Abstract

Limited reports studying emotional literacy of students were found, especially research about the ability to manage emotions and developing social interactions therefore triggered this research to be conducted. Hence, this report’s objective is to describe emotional literacy of elementary school students’ abilities in managing emotion and developing social interactions during learning activity. This research utilized qualitative approach by classroom ethnography method. The research participants were students and teachers at an elementary school in Tasikmalaya city. Data collection were gathered by observations, interviews, and documentations. Thematic data analysis was conducted by referring to emotional literacy from Steiner i.e. data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusion. Results of this research shown that students were able to express emotions such as happiness, anger, sadness, and being annoyed productively; most of the students express their emotions being experienced spontaneously, self-harmed and others around, some of the students were not able yet developing their social interactions; some of the students tend to have low self-confident and seldom having interaction optimally during learning process. Therefore, emotional literacy of the students, especially the ability in managing emotions and developing social interactions were not adequate yet. The implication shown that at the elementary school being investigated, massive education based on emotional literacy still not being conducted yet, hence it was recommended to conduct emotional literacy education through habituation or integrated learning activity in the school.

Abstract

Smong menjadi sebuah sastra lisan yang berasal dari Pulau Simeulue, Indonesia. Pengetahuan lokal masyarakat Simeulue mengenai Smong terbukti efektif dalam mengurangi korban tsunami 2004 silam. Nilai filosofis dan historis yang terkandung dalam smong menjadi sebuah alasan pentingnya masyarakat diluar Simeulue untuk mengenal sastra lisan ini. Selain menjadi topik menarik dalam mitigasi bencana, smong juga menarik saat diintegrasikan dalam berbagai lintas disiplin ilmu karena nilai – nilai yang terkandung didalamnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Systematic Literature Review (SLR) untuk mengetahui bagaimana integrasi smong dalam persfektif antropologi budaya, pendidikan, ilmu kebencanaan, dan media informasi dari penelitian – penelitian terdahulu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa smong dapat diintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran, tradisi budaya, media penyampai ilmu mitigasi bencana, serta media informasi bagi masyarakat baik di dalam maupun diluar pulau Simeulue. Kemajuan teknologi menjadikan smong diteliti dan dikembangkan lebih luas oleh para peneliti.

Abstract

Abstract: This study is a qualitative study that aims to describe the reading literacy skills of fifth grade students in an elementary school in Cimanggu District in three aspects, namely the aspect of finding information, the aspect of interpreting and integrating, and the aspect of evaluating and reflecting on the contents of the reading. The subjects in this study were fifth grade students, with data collection techniques in the form of tests on 21 students, and interviews. Interviews were conducted using purposive sampling. Data analysis techniques were carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This study shows that the reading literacy skills of fifth grade students vary in each aspect. Most students are able to find written information well, but still have difficulty in interpreting, integrating, and reflecting on the contents of the reading. The ability to evaluate and reflect on the contents of the reading is the weakest aspect, especially for students with sufficient and lacking categories.  Keyword: Ability, Literacy, Reading   Abstrak: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi membaca siswa kelas V di salah satu sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Cimanggu dalam tiga aspek yakni aspek menemukan informasi, aspek menginterpretasi dan mengintegrasikan serta aspek mengevaluasi dan merefleksi isi bacaan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V, dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes kepada 21 siswa, dan wawancara. Wawancara dilakukan menggunakan purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi membaca siswa kelas V bervariasi pada tiap aspeknya. Sebagian besar siswa mampu menemukan informasi tersurat dengan baik, namun masih kesulitan dalam menginterpretasi dan mengintegrasikan serta merefleksikan isi bacaan. Kemampuan mengevaluasi dan merefleksikan isi bacaan menjadi aspek yang paling lemah, terutama pada siswa dengan kategori cukup dan kurang. Kata Kunci: Kemampuan, Literasi, Membaca

Abstract

Abstract: Reading literacy learning is based on higher-order thinking skills. This study was conducted in elementary schools with high AKM reading literacy scores and is expected to become a best practice for other schools to learn about reading literacy learning procedures in the field. This study describes the pre-reading, reading, and post-reading stages. The researcher used a qualitative approach with an ethnographic method. Data were obtained through observation and interviews with the principal, teachers, and fifth-grade students. The data were analyzed through reduction, presented thematically, and concluded. Overall, the implementation in the fifth grade of SDN X was not yet fully optimal. The suggestion is for teachers to further develop teaching materials, explore reading strategies, and be consistent in learning reflection. Keyword: Reading Literacy Learning, Procedures, Pre-reading, Reading, Post-reading   Abstrak: Pembelajaran literasi membaca didasarkan pada kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD berkategori tinggi skor AKM literasi membaca dan diharapkan menjadi best practice sekolah lain agar mengetahui prosedur pembelajaran literasi membaca di lapangan. Penelitian ini menggambarkan tahapan prabaca, membaca, dan pascabaca. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode etnografi. Data diperoleh melalui observasi dan wawancara kepada kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswa kelas V. Data dianalisis melalui reduksi, disajikan tematik, dan disimpulkan. Secara keseluruhan, pelaksanaannya di kelas V SDN X belum sepenuhnya optimal. Sarannya guru agar lebih mengembangkan bahan ajar, mengulik strategi membaca, dan mengonsistensikan refleksi pembelajaran. Abstract

