk-activated carbon. EDX results showed a carbon percentage of 54.82%; this data is supported by FTIR results, which show several functional groups containing C and O atoms on the surface of activated carbon. Based on desorption adsorption isotherm analysis, the activated carbon shows H4 type with a specific surface area of 117.973m2/g, average pore diameter of 1.730 nm and total pore volume of 0.1021 cm3/g. Measurement of the electrochemical properties of corn stalk activated carbon with a three-electrode system and 3 M KOH electrolyte showed a specific capacitance value of 133.9 F/g, power density 225.2 W/kg and energy density 0.863 Wh/kg. The synthesis of activated carbon through the dehydration method offers advantages in terms of simplicity in preparation, low cost, shorter synthesis time and being environmentally friendly.

Abstract

Salah satu parameter dalam penyaluran energi listrik adalah mutu dan kehandalan yang harus memenuhi standar. Pada praktiknya, Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) akan terus memperbaiki dan meningkatkan mutu dan kehandalan jaringan listrik guna memberikan pelayanan terbaik bagi setiap pelanggan. Langkah yang diambil salah satunya yang dilakukan oleh Unit Layanan Pelanggan (ULP) Panton Labu, yaitu dengan membangun jaringan baru agar dapat melayani beban yang semakin meningkat. Pembangunan jaringan baru dilakukan supaya dapat memperbaiki tegangan sistem melalui pembagian beban penyulang serta meningkatkan kehandalan dalam mempermudah manuver ketika terjadi gangguan. Kondisi kelistrikan ULP. Panton Labu disuplai dari Gardu Induk (GI) Panton Labu terdiri dari 2 Trafo Daya (TD) yang masing masing berkapasitas 30 MVA. Beban puncak GI. Panton Labu adalah sebesar 14,5 MW untuk TD 1 dan 6,5 MW untuk TD 2. GI. Panton Labu salah satunya mensuplai Gardu Hubung (GH) Panton Labu melalui penyulang PL 05. Namun, sebelumnya hanya terdapat 1 incoming yang masuk ke GH. Panton Labu, padahal pada TD 2 GI. Panton Labu masih terdapat 3 kubikel cadangan (spare) yang belum termanfaatkan dan juga pada kubikel di GH. Panton Labu sudah terdapat couple bus dan 1 kubikel cadangan. Hal ini disebabkan karena belum adanya jaringan express feeder yang menyuplai dari GI. Panton Labu ke GH. Panton Labu sehingga apabila terjadi gangguan pada suplai utama penyulang PL 05 maka akan terjadi padam diseluruh kubikel GH. Panton Labu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendapatkan nilai SAIDI dan SAIFI sebelum dan setelah pembangunan express  feeder SUTM A3CS 3x240 mm2 sebagai incoming baru. Hasilnya, Mutu tegangan pada GH Panton Labu sebelumnya sebesar 20,4 kVterjadi perbaikan menjadi 20,7 kV. Rekonfigurasi express feeder SUTM 3x240 mm2 sebagai incoming baru dapat mengurangi durasi padam dengan indeks keandalan rata rata nilai SAIDI pada ULP. Panton Labu turun dari 12,558 menit/pelanggan menjadi 6,205 menit/pelanggan. One of the parameters in the distribution of electrical energy is the quality and reliability that must meet the standards. In practice, the State Electricity Company (PLN) will continue to improve and increase the quality and reliability of the electricity network to provide the best service for each customer. One of the steps the Panton Labu Customer Service Unit (ULP) takes is to build a new network to serve the increasing load. The construction of a new network is carried out to improve the system voltage by sharing the feeder load and increasing reliability in facilitating maneuvers when disturbances occur. ULP electrical conditions. Panton Pumpkin is supplied from the Panton Pumpkin Substation (GI) consisting of 2 Power Transformers (TD), each with a capacity of 30 MVA. GI peak load. Panton Pumpkin is 14.5 MW for TD 1 and 6.5 MW for TD 2. GI. One is Panton Labu supplying the Panton Labu Switching Station (GH) via a PL 05 feeder. However, previously there was only 1 incoming to GH. Panton Pumpkin, even though at TD 2 GI. Panton Pumpkin still has 3 spare cubicles that have not been utilized and also in cubicles at GH. Panton Pumpkin already has a couple of buses and 1 extra cubicle. This is because there is no express feeder network that supplies from GI. Panton Pumpkin to GH. Panton Pumpkin so that if there is a disturbance to the main supply of the PL 05 feeder, there will be blackouts throughout the GH cubicles. Pumpkin Pantone. The purpose of this study is to obtain SAIDI and SAIFI values before and after the construction of the A3CS A3CS 3x240 mm2 express feeder as a new incoming. As a result, the voltage quality at the previous Panton Pumpkin GH was 20.4 kV, an improvement became 20.7 kV. Reconfiguring the SUTM 3x240 mm2 express feeder as a new incoming can reduce the blackout duration with the reliability index of the average SAIDI value on the ULP. Abstract

