This research is motivated by the phenomenon of declining morals among some students at the Al-Muttaqin Islamic Boarding School in Situmang, West Pasaman. Although the Ta'lim Al-Muta'allim textbook has been implemented as a guideline for their pursuit of knowledge, behaviors that do not reflect good moral values are still found, such as a lack of respect for teachers, knowledge, and peers. This condition raises the need to evaluate how the implementation of this textbook can strengthen the moral formation of students so that it aligns with the goals of Islamic boarding school education. The purpose of this study is 1) To find out the planning of learning the Ta'lim Al-Muta'allim book on the chapter of glorifying knowledge and teachers in the formation of students' morals at the Al-Muttaqin Islamic Boarding School, Situmang, West Pasaman, 2) To find out the implementation of learning the Ta'lim Al-Muta'allim book on the chapter of glorifying knowledge and teachers in the formation of students' morals at the Al-Muttaqin Islamic Boarding School, Situmang, West Pasaman, 3) To find out the implications of implementing the learning of the Ta'lim Al-Muta'allim book on the chapter of glorifying knowledge and teachers in the formation of students' morals at the Al-Muttaqin Islamic Boarding School, Situmang, West Pasaman. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. Data were collected through interviews with Murobbi, student supervisors, and students, as well as observation and documentation. This approach aims to describe in depth the implementation of learning the Ta'lim Al-Muta'allim book in the formation of students' morals at the Al-Muttaqin Islamic Boarding School, Situmang, West Pasaman. The results of the study indicate that: 1) The learning planning of the Ta'lim Al-Muta'allim book at the Al-Muttaqin Islamic Boarding School has been well-structured, including the determination of clear learning objectives, interactive lecture and discussion methods, and the existence of written rules that serve as guidelines for murobbi and musrif, 2) The implementation of learning runs effectively with the support of collaboration between murobbi and student mentors. Students are encouraged to understand the material theoretically and practice it in everyday life. However, some students still have difficulty connecting theory with practice, especially in internalizing the value of honoring knowledge and teachers, 3) The implications of learning implementation are seen from the improvement of students' morals, such as the growth of discipline, humility, and respect for teachers and peers. In addition, there are positive behavioral changes such as increased learning motivation and student responsibility in Islamic boarding school activities.

Abstract

Cianjur Regency is a regency that is vulnerable to earthquakes and landslides. This is because the Cianjur Regency is crossed by the Cimandiri Fault which is actively moving. Meanwhile, the population growth rate in Cianjur district has increased based on data from Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) for 2020-2021. Population growth causes many problems, especially the problem of space. Built-up land will be higher as the population increases. This study uses the temporal spatial analysis method of land use with variables of land use in 2013 and 2022, Earthquake Vulnerability Index, and Landslide Vulnerability Index. This variable was obtained based on the processing of Landsat 8 Satellite Imagery data in 2013 and 2022 and disaster vulnerability raster data from Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB). The results of this study are a temporal spatial analysis of changes in land use from 2013 - 2022 for earthquake-vulnerable areas and landslide-vulnerable areas. Changes in the use of built-up land to the Landslide Vulnerability Index experienced an increase in area in all categories. In contrast, the Earthquake Vulnerability Index only experienced an increase in the medium and high categories.

Abstract

One of the tropical ecosystems is the mangrove forest, which thrives on protected coastlines such as bays, estuaries, lagoons, and rivers. These are usually found in the intertidal zone. Mangroves are a valuable natural resource because they stabilize coastlines, prevent erosion, retain sediment and nutrients, protect against storms, regulate floods and currents, sequester carbon, maintain water quality, serve as spawning grounds for fish and other marine life, and provide food For plankton. With over 59.8% of the total area of mangroves on the planet, Indonesia has some of the largest mangrove forests in the world. With the case study of Kelabat Bay in Bangka Regency and the Bangka Belitung Islands, this study compares the use of random forest (RF) techniques and support vector machines (SVM) for mapping mangrove forests. Landsat-9 imagery from 2022, taken via the Google Earth Engine (GEE), is the data source used in this study. This study utilizes computer programming and accuracy testing. As a result, RF detected mangrove forests covering an area of approximately 67 ha (OA: 0.932), while SVM detected mangrove forests covering an area of approximately 62 ha (OA: 0.912).

Abstract

Mangroves play a crucial role in maintaining the stability of coastal ecosystems by providing habitats for diverse species, protecting shorelines from erosion, and acting as a carbon sink. The importance of conserving and developing mangrove areas can be effectively monitored using remote sensing data and classification methods, such as Random Forest (RF), ensuring an accurate assessment and management of these vital ecosystems. This research aims to develop and evaluate an RF classification model to produce accurate spatial information on mangrove canopy cover. The research area, Benoa Bay in Bali, Indonesia, is known for its dynamic and ecologically complex mangrove habitats. The inputs for RF classification are bands on Sentinel-2A satellite imagery, Mangrove Vegetation Index (MVI), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Enhanced Mangrove Index (EMI), Modified Normalized Difference Water Index (MNDWI), Normalized Difference Moisture Index (NDMI), and the Normalized Difference Salinity Index (NDSalI), along with topographic variables such as elevation and slope. Model validation was conducted using high-resolution imagery from Google Earth Pro and cross-referenced with the 2024 National Mangrove Map. The classification of coastal land cover is divided into water bodies, mangroves, open land, built-up land, and non-mangrove vegetation, with an overall accuracy of 0.98 and a kappa statistic of 0.98. In contrast, the accuracy of the classification of mangrove canopy cover concerning the national mangrove map produces an overall accuracy of 0.97 and a kappa value of 0.86. These findings demonstrate the robustness of the RF model and its potential for supporting data-driven coastal management practices.

Abstract

Total Quality Management (TQM) has developed into a key managerial approach for enhancing educational quality. Arcaro introduced five core TQM principles in the educational context customer focus, total involvement, measurement, continuous improvement, and commitment which serve as a comprehensive framework for organizational improvement. This study examines the applicability of Arcaro’s TQM principles as a strategic approach for strengthening educational service quality in response to 21st-century demands. This research adopts a library study design by reviewing 35 literature sources, including national and international journal articles, authoritative books, and previous empirical studies on TQM implementation in education. The sources were selected based on relevance to TQM theory, publication within the last ten years (except foundational works), and methodological rigor. Data were analyzed through qualitative content analysis, involving categorization, comparison, and synthesis of key concepts across the selected literature. The findings show that Arcaro’s TQM principles align strongly with contemporary national and global quality standards by emphasizing stakeholder satisfaction, collaborative participation, evidence-based evaluation, continuous refinement, and leadership commitment. These principles consistently emerge as a strategic foundation for improving educational service quality, although implementation may be constrained by factors such as limited institutional resources, bureaucratic structures, and resistance to organizational change. Theoretically, this study contributes by reaffirming Arcaro’s TQM as a relevant framework for modern educational quality management. Practically, it offers guidance for schools and higher education institutions seeking structured strategies to enhance service quality through stakeholder engagement, data-driven practices, and continuous improvement mechanisms.