Pelatihan program literasi berbasis media digital Google Sites dilatarbelakangi oleh belum adanya program/pembelajaran literasi yang berbasis media digital. Tujuannya untuk memberikan penguatan kompetensi guru dalam memanfaatkan teknologi digital untuk menunjang pembelajaran literasi di Sekolah Dasar. Metode yang digunakan mencakup ceramah, demonstrasi, pelatihan terbimbing, dan diskusi yang melibatkan 19 guru dengan karakteristik sejumlah besar guru tersebut bukan merupakan lulusan Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar. Selain itu, guru diberikan pendampingan keterampilan praktik dalam mengimplementasikan pembelajaran literasi  berbasis teknologi digital. Hasil kegiatan tersebut menunjukkan Google Sites literasi memberikan manfaat yang signifikan sebagai media pembelajaran.  Hal ini terbukti dengan terlaksananya proses belajar yang menjadi lebih praktis dan mudah diakses oleh guru maupun siswa.  Program ini dinilai efektif dalam menyediakan akses bacaan, membangun keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa, serta memperkuat penguasaan kosakata bahasa Indonesia. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi positif dalam penguatan kompetensi guru khususnya dalam pengembangan program/pembelaran literasi digital di lingkungan SILN. Meskipun demikian, guru menyarankan agar platform ini dapat dikembangkan lebih lanjut, di antaranya dengan menyediakan akses secara offline dan penambahan koleksi buku digital.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan kondisi pohon literasi sebagai fasilitas penunjang gerakan literasi di sekolah dasar. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan kualitatif. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Adapun teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan mereduksi data, menyajikan data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Peneliti memperoleh kesimpulan bahwa kondisi pohon literasi yang ada di tiga SD yaitu SDN A, SDN B, dan SDN C memiliki desain yang berbeda, ada yang dengan cara dilukis, ada yang terbuat dari bahan banner, dan ada yang terbuat dari bahan kertas karton. Perbedaan ini dihasilkan karena adanya keterlibatan orang tua dalam perencanaan dan pembuatan pohon literasi pada masing-masing kelas. Secara keseluruhan berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa kondisi pohon literasi di kelas terlihat bagus, menarik, dan membuat peserta termotivasi membaca. Media pohon literasi yang dibuat harus mengundang ketertarikan peserta didik untuk membaca supaya keberadaannya dapat lebih memberikan dampak positif bagi peserta didik. Media pohon literasi di tiga SD sudah sesuai dengan standar kondisi media pohon literasi, tetapi pohon literasi yang terbuat dari pohon asli akan memiliki ketahanan yang lebih lama dibandingkan pohon literasi yang terbuat dari bahan kertas.

Abstract

Kebiasaan membaca merupakan perilaku literasi yang terbentuk melalui prroses bertahap dan tidak terjadi secara instan. Untuk menumbuhkan kebiasaan tersebut, sekolah melaksanakan berbagai strategi, salah satunya melalui program Duta Baca. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil pelaksanaan program Duta Baca dalam membentuk kebiasaan membaca siswa, yang ditinjau dari aspek frekuensi dan durasi membaca, ragam bacaan, strategi memperoleh bacaan, serta daya serap terhadap bacaan. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu mixed methods dengan desain explanatory sequential. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket, yang dilengkapi dengan observasi dan wawancara sebagai data pendukung. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 38 siswa yang hadir pada saat pengambilan data dilakukan. Analasis data kuantitatif menggunakan statistik deskriptif, sedangkan data kualitatif dianalisis dengan model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebiasaan membaca siswa secara umum berada pada kategori sedang, dengan rincian: 33 siswa kategori sedang, 4 siswa kategori rendah, dan 1 orang siswa kategori tinggi. Setiap aspek kebiasaan membaca juga berada pada kategori sedang. Kesimpulannya, program Duta Baca cukup efektif dalam membentuk kebiasaan membaca siswa, meskipun sebagian siswa masih berada pada kategori sedang. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar sekolah memberikan penguatan program melalui pelatihan, dukungan, dan variasi literasi yang lebih menarik.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Parents’ Association (Paguyuban Orang Tua Siswa) in supporting the implementation of School-Based Management (SBM) at the elementary school level. The research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, focusing on how parental participation contributes to decision-making, resource management, and the enhancement of educational quality. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis involving school principals, teachers, and active members of the Parents’ Association in several public elementary schools. The findings reveal that the Parents’ Association plays a significant role as a strategic partner in promoting school autonomy by participating in financial transparency, academic supervision, and community empowerment programs. Parents’ involvement encourages stronger collaboration between schools and communities, aligning with the principles of participatory leadership and accountability in SBM. However, challenges such as uneven parental engagement, limited understanding of managerial processes, and socio-economic disparities hinder the effectiveness of their contributions. The study concludes that strengthening communication, leadership support, and capacity-building initiatives for parents is essential to maximize their impact in achieving sustainable, community-driven school management practices.

Abstract

In the 21st century, digital technology is becoming increasingly important in everyday life. Likewise, in the learning process in primary schools, technology has become an essential tool to support and improve the quality of education. However, the use of digital technology in education has not shown consistently good effectiveness, especially in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms. This study aims to assess the effectiveness and identify the challenges and barriers of using technology in EFL learning in primary schools. The research method used is a mixed method with a sequential explanatory strategy. The results showed that 55% of digital technology use was considered effective, and 50% of teachers reported using digital technology several times a week. The most commonly used tools included laptops, projectors, and internet access, though usage patterns varied. Challenges frequently faced by teachers include limited access to devices, unstable internet connections, insufficient training, and lack of technical support. Despite these issues, many teachers demonstrated initiative and creativity in utilizing available resources, though their strategies often lacked structured pedagogical alignment. The findings highlight the importance of professional development focused on the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework, which supports teachers in integrating technology meaningfully within EFL instruction. While the overall use of digital technology in primary school learning has reached a moderately effective level, targeted support is needed to help educators align digital tools with language learning goals, especially in under-resourced settings. Addressing these gaps will enable more impactful and inclusive integration of digital technology in EFL education.
