Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Accounting Conservatism, Inventory Intensity, Capital Intensity, and Fixed Asset Intensity on Tax Avoidance. The variables studied are Accounting Conservatism, Inventory Intensity, Capital Intensity, and Fixed Asset Intensity as independent variables, while tax avoidance is the dependent variable. This research uses a quantitative method. The population consists of companies listed in the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) 70 on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2021-2023. The sample includes 42 companies selected using purposive sampling. The data used are secondary data obtained from the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The analysis technique applied in this study is multiple linear regression with the help of IBM SPSS 25 software. The results show that inventory intensity has a significant positive effect on tax avoidance, fixed asset intensity has a significant negative effect on tax avoidance, while accounting conservatism has no positive effect on tax avoidance, and capital intensity has no negative effect on tax avoidance. The variables of accounting conservatism, inventory intensity, capital intensity, and fixed asset intensity simultaneously have an effect on tax avoidance.

Abstract

Introduction: Oil palm nurseries are crucial to oil palm farming success. Thus, precise management measures from the start, such as giving nutrients and using optimal planting material, are essential. Vermicompost and guano were tested as organic fertilizers in oil palm fields to replace chemical fertilizers. This study aims to evaluate the effect of guano and vermicompost as organic fertilizers on the growth of oil palm seedlings during the pre-nursery stage. Methods: Besides the control group, the experimental treatments included 10% vermicompost, 20% vermicompost, 10% guano, and 20% guano, each replicated five times in a completely randomized design. Results: The introduction of 10% guano resulted in a significant enhancement across key growth metrics Addition of 10% guano had 20.0% more leaves, 22.5% more stem diameter, and 62.1% more shoot dry weight than the control group. This study shows that guano, which includes 19% P2O5, can boost oil palm seedling growth. The inceptisols was already rich in nutrients, thus vermicompost had no effect on it throughout the three-month testing. Since the soil conditions were good, vermicompost did not change them during the three-month trial. The correlation matrix showed a strong and constant link between seedling shoot and root fresh and dry weights. The relationship between organic fertilizers and oil palm nursery growth highlights the importance of a well-rounded plant development profile. This highlights the complex relationship between organic fertilizers and oil palm growth. Conclusion: Guano at 10% has been shown to improve oil palm seedling growth in the nursery phase, outperforming vermicompost.

Abstract

Cymbopogon nardus L. Rendle is one of the world trades essential oil plants. The high selling value of citronella oil is determined by the characteristics of its physical and chemical properties. In this study, determined the physical and chemical properties of citronellal oil isolated by two different methods, namely method of laboratory distillation (M1) and local community distillation (M2). The result showed that the essential oil produce from both methods match with SNI 06-3953-1995 on its physical properties. The results of the chemical composition using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) indicated there are 38 and 48 compounds in the essential oil of M1 and M2, respectively with the main compositions are citronellal, citronellol, and geraniol. The antibacterial activity evaluated using the disc diffusion method showed inhibitory ability against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis, but no inhibitory ability of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Both, these M1 and M2 essential oils are categorized as a very strong antibacterial at concentration of 3.125% and 50%, respectively.

Abstract

The sungkai plant (Peronema canescens Jack), belonging to the Lamiaceae family, is a plant that is traditionally used as medicine, including toothache, malaria, and fever medicine. In this research, isolation was carried out with vacuum liquid chromatography (VLC), solid and liquid fractions were obtained. The solid fraction was further separated using column chromatography to obtain the isolated compound as a white solid (amorphous) weighing 10 mg (melting point 140˚C-142˚C). The results of the UV spectrum data show that there are no conjugated double bonds. The results of the IR spectrum show the presence of C-H groups at wave numbers 2921,49 cm-1 and 2856,94 cm-1, C=O groups at wave numbers, C=C groups at wave numbers 1641,51 cm-1, and dimethyl germinal which is characteristic of triterpenoid compounds at wave numbers 1456.68 cm-1 and 1372.41 cm-1. Meanwhile, the isolated oil was analyzed for chemical components using GC-MS. It was discovered that there were 83 chemical compound components contained therein with 4 main compound components, namely pentadecanoic acid (16.65%), 9,12-octadecanoic acid (16.12%), propyl palmitate (7.89%), and hexadecenoic acid, methyl ester (5.59%). A cytotoxic test was carried out on both fractions using the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. The results showed that the isolated compound was non-toxic with an LC50 value of 190214.2807 mg/L and the isolated oil was very toxic with an LC50 value of 34.2452 mg/L.

Abstract

Hydropower is one of the power plants that supplies electrical energy. It has several machines and equipment that have a time limit of use. To anticipate the limitation of the use, maintenance of machinery and equipment are needed in order to return its original state and can perform its function as usual. Therefore some indicators required to determine maintenance work performance level to provide the optimal results. The Traditional measurement methods have some limitations that make it difficult to implement in industrial environments. This requires a performance measurement method that can provide a balanced perspective on the overall system performance. One of them is implementing the Maintenance Scorecard and Objective Matrix (OMAX) method to assess the performance of hydropower maintenance. Objective research in this assessment is to integrate Maintenance Scorecard and Objective Matrix (OMAX) approach in Maninjau Hydropower. Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are defined by 6 perspectives: productivity perspective, cost effectiveness perspective, a safety perspective, an environmental perspective, quality perspective and learning perspective. The priorities are determined by using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). We then measure the performance of maintenance by using Objective Matrix (OMAX) until we get the level of achievement of the performance in the current situation. The results obtained in the process of designing the scorecard maintenance on the Maninjau hydropower that produces overall 20 KPI consists of 9 KPI for productivity perspective, 4 KPI for quality perspective, 2 KPI for safety perspective, 2 KPI for environmental perspective and 3 KPIs for learning perspective. There are 5 KPIs for corporate level, 8 KPIs for strategic level and 7 KPIs functional level. The operation results show the number of KWH that produced, Capacity Factor and Equivalent Outage Force Factor are in the yellow zone. It means the attentions and improvements are needed to improve performance in the next period.
