Abstract

Islamic religion is enriched with various teachings, including brief verses in the Qur'an that contain the values of faith and Islam. To integrate this, strategies are needed to strengthen the religious identity of students that can help them gain a deeper understanding of the religious teachings and values they adhere to with religious habituation programs. The purpose of this study is to explain the ODOS2 (one day one short surah) religious habituation program and contribute further understanding regarding the effectiveness of religious habituation methods in increasing students' understanding of Islamic religious teachings in the ODOS2 (one day one short surah) method. This research is qualitative with a case study approach to see the reality of ODOS2 (one day one short surah) religious habituation activities carried out at SMA IT Asy-Syakur as a superior religious habituation program. The source of this research data was sourced from religious habituation activities of students at SMA IT Asy-Syakur and scientific articles relevant to the research focus. Data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation studies. There are many religious habituation programs implemented in every school that have become redundant. One of the religious habituation programs that can be applied in schools to strengthen Islamic identity is the ODOS2 (one day one short surah) religious habituation program implemented at Asy-Syakur IT High School. The program is proven to strengthen the Islamic identity of students.

Abstract

AbstractSpiritual and social attitudes are important competencies that must be obtained by students through direct or indirect learning. Among the factors that determine the success of strengthening spiritual and social attitudes in learning are teaching materials that enable students to understand the experiences gained. The focus of this study is to strengthen students' spiritual and social attitudes through teaching materials that can make students give meaning to learning experiences. This research was conducted by observing and open questionnaire filling by students regarding the meaningfulness of teaching materials used in learning Islamic education (PAI) to strengthen the competency of spiritual attitudes and social attitudes of students. The results showed that the use of teaching materials in the student's book to reflect learning experiences and follow-up to improve their spiritual and social behaviour had fulfilled the need to reflect the values of spiritual and social attitudes from their learning experiences. Abstract

Character education is essential, especially for the younger generation. Successful character education can be seen in students’ daily behavior, in how they apply vertical relation to God and horizontal regard to His creatures. To perform an effective character education, various methods and learning media can make students more excited at character values in the learning materials. The story method, mutalaah within the al-Qira’ah al-Rashidah Book 1 by Abdul Fatah Shabri Bik and Ali Amir Bik, includes some stories that contain noble morality. This study showed that character education through the story method has several stages, (1) the preparation of the syllabus and lesson plan, (2) the learning activity that covers opening, teaching-learning process, and closing. The process of planting moral values is carried out when a teacher explains the content and text of the lesson. Meanwhile, a formal evaluation is done in the semester test, besides daily assessment of student’s behavior in pesantren; (3) the story method through the learning mutalaah is considered effective in the development of morals because instinctively students like stories and are encouraged and motivated to practice the moral values in the mutalaah stories; (4) some factors supporting character education through the story method include the support of pesantren and principal, teacher’s linear educational background, and availability of decent infrastructure. On the contrary, the inhibiting factors include students’ diverse educational backgrounds, less motivation to study Arabic vocabulary, and lack of learning media that supports the delivery of learning materials.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model in enhancing students’ learning motivation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMP Plus Nurul Hidayah Pasundan. Employing a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through classroom observation and documentation. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the STAD model fosters a collaborative, democratic, and pedagogically meaningful learning environment. Students demonstrated increased learning motivation, evidenced by active participation, enthusiasm in group discussions, and improved formative assessment outcomes. Theoretically, these results reinforce the principles of positive interdependence and individual accountability within cooperative learning frameworks. Practically, the implementation of STAD facilitates the internalization of Islamic values such as solidarity (ukhuwah), responsibility, and deliberation (mushawarah), while also serving as a relevant pedagogical alternative for character education in the 21st century. This research contributes to the development of contextual and value-based Islamic Religious Education models and positions STAD as a cross-cultural pedagogical strategy that supports the formation of intelligent, critical, and morally grounded Muslim students.