ABSTRACTPT. PLN (Persero) Rayon Singkil is working hard to carry out activities to reduce energy losses in the distribution network. There are two types of energy losses in the distribution network, namely technical losses and non-technical losses. This study of technical losses in Singkil rayon is discussed by approaching distribution asset data and load conditions using the Microsoft Excel program so that all data can be processed. Calculation of JTM losses, transformer losses, JTR losses, SR and APP losses. So the results obtained in Singkil Rayon with 4 feeders, namely in January 2023 were 10.4% with a composition of technical losses of 7.7% and non-technical losses of 2.7%, in February 2023 distribution losses were 8.6% with a technical loss composition of 7.8% and non-technical loss of 0.8%. Based on the calculation results, it makes it easier for PT. PLN (Persero) Rayon Singkil in analyzing and evaluating efforts that can be made to reduce distribution losses so that they become more efficient.                                                                                                 Keywords: Distribution system, Electrical energy, Energy losses, Technical losses, Non-technical losses. ABSTRAKPT. PLN (Persero) Rayon Singkil sedang berupaya keras melaksanakan kegiatan-kegiatan dalam hal penekanan susut energi pada jaringan distribusi. Susut energi pada jaringan distribusi ada dua yaitu susut teknis dan susut non teknis. Kajian mengenai susut teknis pada rayon singkil ini dibahas dengan cara pendekatan data aset distribusi dan kondisi beban dengan menggunakan program Microsoft Excel sehingga semua data dapat diproses. Perhitungan susut JTM, sussut trafo, susut JTR, susut SR dan APP. Maka hasil yang didapatkan pada Rayon Singkil dengan 4 penyulang yaitu pada bulan Januari 2023 sebesar 10,4 % dengan komposisi susut teknis sebesar 7,7 % dan susut non teknis sebesar 2,7 %, pada bulan Februari 2023 susut distribusi sebesar 8,6 % dengan komposisi susut teknis sebesar 7,8 % dan susut non teknis sebesar 0,8 %. Berdasrkan hasil perhitungan memudahkan PT. PLN (Persero) Rayon Singkil dalam menganalisa dan mengevaluasi terhadap upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk menurunkan susut distribusi sehingga menjadi lebih efisien.

Abstract

Kaolinite is a type of clay mineral that has the potential to be used as a heterogeneous catalyst in transesterification reactions. However, natural clay still contains a mixture of minerals that occur together. Therefore, as an effort to search for cheaper catalysts to reduce the price of biodiesel production, this study carried out the separation of kaolinite from natural clay and tested its performance as a catalyst in biodiesel production from Waste Cooking Oil (WCO). Separation of the kaolinite fraction was carried out with the help of NH4Cl as a dispersing agent. The main mineral composition of clay as quartz, kaolinite, montmorillonite and hematite. After the separation process, the crystallinity of the minerals experienced an increase marked by an increase in the intensity of several kaolinite peaks, namely in the 2θ 12.24° area from 103 to 108 and at 25.00° from 95 to 125. Thermal modification caused the loss of several kaolinite peaks in the area. 2θ 12.17°; 24.94° and 62.39°. The Si/Al ratio decreased after the fractionation and calcination processes. Average particle size of h-clay decreased from 27.61 µm to 21.09 µm in K-clay. The K-clay catalyst produced the highest conversion of palmitic acid at 42%, while c-K-clay produced the highest conversion of oleic acid and stearate at 30%. In addition, the density and water content of biodiesel catalyzed by K-clay and c-k-clay meet SNI standards. This finding has the potential to be further developed as a cost-effective catalyst based on natural resources in biodiesel production.

