Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to determine the effectof think pair share model’s combined whit series picture to telling story ability at fourth grade student in Bunulrejo 01 Elementary School. This research is a experimental research with Post Test Only Design. Research subject includes 63 fourth grade student in Bunulrejo 01 Elementary School. The sampling technique israndom sampling technique. The series picture class is fourth grade students of IV-A. The think pair share model’s class is fourth grade students of IV B. The think pair share model’s combined whit series picture class is IV C. The data obtained were analyzed by using one-ways ANAVA. The results of the research is there is a difference of think pair share model’s combined whit series picture to telling story ability at fourth grade student.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh model think pair share dipadu gambar seri pada kemampuan bercerita siswa kelas IV. Jenis penelitianini adalah eksperimen dengan menggunakan Post Test Only Desain. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV SDN Bunulrejo 01 yang berjumlah 63 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik acak. Kelas IV-A dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan media gambar seri. Kelas IV-B dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran think pair share. Kelas IV-C dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran think pair share dipadu dengan media gambar. Data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan one way ANAVA. Hasil penelitian adalah ada perbedaan model pembelajaran think pair share dipadu dengan media gambar seri terhadap kemampuan bercerita siswa kelas IV.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of semantic mapping strategy on the results of learning to write text reports of student observations with different cognitive styles. This research uses quantitative method with quasi experiment design. Type of design used is nonequivalent factorial control group design 2 x 2. The population of this study are students of class VII SMPN 2 Pare academic year 2016/2017. The sample of research is 80 of the total population of 358 students. Data collection used pretest, posttest, and post-test techniques with semantic mapping strategies, and tests to determine student’s cognitive style. Scores of test results were analyzed using factorial variance analysis according to the design and purpose of the study. The results showed that about 75% of the semantic mapping strategy had an effect on the result of learning to write the text of the result of student observation with different cognitive style. Approximately 25% of semantic mapping strategies have no effect especially on students with cognitive field dependent style.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi pemetaan semantik terhadap hasil belajar menulis teks laporan hasil observasi siswa dengan gaya kognitif yang berbeda. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan rancangan kuasi eksperimen. Jenis desain yang digunakan adalah nonequivalent factorial control grup design 2 x 2. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMPN 2 Pare tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 80 dari keseluruhan populasi 358 siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes yang berupa pretest, postest sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan pembelajaran dengan strategi pemetaan semantik, serta tes untuk mengetahui gaya kognitif siswa. Skor hasil tes dianalisis menggunakan analisis varian faktorial sesuai dengan desain dan tujuan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sekitar 75% strategi pemetaan semantik berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar menulis teks laporan hasil observasi siswa dengan gaya kognitif yang berbeda. Sekitar 25% strategi pemetaan semantik tidak berpengaruh khususnya pada siswa dengan gaya cognitive field dependent.

Abstract

Dalam era globalisasi ini, tuntutan perubahan dalam sistem pendidikan merupakan suatu keniscayaan. Pendidikan konvensional yang hanya berjalan berdasarkan pada pengalaman masa lampau tidak akan mampu menjawab tantangan perubahan yang sangat cepat. Pendidikan harus mampu memberikan pengalaman belajar yang bermakna bagi pelajar. Pengalaman tersebut dapat dicapai apabila sistem pembelajaran berorientasi pada kebutuhan pelajar dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat masa kini dan masa depan. Mekanisme pembelajaran harus dapat membangkitkan gairah belajar dan mendorong pelajar untuk mencari, menemukan, dan mempraktikkan pengalaman belajarnya dalam kehidupan nyata. Pembelajaran harus dibangun secara lebih kreatif dan inovatif untuk menumbuhkan rasa ingin tahu yang tinggi, kepedulian dalam belajar, dan sikap analitis dan kritis pada diri pelajar sehingga mereka dapat menerima dan menerapkan apa yang telah dipelajarinya. Pelajar akan bertindak secara aktif dan proaktif dalam belajar karena mereka sadar belajar dan tumbuh kemauan untuk memenuhi kebutuhannya (Suyitno, 2016).

Abstract

This paper aims at explaining the implementation of RAWAC (Reading and Writing across Curriculum) in teaching essay for college students. Using an action research based integrated with hermeneutic technique, this study was conducted in Kelompok Belajar Mahasiswa (Student Study Club) at Ganesha University of Education, Bali. The result of the study indicates that this model is able to synchronize the excellent aspects of reading-writing and metacognition as those give benefits to the students in terms of strengthening their critical thinking in exploring ideas, their discipline attitude during the process of planning, monitoring, and evaluating concepts, and also strengthening the students’ self-regulated learning in writing essay. Implementing RAWAC improve the students’ ability in writing essays, especially in exploring ideas, organizing the writing, choosing the diction and enhancing their writing technique.

