Abstract

The era of Society 5.0 demands profound transformation within Islamic Education Management (MPI), particularly in integrating Islamic values with technological advancements such as AI, IoT, and big data. This study employs the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to identify and classify key issues faced by MPI in the disruptive digital era. The findings reveal four major problems: non-adaptive leadership and digital culture, insufficiently innovative curricula that have yet to fully integrate 21st-century competencies, limited infrastructure and persistent digital divides across regions, and low human resource competence in digital literacy and pedagogy. These results highlight the need for adaptive strategies, including strengthening digital leadership, updating technology-based curricula, expanding equitable access to digital infrastructure, and enhancing human resource capacity through continuous training. This research provides an important contribution to mapping managerial challenges and offers strategic recommendations for realizing Islamic education governance that is relevant, innovative, and competitive in the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

This research departs from the need to develop the competence of widyaiswara, which has emphasised hard skills, while the soft skills aspect has not received adequate attention. The Qur'an provides a clear foundation for the development of soft skills in the form of praiseworthy qualities or morals that must be owned and continuously developed. These characters include consistency (istiqomah), humility (tawadhu'), sincerity, integrity, and an attitude of iḥsān (doing good). This competency is intended for widyaiswara to develop a stable, wise, mature, and authoritative character and to serve as a role model for students. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a library research approach. The data sources are taken from verses of the Qur'an related to the development of soft skills, supported by interpretations from various books of interpretation, spanning styles, periods, and schools of thought. This study concludes that the strategy of developing widyaiswara soft skill competencies according to the Qur'an can be realised through tadzkirah (reminder), uswah ḥasanah (exemplary) and ihsan. Tadzkirah is done through routine recitation or discussion of Qur'anic values; uswah ḥasanah is implemented through good example or noble character; ihsan is realised through good behaviour in social and professional interactions. This research emphasises that soft skills are the primary foundation that strengthens hard skills, in line with the views of classical scholars and modern research, which states that the mastery of strong soft skills largely determines professional success.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that is rich in unique and interesting cultures and traditions from various parts of the island of Sabang to Merauke which should be proud, preserved and preserved. One of them is the culture that comes from the Sasak tribe in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The Sasak tribe is one of the tribes in Indonesia who live on the island of Lombok using the Sasak language as its regional language. The Sasak tribe has one unique culture that is still practised by its people today, namely the Merariq culture. Merariq culture is one of a series of marriage processes by taking away the beloved bride. However, the merariq culture is considered inappropriate when viewed from Islamic law, which is the religion of the majority of the Sasak people. In Islam, marriage or marriage in terms of its meaning is to gather and unite. Marriage in Islam is an act that is legalized, has the value of worship and is confirmed in the holy book of the Al-Quran. This article aims to explain the contradiction of merariq culture from the perspective of Islamic law. This article uses a literature study research method. The results showed that in this merariq culture not all aspects violate Islamic law, including in merariq culture there is a procession of the marriage contract which is the legal reference for the bride and groom as a halal partner.

Abstract

Background: Reading comprehension and critical thinking are fundamental competencies that support students’ literacy development and learning across subjects. Nevertheless, many elementary school students still experience difficulties in interpreting texts and evaluating information critically. Aims: This study aims to examine the reading comprehension and critical thinking abilities of fourth-grade elementary school students in Indonesian language learning. Method: The study employed a descriptive quantitative design. Participants consisted of 37 fourth-grade students from a public elementary school in Serang City selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using an essay-based test developed according to indicators of reading comprehension and critical thinking, including identifying problems, comparing arguments, proposing solutions, generating ideas, and expressing opinions. The instrument was validated through expert judgment to ensure content suitability. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques such as mean scores, percentages, and categorization of students’ ability levels. Results: The analysis revealed that students’ critical thinking skills generally fell into the moderate category with an average score of 60.14 out of 100. Students’ scores ranged from 30 to 80, with both the median and mode recorded at 65, indicating that most scores were concentrated around this value. In terms of category distribution, 21.62% of students were classified as low, 64.86% as moderate, and 13.51% as high. Conclusion: The findings suggest that although students have developed basic critical thinking abilities, their analytical reasoning and argumentation skills remain limited. Therefore, instructional strategies that encourage deeper reading, discussion, and reasoning activities are needed to strengthen students’ critical thinking development.
