Abstract

Menulis kreatif adalah keterampilan berbahasa yang penting, namun sering kali peserta didik mengabaikan ejaan, tanda baca, dan huruf kapital. Artikel ini menganalisis penggunaan ketiga aspek tersebut pada 30 peserta didik kelas V dalam kegiatan menulis kreatif menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan peserta didik dalam aspek ini masih belum memadai, dengan banyak kesalahan dan beberapa peserta yang tidak memperhatikan sama sekali. Analisis ini mengungkapkan sejauh mana kemampuan menulis peserta didik serta faktor penyebab kurangnya perhatian terhadap ejaan, tanda baca, dan huruf kapital. Oleh karena itu, penting bagi guru untuk memberikan perhatian khusus dan metode inovatif dalam pengajaran ejaan, tanda baca, dan huruf kapital, sehingga peserta didik dapat berlatih dengan lebih antusias dalam menulis kreatif.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the unoptimal practice of writing assessments of explanatory text in grade V elementary school, which tends to be subjective and lacks specific feedback. This study aims to analyze the need to develop an assessment rubric for writing explanatory texts based on the characteristics of grade V students. The research method used is qualitative, with data collection through observation of assessment practices in the classroom, in-depth interviews with grade V teachers, and review of documentation related to writing assessment. The results showed that current assessment practices vary, use implicit criteria, and provide general feedback. Teachers acknowledge difficulties in assessing specific aspects of writing explanatory texts and need more objective instruments, such as rubrics. Analysis of curriculum documents and existing assessment instruments showed a lack of criteria specification for explanatory texts. The literature study supports the urgency of developing specific, clear, measurable, holistic, and practical rubrics and their potential as assessment and learning tools. This study concludes that there is a significant need to develop a writing assessment rubric for explanatory texts suitable for grade V to improve the objectivity of assessment, feedback effectiveness, and writing learning quality.

Abstract

The implementation of the habituation stage of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) in elementary schools includes several aspects, including reading activities before the learning process begins which are carried out for 15 minutes, the availability of text-rich facilities and environments, the creation of a literacy environment, the selection of reading books, and active participation from the public. The purpose of this study is to summarize various findings related to the implementation, strategies, and impacts of the GLS habituation stage, especially at the elementary school level. This type of research is qualitative research with the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to examine the implementation of the habituation stage of the School Literacy Movement in elementary schools. The results of the study based on the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) have generally achieved all indicators of the habituation stage of the School Literacy Movement in elementary schools. However, there are still schools that are not optimal in their implementation. This is due to limitations in facilities that support literacy such as limitations in reading materials

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman peserta didik kelas V Sekolah Dasar menjadi perhatian dalam konteks tuntutan literasi abad ke-21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan peserta didik kelas V terhadap sumber belajar membaca pemahaman berbasis platform digital Google Sites. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Novelty dari penelitian ini terletak pada identifikasi mendalam kebutuhan spesifik peserta didik kelas V terhadap fitur dan desain sumber belajar membaca pemahaman berbasis Google Sites, yang belum dieksplorasi secara komprehensif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik memiliki ketertarikan yang tinggi terhadap sumber belajar yang kaya visual dan interaktif. Mereka juga mengharapkan topik bacaan yang relevan, penjelasan yang sederhana, serta fitur-fitur interaktif seperti kuis dan galeri media dalam platform Google Sites. Observasi mengindikasikan kurangnya keterlibatan aktif peserta didik dengan sumber belajar konvensional. Studi dokumentasi menyoroti variasi tingkat pemahaman peserta didik dan keterbatasan visual serta interaktivitas terhadap materi. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini berkontribusi pada penyediaan data empiris yang spesifik dan mendalam mengenai kebutuhan peserta didik kelas V terhadap sumber belajar membaca pemahaman berbasis Google Sites.

Abstract

(Title: From Morning to Night: Representation of Time Settings in IndonesianChildren's Stories). This paper aims to describe the time setting of children's stories. The study uses content analysis methods with categorization, tabulation, and inference techniques. Research data sources are 10 children's stories compiled in a book entitled "Naskah Terbaik Lomba Menulis Cerita Anak Tahun 2015 (Best Manuscripts of Children's Story Writing Competition)". The book was chosen purposively because it represented the work of Indonesian children who won national writing competitions. The results showed that (1) the time setting in children's stories was dominated by certain times of the day, such as morning, afternoon, evening, and night; (2) there are several time settings based on month/season/year, time settings based on a person's life phase, time settingsbased on specific history/events, time settings that indicate the past, present, and future; and (3) found a very specific time setting: referring to certain hours, and referring to the position of the sun. Thus, the time setting in the story is represented in various forms. This shows the creativity of Indonesian children in their work.Keywords: children's stories, intrinsic elements, time setting.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited research results that specifically examine emotional literacy in elementary school students. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to describe the emotional literacy of students, especially in the aspect of repairing emotional damage. This research uses a qualitative approach with the classroom ethnography method. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The participants in this study were grade V learners and classroom teachers in one of the elementary schools. The results showed that the learners' ability to repair emotional damage was still diverse and inadequate. Most learners have not realized the impact of their emotions on others, have not been accustomed to apologizing and forgiving sincerely, and have not been able to restore relationships consistently after conflict. These findings indicate the need for emotional literacy learning in primary schools to shape healthy social relationships in life.