Abstract

Many learning theories and studies on classroom discourse explain that teachers’ speech has an important role in determining student learning success. The teachers’ speech in teaching-learning interactions influences the activity and comfort of students’ learning. This study aimed to describe how the teachers’ speech stimulates students in learning interaction. This study used a qualitative approach to the type of classroom research.  Participants in this study were 4 teachers who taught Indonesian, Mathematics, Science, and English at Mts. Islamiyah. Data of the study were the teachers’ speech and its context of stimulating students in learning interaction. The data collected through classroom observations and recording of teachers’ speech and the context of the speech. By qualitative analysis, this study found that the teachers’ speech at the beginning of learning, in the learning process, and at the end of learning has various types and functions depending on the speech context underlying the speech events in the classroom interaction. The speech context includes students as audiences, speech functions, learning material as speech topics, learning interactions as speech situations. The use of teachers’ speech was a learning strategy conducted by teachers to stimulate students motivated for learning.

Abstract

BIPA (the acronym of Bahasa Indonesia untuk Pelajar Asing) is one of the Indonesian-language learning programs for foreign learners. Understanding entry-level of student competencies are very useful as a starting point for preparing learning according to their learning needs in future lectures. This study aimed to describe how to assess student competence before conducting the lecture to determine their learning needs. This study used a qualitative and quantitative approach conducted in BIPA lectures involving seven lecturers as informants and 159 students as samples. Data were collected through document analysis, interviews, and tests. Qualitative data were used to describe the essential learning materials studied in BIPA lectures. Quantitative data were analyzed using the statistical tool 'Pearson Product Moment to assess entry-level competencies of students before taking courses. The results showed that the entry-level of students were in a low category. The correlation showed that the Grade Point Index (GPI) achieved in the previous lecture did not contribute significantly to student understanding in BIPA lectures because of the different substantial topic of the subjects. The low entry-level test scores reflect the students have not mastered the essential materials for BIPA lectures so they need to study them seriously. These findings can be used as a reference in determining the learning needs of students in the BIPA special program lectures. Therefore, these findings are useful for designing learning and determining policies that can meet the learning needs of students.

Abstract

The textbook "Sahabatku Indonesia" published by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia in 2019 has an important position for foreign students who are studying Indonesian. This book consists of 7 series. The book contains information about practical communication rules and exercises in Indonesian. In the communication training material various discourse units are presented which contain information on Indonesian culture. One aspect of culture that is taught is the moral aspect that accompanies language activities. This study aims to describe the representation and implementation of moral values introduced to foreign students in textbooks. These moral values come from moral values that are unique to the Indonesian nation and also universal morals. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach. The data source for this research is the 7 book series “My Indonesian Friends”. The data is in the form of written verbal units containing moral values and sometimes illustrations are added to accompany the communication exercises. Data were analyzed using content analysis and supported by Appraisal Theory (AT) to see aspects of moral values. This finding illustrated that on "Sahabatku Indonesia" textbook emphasizes inculcating moral values of learners in maintaining harmony and social interactions harmony in their living environment. The moral values contained in the text are as many as 13 moral themes. The implementation in the book can be found in the form of narrative text and picture illustrations. Understanding those moral values made a meaningful contribution to curriculum developers and textbook writers as a basis for consideration in determining their policies.

Abstract

Abstract: Static archives are types of archives that have historical value for the institution that created the archive, and the information contained in the archive supports the sustainable development activities of an institution. Therefore, effective management implementation is needed. Performance management is one of the processes conducted in order to be able to complete the archiving activities efficiently and effectively. This study aims to describe performance management in managing archives during the Covid-19 pandemic. The methodology used in this study is qualitative descriptive. This study is built upon Michael Armstrong’s performance management model to specifically describe the planning to performance evaluation stages. The results show that the performance archive management is carried out by following the rules and performance lines that have been set by adjusting the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic. This can be seen from (1) the planning stage under the virtual implementation processes in accordance to applicable bureaucratic rules and the production of several reference documents, (2) implementation stage where archivists carried out management in a flexi-time manner by referring to the performance plan, (3) performance monitoring that is carried out through the staffing system, and (4) internal evaluation that is done in the archive center unit as well as by the relevant institution Keywords: performance management, static archives, Covid-19 pandemic period Abstrak: Arsip statis merupakan jenis arsip yang memiliki nilai guna kesejarahan bagi lembaga pencipta arsip. Serta informasi yang terkandung dalam suatu arsip dapat menunjang kegiatan pengembangan berkelanjutan. Oleh karena itu, penerapan manajemen yang efektif sangat dibutuhkan. Manajemen kinerja adalah salah satu proses untuk membuat aktivitas diselesaikan secara efisien dan efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan manajemen kinerja dalam pengelolaan arsip statis di masa pandemi covid-19. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah rancangan penelitian kualitatif-deskriptif. Penelitian ini mengusung model manajemen kinerja Michael Armstrong dengan memaparkan tahap perencanaan sampai dengan evaluasi pengelolaan. Serta hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen kinerja pengelolaan arsip statis terlaksana mengikuti aturan dan alur kinerja yang telah ditetapkan dengan menyesuaikan kondisi pandemi Covid-19. Hal ini terlihat melalui (1) tahap perencanaan, dilaksanakan secara virtual dan dilakukan sesuai aturan birokrasi yang berlaku dan menghasilkan beberapa dokumen acuan, (2) pelaksanaan, arsiparis melaksanakan pengelolaan secara flexi-time dengan mengacu pada rencana kinerja, (3) pengawasan dilakukan melalui sistem kepegawaian, dan (4) terdapat evaluasi internal unit kerja pusat arsip dan evaluasi lembaga yang menaungi. Abstract

