Abstract

The development of the Islamic education curriculum encounters various complex challenges stemming from both internal and external factors. Key challenges include the dynamics of globalization, socio-cultural changes, technological advancements, and the need to balance religious values with 21st-century competencies. This study examines these challenges, focusing on issues such as rapid technological progress, the integration of global and local values, and strategies for developing a curriculum that is relevant, flexible, and aligned with modern educational goals. Employing a qualitative approach, the research utilizes literature reviews and expert interviews to analyze the dynamics of curriculum development in Islamic education. The findings reveal that the challenges faced by Islamic education significantly impact both its internal and external dimensions. Internal challenges include achieving the eight national education standards, addressing the demographic bonus resulting from Indonesia's population growth, and tackling character development issues. To remain competitive in the era of globalization and produce graduates who meet contemporary demands, Islamic education must focus on developing human resources capable of adapting to current and future needs. On the other hand, external challenges are more forward-looking, requiring Islamic education to prepare for future demands related to social issues, advancements in technology and information, the growth of creative and cultural industries, and the internationalization of education, including the pursuit of world-class university standards.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Assessment in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) can no longer be limited to cognitive aspects alone, but must include spiritual, social, and practical dimensions that reflect the practice of Islamic values in everyday life. This study aims to explain the concept and implementation strategies of Performance-Based Assessment (PBA) in assessing the spiritual, social, and practical competencies of students. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative approach based on literature review and analysis of educational policy documents. The findings indicate that PBA can authentically assess religious practices, social behavior, and the application of Islamic values in real life through observation, reflective journals, collaborative projects, and situational simulations. Although the implementation of PBA faces challenges such as subjectivity in assessment and resource limitations, solutions can be found through the development of objective rubrics, teacher training, and the integration of assessment into daily learning activities. Therefore, PBA serves as an effective and transformative evaluation tool in more contextual and meaningful Islamic Education learning. Keywords: Performance-Based Assessment, Islamic Religious Education, spiritual, social, and practical assessment.

Abstract

The purpose of the Merdeka Belajar - Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program is to provide flexibility for students in choosing subjects, extracurricular activities, and skill development opportunities beyond those offered by the campus. The main objective of this program is to equip Indonesian students with the knowledge and abilities they need to succeed in the competitive world of work. The purpose of this literature review is to examine the past and current use of the MBKM Program in academic settings. A literature review of relevant papers, scientific journals, and other publications on the MBKM Program was conducted to learn more about the implementation, challenges, and benefits of the program. Several important conclusions can be drawn from the results of this literature review. First, the MBKM Program has not been fully implemented in higher education, and there are several obstacles that must be overcome. Second, problem solving will be more efficient if all interested parties work together. Evaluating the implementation of the MBKM Program is essential to make it more successful. By conducting a literature review, the university can learn about new problems, develop plans to address those problems, and improve the learning opportunities available to its students. By providing a greater understanding of the issues and challenges faced in implementing the MBKM Program in higher education, this literature review helps in improving the implementation of the program, overcoming barriers, and maximizing the benefits received by students.

Abstract

Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture Nadiem Makarim conveyed his perspective on #MerdekaBelajar. Replacing the National Standard School Examination (USBN) with a Minimum Competency Assessment and Character Survey is one of the goals. Literacy, numeracy, and character are the three elements that are evaluated. In order to be able to assess the concept and its application, this concept must be explored by linking it to pre-existing educational concepts. Through qualitative research, the literature study shows the concept of AKM assessment. The procedure for assessing AKM is to evaluate students' competence in reading literacy and numeracy, where each subject is rich in literature so that it is very possible to develop it in AKM and the Numerical Literacy Assessment in AKM can also be a reference in development. assessment.

Abstract

Islamic educational institutions face various challenges in human resource management, such as internal conflicts, low work motivation, and suboptimal performance of educators. These issues impact the effectiveness of institutions in achieving educational goals. This article aims to analyze how the synergy between conflict management and work motivation can improve human resource performance in Islamic educational institutions based on Islamic values. The issues examined include how conflict management and motivation contribute to performance improvement, as well as how Islamic values can be used as a basis for their management. The method used is a literature study by reviewing various relevant literature from journals, books, and previous research results. The results of the study show that conflicts that are managed constructively and motivation that is built on the basis of Islamic spiritual values can create a productive and sustainable work culture. The synergistic integration of the two can encourage an improvement in work ethic, teamwork, and the quality of educational services. This article provides a theoretical contribution to the development of HR management strategies in Islamic educational institutions based on Sharia values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Brand Religiosity Image, E-Service Quality, and Muslim Customer Perceived Value on student loyalty, with student satisfaction as a mediating variable. This study was conducted at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta using explanatory quantitative method. Data was collected through Google Form with a sample of 403 respondents from a population of 35,069 students. Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS version 4.0.9.6. The results showed that Brand Religiosity Image, E-Service Quality, and Muslim Customer Perceived Value have a positive and significant influence on student loyalty. E-Service Quality and Muslim Customer Perceived Value also have a positive and significant effect on student satisfaction, but Brand Religiosity Image has no significant effect on student satisfaction. Student satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on student loyalty, but does not mediate the effect of Brand Religiosity Image on loyalty. Conversely, student satisfaction mediates the effect of E-Service Quality and Muslim Customer Perceived Value on student loyalty. These findings offer a new paradigm, namely the Islamic Higher Education Brand Religiosity Image (i-HEBRI), which emphasizes that Islamic universities need to internalize Islamic values and science in their brand and operations, and provide capable digital services to build student loyalty. This paradigm shows that to achieve student loyalty, it is not enough for institutions to have a strong brand image, but they also need to provide significant added value through quality services.

Abstract

This study is grounded in the importance of promoting tolerance and religious moderation values within Indonesia's pluralistic society. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Character Education are expected not only to deliver cognitive understanding but also to shape inclusive and respectful student character. The aim of this study is to examine socio-cultural-based instructional strategies in shaping students' tolerance and religious moderation at SMPN 1 Prigen. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving PAI teachers, school principals, students, and vice principals as informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that teachers implemented contextual, participatory, reflective, and culturally grounded strategies. Lessons were connected to students' daily lives, encouraging critical discussions, personal reflections, and collaborative social activities. The learning process was also supported by the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) and the role modeling of moderate behavior by teachers. In conclusion, the socio-cultural-based teaching strategies effectively fostered students' tolerance and religious moderation and are highly relevant to multicultural education settings in Indonesia.
