Abstract

One of the indicators of economic growth in a country is that the income in a country has increased. Economic growth can be calculated from real national income. Economic Growth Medan City is one of the cities that has a fairly high level of economic growth. So this study aims to analyze the determinants of investment, interest rates, labor on economic growth in the city of Medan. The results obtained from this study are (1) the Gross Regional Domestic Product of Medan City is positively related to all explanatory variables, namely the Medan City workforce and Medan City's Gross Regional Domestic Product last year (PDRBt-1). All signs of the alleged parameters are in line with expectations, the variable that has a significant effect is the Regional Domestic Product of Medan City last year. The estimation results show that an increase in the number of Medan City workers by 10 units will encourage an increase in Gross Regional Domestic Product by 99 units per year, (2) Medan City Household Consumption is positively related to all explanatory variables namely Consumer Price Index, Gross Regional Domestic Product Medan City, Export Value and Household Consumption of Medan City last year (PRKTt-1). All signs of the estimated parameters are in line with expectations, the variables that have a significant effect are the Consumer Price Index and the Regional Domestic Product of Medan City. The estimation results show that if the Medan City Consumer Price Index is increased by 10 units, it will encourage Medan City Household Consumption by 10 units.

Abstract

This study delves into the intricate landscape of English literacy and communication needs among first-semester cadets at the Maritime Institute in Jakarta. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach in conjunction with document analysis, phenomenological observation, and strategic filling distribution, the research uncovers compelling insights into the challenges and aspirations within maritime education. Document analysis indicates a distinct emphasis on technical proficiency in Maritime English, yet a noticeable gap exists in addressing socio-pragmatic aspects of communication. Phenomenological observation reveals a spectrum of cadet engagement levels, prompting a critical re-evaluation of pedagogical strategies. Strategic filling distribution brings to light a disparity between perceived theoretical relevance and the practical application of English, advocating for a more scenario-based approach to language learning. The implications underscore the necessity for a paradigm shift in curriculum development and pedagogical practices. Recommendations propose curricular enhancement, pedagogical innovation, and industry collaboration to align educational objectives with the dynamic demands of the maritime sector. In conclusion, this research functions as a catalyst for transformative change in maritime language education, urging stakeholders to navigate towards a more comprehensive, industry-oriented approach that equips cadets with the nuanced proficiency demanded by real-world maritime scenarios

Abstract

January 1 to 31, 2022 for holders of Mining Business Permits (IUP) or (IUPK) for the production operation stage, a ban on coal exports is enforced to ensure the fulfillment of domestic supply, namely coal for steam power plants, supply shortages have an impact on users. More than 10 million customers of PT PLN (Persero), ranging from the general public to the public, in the regions of Java, Madura, Bali, (jamali) and non-jamali, as well as causing a decline in the performance of the foreign ship agency run by PT Serasi Shipping Indonesia. Statistical analysis of the data in this study used the SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) version 25 method used to perform statistical calculations using a computer. The data analysis techniques used in this study were Correlation Coefficient Analysis, Simple Linear Regression Analysis, Coefficient of Determination Analysis, Hypothesis Testing. Then based on the table above on X against Y, namely the Sig values ??of 0.000 0.005 and 6.554 2.467 It can be concluded that the implementation of the ban on coal exports has a significant positive effect on agency performance, so the hypothesis states that the implementation of the ban on coal exports has a positive effect on agency performance of foreign ships significant, or in conclusion the hypothesis is accepted. The implementation of the ban on coal exports has proven to have a positive and significant effect on the performance of foreign ship agencies at PT Serasi Shipping Indonesia with a regression coefficient with a value of 0.633 and a t-count value of 6.554 greater than a t-table value of 2.467 while the most dominant dimension for variable (X) is the decision to implement a ban with an average value (4.67) which is reflected by the indicator. variable (Y) is a service procedure with an average value (4.82) with the indicator Prohibition of coal exports applies to all coal mining entrepreneurs who have pocketed a mining business permit (IUP) or a special mining business permit (IUPK) with an average value (4.83). The implementation of the ban on coal exports has been shown to have a positive and significant relationship to the performance of foreign ship agencies at PT Serasi Shipping Indonesia as evidenced by a correlation coefficient with a value of 0.778 or 77.8% so that a strong correlation can be stated, while the remaining 0.222 or 22.2% caused by other factors outside of the research conducted.

Abstract

This study examines the alignment between maritime vocational education and the evolving needs of the maritime industry, particularly focusing on sustainability, technological integration, and industry collaboration. Maritime education is vital for preparing professionals to handle the complexities of port and shipping management, deck and naval operations, and sustainable practices in maritime environments. The research combines qualitative analysis from interviews with ten participants—including maritime professionals, lecturers, and graduates—and a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The objective is to assess how well current maritime education frameworks address industry demands and the integration of emerging concepts such as sustainability and technology. The findings indicate a strong alignment between education and industry needs, particularly in practical training and simulation-based learning. However, gaps persist in the practical application of sustainability concepts and the equitable distribution of technological resources. This study highlights the necessity of deepening collaborations between educational institutions and industry stakeholders to ensure that curricula reflect the latest industry trends and technological advancements. The research also calls for a more consistent application of sustainability principles in maritime training programs. By addressing these challenges, maritime education can significantly enhance graduate readiness and industry relevance. The insights offered have practical implications for educators, policymakers, and industry leaders seeking to improve the quality and impact of maritime vocational education.