Abstract: Health news is a source of health information, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, while expository is a form of discourse used in news to provide information to readers. Using both principles, this research was conducted to describe the characteristics of the expository texts in the health news articles. This research used a qualitative approach with a theoretical orientation of discourse analysis. The data in this study are phrases, clauses, and sentences that show the exposition taken from health news presented in the Sindonews.com page. The results showed two findings. First, the structure of news exposition consists of (a) theses which are categorized into theses in the form of proposals, affirmation of facts, and statements; (b) arguments (evidence) in the form of evidence of facts and evidence of opinion; and (c) closing in the form of reaffirmations, recommendations, quotes, highlights or assessments, and conclusions. Second, the pattern of developing news exposition is in the form of a pattern which is categorized into a causal pattern, classification, process, illustration, report, example, and comparison which is categorized into an arrangement of four patterns and two patterns. Keywords: exposition, health news, discourse, online media, structure, pattern of developing Abstrak: Berita kesehatan merupakan salah satu sumber untuk mendapatkan informasi kesehatan, terutama saat masa pandemi covid-19. Eksposisi merupakan bentuk wacana yang digunakan pada berita dalam memberikan informasi pada pembaca. Dengan menggunakan kedua prinsip tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik eksposisi dalam berita kesehatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan orientasi teoritis analisis wacana. Data dalam penelitian ini yakni frasa, klausa, dan kalimat yang menunjukkan eksposisi yang diambil dari berita kesehatan di laman Sindonews.com. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dua temuan. Pertama, struktur isi eksposisi berita kesehatan terdiri atas (a) tesis yang dikategorikan menjadi tesis berupa usulan penulis, penegasan fakta, dan pernyataan ketidakselarasan; (b) argumen (bukti-bukti) berupa bukti fakta dan bukti opini; dan (c) penutup berupa penegasan ulang, rekomendasi, kutipan, sorotan atau penilaian, dan simpulan. Kedua, pola pengembangan eksposisi berita kesehatan berupa pola sederhana yang dikategorikan menjadi pola sebab-akibat, klasifikasi, pertentangan, proses, ilustrasi, laporan, contoh-contoh, dan perbandingan dan kompleks yang dikategorikan menjadi susunan empat pola dan dua pola. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the anatomy, presentation of material for communication needs, and the suitability of the content of the material with SKL BIPA in the book Literasi Komunikasi Berbasis Budaya 1. This study used qualitative research methods with descriptive content research. The results of the research found, namely, (1) regarding the anatomy of the book, the type and size of the book have similarities with textbooks in general, the design of the book has many colors and images, and the layout is in accordance with the provisions of the book; (2) the presentation of the material has aspects with components in the form of dialogue/reading, material topics, and exercises; and (3) the content of the material in each unit is in accordance with SKL BIPA 1 and 2. The content of the material in each unit is in the form of language knowledge, language skills and cultural insight. The conclusions obtained from this study are that this textbook is able to develop students' communication skills and foster cultural knowledge. Keywords: textbooks BIPA, book standardization, content conformity Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis anatomis, penyajian materi kebutuhan komunikasi, dan kesesuaian isi materi buku teks dengan SKL BIPA pada buku Literasi Komunikasi Berbasis Budaya 1. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian konten deskriptif. Hasil penelitian yang ditemukan yaitu, (1) pada ranah anatomis buku, jenis dan ukuran buku memiliki kesamaan dengan buku ajar pada umumnya, desain buku memiliki banyak warna dan gambar, serta tata letak yang sudah sesuai dengan ketentuan buku ajar pada umumnya; (2) sajian materi memiliki aspek menyimak dan berbicara, membaca, serta menulis. Setiap aspek memiliki komponen yang sesuai dengan dialog/bacaan, topik materi, dan latihan; serta (3) isi materi dalam setiap unit-unit sudah sesuai dengan SKL BIPA 1 dan 2. Isi materi dalam setiap unit itu berupa pengetahuan bahasa, keterampilan bahasa dan wawasan budaya. Simpulan yang didapat dari penelitian ini adalah buku ajar Literasi Komunikasi Berbasis Budaya 1 mampu mengembangkan kemampuan komunikasi pelajar serta menumbuhkan pengetahuan budaya.
