Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the profile and process of teachers who act as models in strengthening students’ character, as well as to identify their weaknesses and strengths in performing this role. The research is relevant to current educational issues concerning the importance of character education and the need for teachers to serve as moral exemplars for students. This study employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach conducted at SDN Tegal Alur 08 Pagi, involving six teacher participants selected purposively. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis, and analyzed using NVivo software. Data validity was ensured through confirmability, credibility, transferability, and dependability. The findings indicate that teachers’ profiles as role models in character education are reflected in habituation programs, active learning, and continuous reflective approaches supported by professional competence and integrity. The process of character strengthening is carried out systematically and sustainably through multifaceted roles and techniques applied both inside and outside the classroom. Challenges experienced by teachers include limited facilities, family environmental influences, and emotional pressure in balancing academic and moral responsibilities. Meanwhile, teachers’ strengths lie in their consistency as role models, close relationships with students, the use of persuasive discipline, creative learning approaches, and the holistic integration of character values supported by the school’s vision and mission. From a phenomenological perspective, the study highlights how teachers interpret their experiences as moral models, viewing character education as a reciprocal process of learning and reflection rather than a one-way teaching effort.

Abstract

Background: The lack of science inquiry literacy among elementary school teachers is a crucial issue affecting the quality of science education. This condition is caused by various factors, including low teacher LIS competency, inadequate facilities, and a lack of learning media that support inquiry learning for students' diverse learning styles. To address this, training is needed that can provide teachers with opportunities to design inquiry learning based on students' learning styles.Aims and Method: This community services program aimed to enhance teachers' Scientific Inquiry Literacy (SIL) through the dissemination of SIDILAN using the Interactive Lecture Demonstration method. Results: The pre-posttest results showed a high average N-Gain (0.76), categorized as High. 13 teachers who were drilled using the SIDILAN application in their lessons experienced an increase in SIL knowledge, categorized as High. Two teachers also experienced an increase in SIL knowledge, categorized as Medium. .  There has been an increase in teachers' knowledge about SIL, student learning styles, the relationship between SIL and learning styles, and scientific inquiry learning designs that facilitate various student learning styles. Teachers reported SIDILAN as user-friendly, effective in identifying student learning styles, useful for instructional planning. and improving inquiry skills so that they could achieve science with good inquiry.

Abstract

The exploitation and human trafficking practices against Indonesian migrant workers employed on foreign-flagged fishing vessels demonstrate the weakness of cross-jurisdictional legal protection. This study aims to analyze the regulatory framework governing legal protection for migrant workers in the fisheries sector; to examine the legal strategies and policies that may be developed to strengthen such protection. The research employs a normative juridical method, incorporating statutory, conceptual, and case approaches, and uses qualitative descriptive analysis of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. The findings indicate that Law No. 18 of 2017 and Government Regulation No. 22 of 2022 provide a strong legal basis in Indonesia; however, inter-agency coordination gaps and limited cross-border supervision hinder their effective implementation. To reinforce both legal and economic protection, institutional synergy, consistent supervision, and the ratification of the ILO Convention No. 188 of 2007 and the Cape Town Agreement of 2012 as supporting international legal instruments are required. This study contributes to the strengthening of institutional and cross-jurisdictional policy synergy to ensure the protection of Indonesian migrant workers in the fisheries sector through an integrated legal and economic approach.

Abstract

The growing phenomenon of Korean Wave (Hallyu) such as KPOP Idol is used as a marketing strategy by Korean brands to attract the attention of Indonesian consumers, especially the younger generation. This study aims to measure the extent to which the role of K-pop idols as brand ambassadors, brand awareness and brand image on purchasing decisions for Korean products in Indonesia. This research is intended for consumers who know Innisfree skincare products in Jakarta City who are at least 17 years old and fans of Kpop Idol Kim Mingyu as a brand ambassador. This research uses quantitative deductive methods. Conducted with 115 Respondents and data obtained from online questionnaires on Google Forms. This study uses PLS SEM (Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling). The results of this study show that Brand Ambassadors help increase Purchasing Decisions, while Brand Image strengthens brand image. Brand Awareness also contributes to a better understanding of Brand Image, but does not directly influence Purchasing Decisions. This shows that marketing strategies for KPOP Idols can shape a strong Brand Image and encourage consumers to make Purchasing Decisions, but Brand Awareness alone is not enough to make consumers make Purchasing Decisions. Companies can use this research to gain a deeper understanding of the use of K-pop idols in marketing strategies, particularly in the Indonesian market. Additionally, this helps Korean brands design more optimal strategies to attract attention and build stronger relationships with Indonesian consumers.

Abstract

This study analyzes learning needs as the foundational basis for developing an electronic module (E-Module) aimed at strengthening elementary students’ critical thinking skills in social studies. The research was conducted in three public elementary schools in Bogor City using a descriptive qualitative design through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and questionnaire administration involving 60 students and six teachers. The findings indicate that students’ critical thinking abilities predominantly remain at the lower-order levels of Bloom’s taxonomy. Although 58% of students were able to recall factual information and 61% could restate basic concepts, only 22% demonstrated the ability to apply concepts to novel situations. Moreover, merely 15% were capable of analyzing, and only 8% were able to evaluate social issues presented during instruction. Learning practices are heavily dominated by teacher-centered lectures and textbook dependency, with limited utilization of digital and interactive learning media. Teachers also reported constraints related to insufficient digital resources, limited pedagogicaltechnology integration skills, and challenges in designing inquiry-oriented materials that support higherorder thinking. These conditions underscore the urgent need for pedagogical innovation through the development of digital E-Modules that scaffold reasoning processes, facilitate inquiry-based learning, and promote higher-order thinking in alignment with the competency demands of the Merdeka Curriculum. The outcomes of this needs analysis provide a substantive empirical foundation for subsequent stages of EModule design, particularly the development of culturally responsive and technology-enhanced instructional materials that can improve student engagement, conceptual mastery, and critical thinking performance within the elementary social studies context.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of Work Demands (WD) on Turnover Intention (TI), considering the mediation of Burnout (BO) and Work-Family Conflict (WFC) among employees in the private banking sector residing in the Jakarta area. This research is motivated by the high Turnover Intention among Generation Z employees due to work pressure and role imbalance. This study aims to analyse the effect of WD on TI and to examine the mediating roles of BO and WFC in that relationship. This quantitative research involved 240 respondents selected thru purposive sampling and analysed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The results show that WD has a positive and significant effect on BO (β=0.501) and WFC (β=0.392). BO has a positive and significant effect on TI (β=0.698), while WFC does not have a significant effect on TI (β=0.103). Indirectly, WD has a significant effect on TI thru BO (β=0.350), but not thru WFC (β=0.040). The implications of this research emphasize the need for a more realistic evaluation of workload and work targets, adjustment of the number of clients or daily targets for front liners, provision of counselling services and employee assistance programs (EAP), stress management training, as well as monitoring burnout thru periodic internal surveys to reduce turnover intention and achieve a more balanced work schedule.
