Abstract

Border areas are often associated with the complexity of identities, vulnerability to conflicts, and low security levels. This study aims to assist residents in border areas with diverse social, cultural, and religious differences. The selected areas are Gorontalo, which has a strong Islamic identity, and North Sulawesi, which is predominantly Christian. The study focuses on preachers and Quran teachers, as they hold a central role in conveying religious messages. The research method used is the Community Based Research (CBR) model with a descriptive approach. The results of the study found that religious moderation support through the internalization of moderate Islamic values, such as tolerance, rejection of violence, national commitment, and recognition of local traditions, successfully enhanced the understanding of religious moderation, although the increase was relatively small. Changes before and after mentoring, from understanding to a very understanding level of 10%. Understanding of moderation will be more optimal if mentoring activities are carried out continuously through formal and non-formal activities. This study recommends that religious moderation activities in formal forms need to receive non-formal mentoring in the form of implementing moderation values in everyday life so that they have relatively large potential in forming moderate attitudes in society's religion.

Abstract

This study discusses the strategy for developing human resources (HR) in Muhammadiyah Charity (AUM) through information technology (IT) training organized by the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IMM) in Baubau City. In the increasingly developing digital era, mastery of technology is a mandatory competency for workers, including AUM employees. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that the IT training provided by IMM has a positive impact on improving the competence of AUM employees, especially in managing digital-based administration, using office software. However, there are several challenges in implementing the training, such as the digital gap between generations, limited IT infrastructure, and lack of post-training assistance. Therefore, a sustainability strategy is needed, such as mentoring, improving digital infrastructure, and organizing more specific advanced training to ensure the effectiveness of this program in the long term. By implementing the right strategy, AUM can be better prepared to face the challenges of digitalization and increase competitiveness in providing more efficient and professional technology-based services.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of the Campus One-Stop Service Information System (SISKA) application in supporting the admission services for new students (PMB) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Buton. The background of this research is based on the importance of digitalizing higher education services to improve efficiency, transparency, and convenience for prospective students. This research employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The study was conducted at the PMB Unit of UM Buton. The results indicate that the SISKA application has significantly simplified the new student admission process online, from uploading documents and filling out personal data to selecting study programs. However, its implementation still faces several challenges, such as low digital literacy among some applicants, the absence of a user guidance feature, and technical difficulties in uploading documents. The discussion is based on public service management theory and is supported by previous studies emphasizing the role of digital literacy in utilizing online-based service systems. The conclusion of this study is that the SISKA application has significantly supported the one-stop service management system, although improvements in user education and feature enhancement are needed to make the system more inclusive and effective in future implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the content of verses from the Qur'an that provide education about how ethics are in undergoing association between fellow humans. Using descriptive-analytical methods, this study describes and analyzes the content of verses from the Qur'an about friendship or ethics in associations as well as several hadiths related to these verses. The results of this study show that friends or companions play an important role in a person's life. Bad effects may befall someone as a result of hanging out with friends who have a bad character. Vice versa, great benefits will also be obtained when getting along with good (pious) people. Therefore, the Qur'an has provided education on how ethics are in living relationships between fellow human beings. Namely: 1.) In associating, social interaction relationships between fellow human beings are established; 2.) In getting along there is a strong ukhuwwah bond. Namely by always being tolerant between religious people, avoiding all kinds of attitudes that can damage the relationship between mankind, always helping each other in kindness and avoiding hostility regardless of social background, and always having an airy attitude and being happy to forgive others; 3.) The establishment of a solid friendship in getting along.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze economic growth in the ASEAN region by examining economic indicators such as trade openness, labor force, and foreign direct investment (FDI) flows. To provide a broader perspective, an Islamic analysis is incorporated to offer a comparative view. Additionally, the study introduces a variable for government governance to evaluate its moderating effect (using Moderating Regression Analysis) on the relationship between dependent and independent variables. The research period spans from 2017 to 2022, covering ten ASEAN member countries as the sample. Secondary data sourced from the World Bank, and Our World In Data were analyzed using a panel data approach. The study's findings reveal that trade openness has a negative and insignificant effect on economic growth, the labor force has a significant positive effect, and foreign direct investment has a negative and insignificant effect. Furthermore, the Good Governance Indicator effectively moderates the impact of the labor force on economic growth. These findings provide valuable insights for policymakers and practitioners in formulating sustainable and inclusive economic development strategies in the ASEAN region. Such strategies include promoting equitable trade policies, implementing selective investment strategies, and improving governance across ASEAN member states. Moreover, this study emphasizes the importance of fostering regional cooperation among ASEAN countries to share best practices in implementing good governance principles, consistent with Islamic values, to achieve economic stability and collective prosperity

Abstract

This study aims to critically describe the glory of women behind the narrative of masculine superiority in the Qur’an. The material object of this research is the result of ‘Abbas Mahmud al-‘Aqqad’s interpretation in the book al-Mar’ah fi al-Qur’an. Broadly speaking, the book outlines the solution to the problems faced by women in the laws contained in the Qur’an. This type of research is library research. Using qualitative methods, the author collects data from various literature. Data sources include two types, namely primary sources and secondary sources. The primary source of data is the book al-Mar’ah fi al-Qur’an by ‘Abbas Mahmud al-‘Aqqad. Secondary data sources, namely various kinds of literature from books and journals related to the object of discussion. The results of the study show that by using the interpretation model of the maudhu’i (thematic) method, al-‘Aqqad explains the problem of the superiority of men over women based on three interrelated verses. Namely: QS al-Baqarah/2: 228, QS al-Nisa’/4: 32, and QS al-Nisa’/4: 34. He then analyzed the verse by facing it with the reality that occurred in the midst of society as evidence of the concept he carried out in order to create the benefit of mankind. For al-‘Aqqad, the narrative of the verses of the Qur’an that hint at the superiority of men over women contains the wisdom that it is a gesture to glorify the woman herself.

Abstract

This study examines the sufi exegesis of Ibnu ‘Ajibah (1747–1809 CE) within the framework of institutionalized sufi orders (tariqah), positioning his work, al-Bahr al-Madid fi Tafsir al-Qur’an al-Majid, as a culmination of the mature sufi interpretative tradition. By applying Gadamer’s hermeneutic theory, the authors analyze how Ibnu ‘Ajibah’s socio-historical context marked by Morocco’s political instability and the ascendancy of the Syazily-Darqawi Sufi order shaped his integration of esoteric (batin) and exoteric (zahir) Qur’anic meanings. The research highlights two core dimensions of his exegesis: (1) the authority of the spiritual leader (mursyid) as an indispensable guide for disciples, rooted in Qur’anic verses such as QS al-Ma’idah/5: 35 and QS al-Nahl/16: 43, and (2) the institutionalized disciple-master relationship, legitimized through rituals like the oath of allegiance (bai’ah) and modeled on prophetic covenants (e.g., QS al-Fath/48: 10). The study argues that Ibnu ‘Ajibah’s tafsir transcends earlier Sufi traditions by systematically embedding the hierarchical structures of the Tariqah into Qur’anic interpretation by situating Ibnu ‘Ajibah’s work within the socio-religious dynamics of his era, this research underscores the role of institutionalized Sufism in redefining Qur’anic exegesis, offering fresh insights into the interplay between spiritual authority, textual hermeneutics, and Sufi institutionalization in the late pre-modern Islamic world.
