Abstract

The quality of learning evaluation instruments is often suboptimal due to teachers' limitations in developing indicators, validity, and reliability of questions. This community service activity aims to improve teachers' competence through participatory training that includes indicator development, question writing practice, validity and reliability testing, question bank development, and guide module creation. The results show an increase in teachers' understanding and skills in producing questions that are appropriate, valid, and reliable. The outputs in the form of a question bank and guidance module are useful as practical references in learning evaluation, in line with previous studies that emphasize the importance of strengthening teachers' assessment competencies.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of critical thinking skills among primary school students in science learning, which requires innovation in teaching materials. The purpose of this study was to develop and test the effectiveness of Student Worksheets based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) to improve critical thinking skills in the subject of 'Light and Its Properties'. Research and Development (R&D) were conducted using the ADDIE model and a quasi-experimental design. The research subjects consisted of 52 fifth-grade elementary school students, divided into experimental and control groups. The research instruments included essay tests, observation sheets, and assessment rubrics. Expert validation results showed that the Student Worksheet was deemed highly valid in terms of media (4.58), valid in terms of material (4.44), and valid in terms of language (4.46). The effectiveness test results proved that the experimental class experienced a significant increase in all critical thinking indicators (total score of 20.9) compared to the control class (14.1). Statistical tests (p < 0.001) and effect sizes (Cohen's d = 1.65-2.45) confirmed that this improvement was statistically significant and had a large effect. It was concluded that PBL-based Student Worksheets were effective in fostering critical thinking skills in primary school students and were recommended for use in science learning.

Abstract

Critical thinking skill is a skill that students need to have in the 21st century. When students have critical thinking skills, they are expected to be able to seriously understand, analyze, and process the information before making a decision. The research objective is to improve students' critical thinking skills through PBL-based worksheets on the subject of the human digestive system. This LKPD product was developed using the ADDIE model, which was tested at MIN 2 West Lampung. As many as 15 students were in the control class and 25 students were in the experimental class. The research results indicate that the validated LKPD based on the validity test analysis using Aiken reveals a score of 0.8210 in the valid category. The analysis of the practicality test indicates 85% for educators and 88% for students, both are in the very practical category. The product effectiveness analysis reveals an average pre-test score of 58.4 and an average post-test score of 83.2. The development of worksheets based on the PBL model has a significant influence on students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Along with the development of sophisticated science and technology (IPTEK), the tools used by educators are not optimal in learning. This can be seen from the lack of student interaction during learning activities. Students do not have the opportunity to use the media that are used by educators frequently. In geometry learning on the material of building space, the understanding level of students on this material requires visualization. Students are confused about imagining the shape of the building space. Hence, the research method used by the researcher is descriptive research with a quantitative approach, which describes a situation objectively using numbers ranging from data collection, data interpretation and appearance, as well as the results. Based on the research result that has been conducted, there is an effect of the implementation of GeoGebra on 3D geometry learning space building material on the mathematical reasoning ability. In addition, the effect of GeoGebra implementation on learning geometry 3D space building material on mathematical reasoning ability is 94.9%.

Abstract

Teaching materials that stimulate Computational Thinking (CT) and Self-Regulated Learning (SRL), particularly for high school electricity topics, are currently limited. This study aims to develop an interactive problem-based e-module with a deep learning approach that is valid and suitable for pilot use to support CT and SRL. A mixed-methods design was employed, and the e-module was developed using the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation). Validation was conducted by five experts (three lecturers and two physics teachers), assessing content, design, and language. A needs analysis of 50 high school physics teachers revealed that 76% had not actively stimulated CT in their teaching, and 90% reported the absence of problem-based interactive e-modules for CT and SRL. Expert validation resulted in an average score of 87.6%, indicating the product's validity. Teacher and student responses yielded practicality scores of 94.47% and 95.26%, respectively, showing the e-module's high suitability for use. Evaluation of learning effectiveness, including CT and SRL gains, remains an area for future research. In conclusion, the findings indicate that the developed e-module effectively addresses the need for problem-based digital learning materials and is ready for preliminary implementation to support CT and SRL development.

Abstract

Field evidence shows that most lecturers do not yet have specific guidelines for assessing students' process skills, so that assessment remains subjective and oriented towards final results. In fact, the main objective of project-based learning is to develop critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity skills. This study aims to develop an objective, consistent, and transparent process assessment rubric using the ADDIE model. The research participants included 5 lecturers and 72 students from project-based classes. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then validated by experts and tested for reliability. The results showed that the rubric instrument obtained an average validity of 97% (highly valid) and practicality and effectiveness of 90.25% (highly effective). This rubric contains 21st-century skill indicators and is equipped with an informative reporting system, enabling it to provide constructive feedback to students. Thus, the developed process assessment rubric not only improves the objectivity and consistency of evaluation but also supports the achievement of project-based learning objectives in higher education.

Abstract

21st-century education emphasizes critical thinking as a core competency that must be developed in learning, including physics. However, teacher assessments are still based mainly on conventional written exams, limiting the comprehensive measurement of students’ critical thinking skills. This issue is critical, especially for complex topics such as static fluids. This study aims to analyze the need for developing adaptive assessment-based instruments in physics learning. A descriptive approach was used, with data collected via questionnaires from 24 physics teachers and 37 high school students in Lampung Province. Data were analyzed using percentages for closed-ended questions and descriptive narratives for open-ended responses. Results indicate that physics assessments remain dominated by written tests, critical thinking indicators are incompletely measured, and question quality is rarely analyzed in depth. Although teachers and students have used digital assessments, these are not adaptive, as all students receive questions at the same difficulty level. The implications highlight the importance of developing valid, reliable, and practical adaptive assessment instruments that can adjust to students’ abilities. Such instruments can improve the measurement of critical thinking, support more effective and personalized learning, and strengthen both the theoretical understanding and practical application of adaptive assessment in physics education.

Abstract

This study addresses the issue of low learning outcomes among fourth-grade students in mathematics at SD Negeri 8 Metro Timur. The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning model on students' mathematics learning outcomes. This research employed a quantitative approach using a Quasi-Experimental Design, specifically the Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 57 students determined through saturated sampling. Data were collected using both test and non-test techniques and analyzed using simple linear regression analysis. The results indicated that the Realistic Mathematics Education learning model has a significant effect on the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary school students.
