Abstract

This study aims to examine problem-solving abilities in early childhood through the use of geometric block media at TK Islam Athirah Bukit Baruga. Problem-solving ability is an essential cognitive skill that needs to be developed from an early age through meaningful learning experiences, one of which is play-based activities. Geometric block media were selected because they are constructive in nature and allow children to explore shapes, plan, try various strategies, and find solutions to problems that arise during play activities. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects were children in Group B at TK Islam Athirah Bukit Baruga, with classroom teachers serving as supporting informants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. The results indicate that the implementation of geometric block media was carried out through the stages of play environment preparation, pre-play activities, during-play activities, and post-play activities. These stages created a conducive play environment and stimulated children’s problem-solving abilities. Children demonstrated the ability to identify simple problems, try various problem-solving strategies, and evaluate outcomes through block play experiences. Social interaction during play also contributed to the development of children’s thinking skills. These findings are consistent with Piaget’s and Vygotsky’s theories, which emphasize the importance of concrete experiences and social interaction in children’s cognitive development.

Abstract

The singing approach is one of the most effective methods in early childhood learning. Singing is not only fun for children, but also has many developmental benefits, including language development, motor skills, social skills, and even cognitive skills. This study aims to determine the formation of moral values in early childhood towards the instilling of children's character and to determine the supporting and inhibiting factors of the singing method towards the instilling of character in early childhood. This study uses a qualitative approach using three main techniques in data collection, namely interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis uses the approach proposed by Miles and Huberman (1994), which includes three main steps: data condensation, presenting data (data display), and drawing conclusions or verification (conclusion drawing and verification). The results of the study show that (1) the singing method is proven to be effective in forming moral values and characters of honesty, discipline, caring, and cooperation in children aged 5-6 years through specific song lyrics, repetitive rhythms, and social interaction., (2) Supporting and inhibiting factors of the singing method towards the instilling of character in early childhood. Supporting factors dominate, with conducive classroom facilities, teacher-parent collaboration, and local lyrics increasing participation. While inhibiting factors include the heterogeneity of shy children, limited time (twice a week), and distractions from gadgets that lead to forgetting lyrics. This research serves as a model for early childhood education (PAUD) that can be replicated nationally, proving that the traditional art of singing effectively addresses the challenges of early childhood character education in the digital age by integrating local cultural preservation.

Abstract

The decline in gross motor skills in early childhood due to the dominance of digital activities and the lack of traditional physical games is a major concern in Indonesian Early Childhood Education (PAUD). This study aims to describe the implementation of traditional Ma'boy game activities in early childhood and to determine the description of gross motor skills of early childhood after being given traditional Ma'boy game activities. Ma'boy is a Bugis-Makassar team game that involves throwing a ball into a pile of used milk cans, running to avoid the opponent's throw, and rearranging the can tower. The study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pre-test post-test design on 30 children aged 4-6 years. Implementation data were collected through a Likert observation sheet (1-5), while gross motor skills were measured with the Test of Gross Motor Development-2 (TGMD-2). Data analysis used descriptive statistics and paired t-test (SPSS 26, α=0.05). The results showed excellent implementation of Ma'boy (mean = 4.72, SD = 0.45), with consistently optimal aspects of equipment preparation/hompimpa (4.80), throwing/running (4.70), and ball arrangement/dodging (4.65). Gross motor skills improved significantly from a pre-test mean of 21.80 (moderate category) to a post-test mean of 33.15 (high category), with an increase of Δ = 11.35 points (t = 14.85, p < 0.001, Cohen's d = 3.12). The ball throwing (Δ = 2.40) and running (Δ = 1.80) subtests showed the highest progress, consistent with the game dynamics. The conclusions confirm that Ma'boy is excellent and effective in improving gross motor skills in early childhood. The implications of this study recommend the integration of Ma'boy into the national Early Childhood Education (PAUD) curriculum as a local cultural intervention to address motor deficits caused by a sedentary lifestyle, with recommendations for larger-scale replication of the study using a control group design.

