Abstract

Vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) is a key commodity in aquaculture due to its high survival rate, short cultivation period, and disease resistance. Water quality plays a crucial role in shrimp growth and productivity, particularly in intensive farming systems. This study aims to analyze the effects of water quality dynamics (pH, temperature, and dissolved oxygen) on shrimp growth, measured through Average Body Weight (ABW) and Specific Growth Rate (SGR). Multiple linear regression analysis was employed, but given the time-series nature of water quality data, the assumption of non-autocorrelation was violated. To address this issue, the Cochrane-Orcutt method was applied to obtain efficient parameter estimates and valid hypothesis testing results. The findings indicate that temperature significantly affects ABW and SGR (p < 0.05), while pH and dissolved oxygen do not show a significant partial effect. The simultaneous F-test confirms that these three water quality variables collectively influence shrimp growth. The Durbin-Watson test revealed autocorrelation in the initial model, which was resolved through the Cochrane-Orcutt method. The final regression model demonstrated improved estimation accuracy without autocorrelation. This study highlights that temperature is the primary factor influencing vannamei shrimp growth, while pH and dissolved oxygen play supporting roles in maintaining an optimal environment. Furthermore, the Cochrane-Orcutt method proved effective in addressing autocorrelation, ensuring more accurate analysis results that can guide the management of intensive vannamei shrimp farming

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors influencing customer retention in Generation Z's use of digital wallet services in Indonesia. The research uses PLS-SEM through SmartPLS 4.1.0. A total of 334 respondents from various cities in Indonesia participated in the survey. The analysis employs outer model evaluation and inner model evaluation to examine the relationships between brand image, attention to safety, consumer satisfaction, and customer retention. The findings indicate that brand image does not have a direct effect on customer retention but exerts a significant indirect effect through consumer satisfaction. Consumer satisfaction fully mediates the relationship between brand image and retention, while it partially mediates the relationship between attention to safety and retention. The strength of the mediation effect was confirmed using the bootstrapping method. These results provide valuable insights for digital wallet service providers in developing strategies to retain Generation Z users by enhancing both brand image and security features, ultimately improving consumer satisfaction.

Abstract

Speaking strategies play a vital role in enhancing communication skills and promoting meaningful engagement between speakers and their audiences. This research was aimed to investigate the both direct and indirect strategies used by students in order to succeed in their speaking lesson in English subject. The survey design was used in the research. The researcher gathered quantitative, numbered data via one-on-one questionnaires and interviews; and then, statistically analyzed the data to describe trends regarding question responses to answer the research questions. The samples were 60 students at the 12th grade of SMK Ma’arif V Kebumen in the academic year of 2022/2023. The survey revealed that in order to develop their speaking abilities, the students have adopted a number of direct and indirect speaking strategies. These strategies addressed a variety of areas, such as memory, cognition, compensation, metacognition, affective, and social interaction. Direct strategies are those that are explicitly taught to students. These include things like rehearsal, using visual, and using a dictionary. Indirect strategies are those that are not explicitly taught, but that students learn through experience. These include things like using planning, finding a speaking partner, and using humor. The study suggested that a combination of direct and indirect strategies can be effective in improving speaking skills. Teachers should consider using a variety of strategies to help their students improve their speaking skills. Keywords: Direct strategies, indirect strategies, speaking skills

Abstract

Land kangkung (Ipomea reptans) is one of the most popular horticultural crops in Indonesia because of its savory taste. In its cultivation, land kangkung does not require a large area so it can be cultivated in cities where land is generally limited. Cultivation can be done using polybags or hydroponics to overcome limited land. To achieve maximum kale productivity, plants need adequate nutrition by fertilizing. The limited availability of fertilizers and their high prices greatly affect the activities of farmers. Therefore, the use of ecoenzyme fertilizer is one solution to the problem. Besides being an additional organic nutrient in land kangkung, it can also act as an organic pesticide. The research was conducted in Wonosari Village, Kebumen District, Kebumen Regency. The study used a factorial complete randomized design (CRD). The first factor is the provision of ecoenzyme concentration as much as 3 levels, namely: K1 = Ecoenzyme 20 ml/liter of water, K2 = Ecoenzyme 30 ml/liter of water, K3 = Ecoenzyme 40 ml/liter of water. The second factor is the method of application of ecoenzyme which consists of 2 levels, namely P1 = watered, P2 = sprayed. There were 6 treatment combinations that were repeated 4 times. The results of this study showed that the provision of several concentrations of ecoenzyme and the method of application which became the treatment gave a different response to the growth of land kangkung plants but was not significant in the variables of plant height, number of leaves, and wet weight of plants. Based on these results, it can be concluded that ecoenzyme does not act as a nutrient enhancer for plants because the response to the growth and yield of kale plants has no significant effect. Further research should consider different doses of ecoenzyme administration that are more effective.

Abstract

Vannamei shrimp is one of Indonesia's leading aquaculture sector commodities due to its high survival rate, short cultivation time, and disease resistance. Vannamei shrimp cultivation in Indonesia adopts an intensive system favoured for high productivity. In intensive cultivation systems, shrimp ponds typically utilize concrete or high-density polyethylene (HDPE) ponds. Each type has its own positive and negative side that affects the growth and production of Vannamei shrimp. Apart from the type of pond, water quality also played an important role in the growth of Vannamei shrimp. Water quality is one of the important factors in intensive shrimp cultivation. Pond type is categorical data and has a nominal measurement scale, while water quality is numerical data with a ratio measurement scale; ordinary regression analysis is unsuitable for analyzing the effect of pond type and water quality on the growth of Vannamei shrimp. Therefore, a dummy regression model accommodates these measurement scale differences. This research aims to determine the effect of different types of ponds and water quality dynamics on the growth of Vannamei shrimp and to select the best type of pond for intensive cultivation of Vannamei shrimp. Additionally, it aims to identify the water quality parameters that most influence the growth of Vannamei shrimp so that it can serve as a reference for Vannamei shrimp farmers to achieve high productivity efficiently. The study was conducted from November 2022 to January 2023 in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java Province, Indonesia. There are three concrete ponds and 10 HDPE ponds. The research method employed in this study is a survey method utilizing simple random sampling. The parameters in this research are the quality of cultivation water, including pH, temperature and dissolved oxygen (DO). The water samples taken are then measured for water quality in the laboratory. The results of this study indicate that the average values for water quality are still within the optimal range. The average ABW in HDPE and concrete ponds ranges from 2.30 to 9.39 grams per shrimp and 2.22-9.73 grams per shrimp.  Based on the study's results, it can be concluded that different pond types and water quality dynamics, specifically pH and temperature, affect shrimp growth based on ABW. However, when considering SGR values, the type of pond does not have a significant impact. The water quality parameters that affect SGR are pH and temperature.
