Abstract

Today's digital transformation is heavily influenced by the presence of artificial intelligence (AI), which significantly changes the way businesses run while improving organizational efficiency. This research explores the utilization of AI in various industries, as well as the extent to which AI plays a role in driving business model innovation and improving company operational performance. By combining several approaches, this research systematically reviews scholarly articles from 2019 to 2024 as well as related digital book literature. The results show that AI has three main roles. First, it improves organizational efficiency through automation, smarter data processing, and cost savings. Second, driving business model change through service personalization, demand prediction, and integration with digital platforms. Third, it accelerates organizational learning in the process of business innovation. In addition to the technological and economic benefits, the study also highlights the importance of ethical aspects and participation in the application of AI, in order to minimize risks such as algorithm bias and potential decline in public trust. In conclusion, AI is not just a technological tool, but a strategic piece that can reshape organizational structures and business patterns. To effectively implement AI, organizations need to build digital capabilities, cultivate learning, and implement responsible governance.

Abstract

Abstract

The growing halal industry and digital marketplace have reshaped Gen Z consumer behaviour, leading their purchase patterns to blend Islamic values with digital lifestyles. Although existing studies have examined Islamic marketing, product quality, and online consumer behaviour separately, limited research has modelled their combined effects on purchase decisions within a sharia-compliant framework. This study addresses this gap by developing a quantitative model that predicts Generation Z's purchase decisions, with customer satisfaction as the mediating variable. Using a survey-based design, data were collected from 53 Gen Z respondents and analysed using Structural Equation Modelling–Partial Least Squares (SEM–PLS). The study results show that consumer shopping habits significantly influence their level of satisfaction. Product quality has a significant impact on customer satisfaction. Sharia marketing has a substantial impact on customer satisfaction. Shopping lifestyle has a significant impact on purchasing choices. Product quality has a considerable impact on purchasing choices. Sharia marketing has a substantial effect on consumer purchasing decisions. Customer satisfaction significantly affects purchasing decisions. Globally, the study provides empirical evidence supporting the growing relevance of the halal economy and offers insights for policymakers and industries seeking to strengthen consumer trust and competitiveness.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to systematically explore the development of algorithmic management in HR practices, focusing on emerging ethical challenges. Methodology/approach: Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), this study analyzes findings from the past five years on the use of algorithms in managerial decision-making and their impact on workers' rights, justice, and welfare. Results/findings: While algorithms bring efficiency, they present significant ethical, social, and legal challenges. Organizations must balance technological efficiency with principles of fairness, transparency, and privacy protection. A collaborative approach between humans and technology, coupled with strict regulation, is essential. Conclusions: Algorithmic management in HR boosts efficiency but raises ethical concerns about fairness and transparency. Its success depends on creating accountable systems that balance technology with human values. Researchers advocate for human-technology collaboration, with algorithms as tools, not substitutes for human decision-making, and the integration of "responsible and explainable AI" to foster fairness and inclusivity. Limitations: The study’s focus on references from developed countries limits its applicability to developing countries like Indonesia. Additionally, most of the literature is conceptual and lacks long-term data. Contribution: The study suggests exploring contextual and participatory case studies across sectors and regions, along with both quantitative and qualitative research on algorithms’ impact on job satisfaction and employee rights. Further research on the role of national and international regulations is required.