Abstract

Play has many roles in a child's development. It's the same with playing blocks. Blocks are toys that we often see in school, blocks are educational games that are made of wood or foam and are played by shaping the desired building. This study aims to determine the influence of block games on children's social-emotional development and to determine the level of early childhood social-emotional development before and after being given block play activities. The research method used the One Group Pretest–Posttest design. In this design, there is only one group of subjects who are given treatment in the form of block play. through pretest and posttest which is carried out using direct observation of the research sample. The data analysis used was descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The results of the study show that block play activities have a significant and positive influence on improving the social-emotional development of children aged 5-6 years. Descriptively, there was a substantial increase in social-emotional development scores. This is shown by a significant increase in the average score, from 75.38 in the pretest stage  to 92.92 in the posttest stage. The results of hypothesis testing using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test confirmed the existence of a significant influence. A p-value of 0.001498 was obtained, which is far below the significance level. These findings support the rejection of the Null Hypothesis (), which means that there is a significant difference between  pretest and posttest scores.

Abstract

Puzzles stimulate children to recognize relationships between parts and wholes, understand patterns and shapes, hone visual memory skills, practice cause-and-effect logic, and develop simple strategies through trial and error. This study aims to determine the cognitive abilities of children in the control group and the experimental group before and after being given learning using puzzle media. The type of research used is quantitative with quasi-experimental design or pseudo-experimental research. Using data collection techniques in the form of observations, tests, interviews, and documents. The data analysis used goes through two stages, namely descriptive statistical analysis and inferential analysis. Descriptive analysis is used to provide an overview of children's cognitive development, while inferential analysis is used to test hypotheses whether there is a significant difference between the experimental group (puzzle media) and the control group (conventional learning). The results showed that the gross motor development of children aged 5-6 years after participating in learning with fuzzle media  in the experimental group could be said to be significant based on the results  of the paired sample t test with a p-value smaller than the significance level of 5%. The gross motor development of children aged 5-6 years after participating in learning with conventional media can be said to be significant based on the results  of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test with a p-value greater than the significance level of 5%. Based on the results  of the Independent Sample T-Test, it was found  that the p-value was smaller than the significance level of 5%, so there was a significant difference in the cognitive development of children aged 5-6 years between the groups that participated in learning using fuzzle media and conventional media.

Abstract

Higher education institutions face fundamental challenges in preparing graduates who possess not only academic competence but also entrepreneurial readiness to navigate increasingly complex labor market dynamics. This study aims to analyze the conceptual framework of entrepreneurship curriculum integration in higher education oriented toward developing graduates with entrepreneurial mindset and readiness. Using Systematic Literature Review methodology following PRISMA protocol, this research synthesized six relevant peer-reviewed articles from reputable academic databases covering the 2021-2025 period. The findings reveal that distribution of Entrepreneurship Education Programs in Indonesia remains limited and concentrated in dominant institutions, particularly on Java Island. Effective pedagogical models emphasize mentoring approaches, authentic project-based learning, and integration with business communities. Key determinants of program effectiveness include self-efficacy, entrepreneurial intention, subjective norms, and failure attribution learning. The research identifies significant positive correlations between entrepreneurial intention, self-efficacy, and student preparedness for entrepreneurship. Strategic recommendations encompass expanding EEPs distribution nationwide, implementing systematic mentoring models, strengthening institutional capacity, and creating supportive learning ecosystems. This study contributes to entrepreneurship education theory development in developing country contexts while providing evidence-based insights for curriculum design that responds to Generation Z characteristics and contemporary business ecosystem demands.