Abstract

Canva merupakan aplikasi yang dipakai untuk mendesain berbagai materi grafis. Media pembelajaran digital menjadi salah satu pilihan untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan dan kemampuan siswa dalam memahami puisi. Salah satunya adalah platform Canva yang menarik dan interaktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media Canva terhadap kemampuan mengapresiasi puisi anak sekolah dasar. Pendekatan penelitian yang dipakai adalah praeksperimental, dengan memakai one-group pretest-posttest design. Sampel penelitian meliputi 44 siswa kelas V dari dua sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Cibeureum, Kota Tasikmalaya. Instrumen penelitian berupa soal ujian esai yang terdiri dari lima soal disertai rubrik penilaian hasil evaluasi apresiasi puisi. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan menganalisis memakai uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji hipotesis Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test karena data tidak berdistribusi normal. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan adanya pengaruh signifikan pada nilai apresiasi puisi setelah pembelajaran memakai media Canva. Berdasarkan hasil posttest memperlihatkan bahwa media Canva mampu memfasilitasi siswa dalam mengekspresikan pemahaman, tanggapan, dan apresiasi terhadap puisi dengan lebih baik serta mendorong keterlibatan aktif selama proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for developing a digital-based information literacy model, specifically the TIL (The Information Literacy) Model of The Big Six type, designed for fifth-grade elementary school students categorized as intermediate readers. In the current era of digital disruption, where the flow of information is massive, rapid, and not always based on verified facts, information literacy becomes a fundamental skill. Students are often exposed to unfiltered information, which can lead to confusion, misinterpretation, and difficulty in distinguishing factual content from opinion or misinformation. This research employed a qualitative approach using ethnographic methods. Data collection techniques included semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation involving teachers and students. The findings reveal that students struggle to understand informational texts critically, lack familiarity with effective strategies to access relevant information, and are constrained by limited infrastructure and digital tools. Therefore, the development of a digital-based Big Six TIL Model is considered essential as a structured and contextualized learning approach. This model helps students build critical thinking, information selection, and analytical skills, thereby improving their overall literacy competence. Moreover, integrating digital literacy through this model enhances students’ motivation, supports 21st-century skill development, and prepares them to navigate the digital information landscape more responsibly and independently.

Abstract

Narrative writing is important to train learners' word choice and imagination development, as well as the ability to use simple language that is easy to understand. However, teachers often find it difficult to assess learners' learning outcomes related to narrative writing skills. This study aims to design a rubric for assessing narrative text writing skills using the design-based research method (Reeves model). The steps include problem identification, solution prototype development, iterative process, and reflection. The rubric was piloted on two learners' narrative text writing and assessed by five observers. Before the pilot test, the product was validated by assessment experts (87.5% very feasible) and material experts (80% feasible). The results of the rubric trial showed the probability value of Kendall's W <0.05 (Asymp.Sig SB 0.046 and HF 0.019), indicating that the rubric can be used. In addition, the teacher response questionnaire shows that the rubric facilitates teachers in assessing learners' work in a structured, fair manner and simplifies the assessment process. The rubric also helps teachers provide more specific and targeted feedback to learners. This finding supports efforts to improve the quality of authentic assessment in the Merdeka Curriculum. Further development can be directed at digitizing the rubric to make it more practical and easily accessible. This research makes a real contribution to improving teacher competence in conducting assessments. The developed rubric can also reference other teachers who are making similar assessment instruments. Thus, the results of this study have high applicability in daily learning practices in elementary schools

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze school library management through the formation of a school literacy team at SD Negeri 1 Cimanggu, Pangandaran. The focus of the research includes planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring school library management in an effort to improve students' literacy culture. The method used was a qualitative case study, with data collection techniques through interviews, observations and documentation studies. Research informants included the principal, librarian, teachers and members of the school literacy team. The results showed that the formation of the school literacy team plays a strategic role in optimizing library management, both in terms of services, collection procurement and maintenance, and reading habituation programs. In addition, clear coordination and division of tasks within the literacy team can create a learning environment conducive to literacy learning. The main challenges faced were limited resources and students' interest in reading, which were overcome by developing creative and innovative programs. This study concludes that school library management through the formation of a literacy team can strengthen the library's role as a learning center and build a culture of literacy in the school environment. As a recommendation, schools need to provide ongoing training and facility support for literacy teams to make library management more professional and have an impact on increasing students' reading interest and achievement.