Abstract

The entire order of life has experienced social changes and a shift in values, including the traditional speech of the Gayo community, known as "Perimestik" in Islam. The speech is Islamic philosophy's correct, wise, and rational value system. However, it is fading and disappearing due to the influence of technology and globalization. This Perimestike could be used as a philosophy of Islamic life for the Gayo community, referring to Islamic Shari'a. Therefore, this study aimed to examine how Perimestike is a value system of Islamic philosophy in social interaction with the Indonesian Gayo community. Using qualitative, inductive, deductive, and holistic methods, the results showed that Perimestike contains Islamic philosophical, ethical, and moral values or Al-Adab. It is a sacred value system of Islamic philosophy mandated by the tribe’s ancestors to be maintained, realized, and preserved. The system is preserved in line with Islamic teachings according to the customary word “Syariet urum edet lagu zet urum sifet,” meaning “Shari'a and customs are like substances with properties." It is also in line with “Syariet ibarat empus, edet ibarat peger,” meaning “Shari'a is like a garden, the custom is like a fence." However, Perimestike has experienced a shift in values from customary rules and is no longer in harmony according to Islamic philosophy. This is because the Qur'an has the word "qauluzzuur," which means vile (cerak enta sesanah). In “Sumang Peceraken," speaking contrary to Islamic philosophy, customs, Shari'a, and customary manners (jis/jengkat), are prohibited in social interaction with the Gayo Indonesia community.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the dose of cow manure and the concentration of the growth regulator Thidiazuron on the growth of porang plant seeds. The design used was a factorial randomized block design consisting of 2 factors. Factor I, dose of cow manure, and factor II concentration of PGR Thidiazuron. This research concludes: (1) The dose of cow manure has a significant effect on the day shoots emerge, plant height at 75 DAP, stem diameter at 45, 60, and 75 DAP, and number of leaves at 75 DAP, and has a very significant effect on height. plants at 45 and 60 DAP and wet stover weight at 75 DAP, had no significant effect on the vigor index on the 7th day after DAP. (2) Thidiazuron PGR concentration had a very significant effect on the day of shoot emergence, vigor index on the 7th day of DAP, and plant height at 45 and 60 DAP, had no significant effect on plant height at 75 DAP, stem diameter at 45, 60 and 75 DAP, number of leaves 75 DAP and wet stover weight 75 DAP. (3) The interaction between the treatment dose of cow manure and the PGR concentration of Thidiazuron had a significant effect on the number of leaves. The best results from this research were in the treatment with a dose of cow manure of 15 g/polybag and a Thididazuron PGR concentration of 3 mg/l of water.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the type of natural growth regulator and the length of soaking on the growth of pepper plant cuttings. The experimental design used was a factorial randomized block design consisting of 2 factors. Factor I is the influence of giving several types of natural ZPT and factor II is the length of soaking. The results of the research concluded that the type of natural growth regulator had a very significant effect on the growth percentage of pepper cuttings and shoot height, but had no significant effect on the number of shoots, number of leaves, root length and root weight. The treatment of onion extract and coconut water provided the best growth of pepper cuttings. The length of soaking had a very significant effect on the growth percentage of pepper cuttings and shoot height, but had an insignificant effect on the number of shoots, number of leaves, root length and root weight. Soaking time of 20 minutes provides the best growth of pepper cuttings. The interaction between the type of natural growth regulator and the length of soaking had a very significant effect on growth percentage and shoot height, but had no significant effect on shoot height, number of shoots, number of leaves, root length and root weight. The best interaction on the percentage of growth of pepper cuttings was the Z0L3, Z1L1, Z1L2, Z1L3, Z2L1, Z2L2 treatment, while the shoot height and age were the Z2L3 combination.