Abstract

Early childhood gross motor development is crucial to support physical activity, coordination, and independence, as stipulated in Law No. 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System, which emphasizes physical stimulation from an early age. Early observations showed a lack of structured activities, such as rhythmic gymnastics, in early childhood education, leading to gross motor delays in skills like jumping and running, even though conventional activities were available. Rhythmic gymnastics, with musical accompaniment and rhythmic movements, is considered effective in stimulating large muscles based on the theories of Gallahue and Ozmun. The study aims to test the effectiveness of rhythmic gymnastics with the theme "Great Indonesian Children" compared with conventional gymnastics in improving the gross motor development of children aged 5-6 years. Focus on significant pretest-posttest differences between experimental and control groups to prove the effect of the intervention. This study uses a quasi-experimental design, specifically a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The experimental group received the rhythmic gymnastics of Anak Indonesia Hebat (2-3 times/week, 30-45 minutes), while the control group received conventional gymnastics. Data were collected through pretest-posttest observations using sheets based on indicators of balance, coordination, agility, and strength. The analysis included descriptive statistics (mean, N-Gain), the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene's test of homogeneity, and the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank and Rank-Sum Tests R RStudio. The experimental group showed an average increase from 38.12 (pretest) to 77.08 (posttest), a moderate-to-high N-Gain (75% moderate, 25% high), and a significant difference (p=0.002459). The control group increased from 38.75 to 41.46, but the N-Gain was low and insignificant (p=0.07006). The difference between the posttest groups was significant (p=3.134e-05, Wilcoxon Rank-Sum). The rhythmic gymnastics activity Anak Indonesia Hebat significantly improves the gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years, outperforming conventional methods. Implications: Integrate thematic gymnastics into the PAUD curriculum to optimize physical development, support advanced research on external factors, and provide teacher training in Indonesia.

Abstract

Social interaction plays a crucial role in the development of children's communication skills. Social interaction is a relationship between two or more people in which the actions or behaviors of one individual can influence, change, or improve the actions or behaviors of other individuals, and vice versa. Children naturally learn through interactions with the people around them, including family members, peers, and their social environment. The intensity and quality of social interaction with the development of expressive language in children as an illustration, intensive verbal interaction in the family environment and early childhood educational institutions contribute significantly to the enrichment of vocabulary and verbal expression skills. This research aims to find out the form and social interaction on early childhood expressive language development. Research methods are quantitative, with an Ex Post Facto approach. The data collection technique in this study involved direct observation of the research sample. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive and inferential analysis. The results of the study show that social interactions influence the development of expressive language in early childhood. The results of simple linear regression analysis showed that social interaction had a positive and significant effect on the development of expressive language in early childhood. The form of social interaction that affects the development of expressive language in early childhood is children's interactions with peers and teachers during the learning process.  The magnitude of the influence of social interaction on the development of early childhood expressive language is shown by the regression coefficient value of 0.892. This research is expected to provide a new perspective on research on children's language development, especially their expressive language. The use of new variables considered significant is expected to be a development in research on the object of study.

Abstract

Abstract: Teacher performance is one of the important factors that determine the success of the learning process and the achievement of educational goals in schools. Optimal teacher performance is not only influenced by professional competence, but also by various organisational and work environment factors, such as workload, work discipline, principal support, and the availability of educational facilities and infrastructure. Therefore, this study aims to analyse the influence of workload, work discipline, principal support, facilities, and infrastructure on teacher performance in primary schools in Ujung Bulu Subdistrict, Bulukumba Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis. The research population consisted of primary school teachers in Ujung Bulu Subdistrict, while the research sample consisted of 40 teachers from 12 primary schools. Data collection techniques were carried out through the distribution of questionnaires using a Likert scale designed to measure each research variable. The data obtained was then analysed using IBM SPSS Statistics software to determine the simultaneous and partial effects between the variables studied. The results showed that simultaneously, workload, work discipline, principal support, facilities, and infrastructure had a significant effect on teacher performance with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.938. This indicates that 93.8% of teacher performance variation can be explained by these five variables, while the rest is influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. Simultaneous testing shows an F value of 103.433 with a significance level of 0.000, which means that the research model has a significant effect on teacher performance. Partially, the analysis results show that workload, principal support, and facilities have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. Conversely, work discipline and infrastructure have a significant negative effect on teacher performance. These findings indicate that improving teacher performance is not only determined by the amount of workload managed proportionally, but is also influenced by the support of the principal's leadership and the availability of adequate learning facilities. Based on these research results, it can be concluded that improving teacher performance requires balanced workload management, effective work discipline, strong leadership support from the principal, and the provision of adequate educational facilities and infrastructure. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to the development of education policy, particularly in efforts to improve teacher performance in primary schools. Keywords: Workload, work discipline, principal support, infrastructure, teacher performance Abstrak: Kinerja guru merupakan salah satu faktor penting yang menentukan keberhasilan proses pembelajaran serta pencapaian tujuan pendidikan di sekolah.
