Abstract

Purpose: This review aims to synthesize existing literature on Islamic economics in Indonesia from 2014 to 2024 by highlighting key findings, research trends, and practical implications for practitioners. It captures the dynamic development of Islamic economic thought and practice in Indonesia, particularly in areas such as Islamic finance, micro-business development, and economic policies grounded in Islamic values. Methodology: This study adopts a systematic literature review approach to collect and analyze relevant publications on Islamic economics in Indonesia during the 2014-2024 period. Relevant articles, reports, and academic documents were identified through comprehensive searches of academic databases and reputable journals using predefined inclusion criteria to ensure quality and relevance. A qualitative thematic analysis was then applied to code and categorize the literature into key themes, including Islamic finance, micro-business development, and Islamic-based economic policies, in order to identify recurring patterns, trends, and research directions. Results: The review reveals significant growth and diversification in Islamic economics research in Indonesia over the past decade. The literature shows a strong emphasis on the development of Islamic finance institutions, the role of Islamic microfinance in supporting small and micro enterprises, and the increasing integration of Islamic values into national and regional economic policies. The findings also indicate a growing alignment between academic research and practical implementation in the Islamic economic sector. Applications/Originality/Value: This review provides a comprehensive and structured overview of Islamic economics research in Indonesia, offering valuable insights for policymakers, practitioners, and scholars. Its originality lies in systematically mapping a decade of literature to identify dominant themes, practical lessons, and research gaps. The study serves as a reference for future research and supports evidence-based decision-making in the development and implementation of Islamic economic practices in Indonesia.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the implementation of modern digital campaigns in Islamic social finance within the context of Islamic marketing, highlighting their theoretical and practical significance in addressing social and economic challenges. Methodology: A qualitative case study approach was employed, focusing on KEMENSOS RI as a representative Islamic social finance institution. Data were collected using a netnographic method by analyzing 102 social media posts from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. The analysis was conducted using NVivo 12 Plus to code and identify dominant themes and campaign strategies. Results: The findings demonstrate that KEMENSOS RI implements digital Islamic social finance campaigns through integrated communication strategies. Five main parent nodes were identified: (1) live assistance, (2) online news dissemination, (3) roadshows, (4) workshops, and (5) training programs. These approaches reflect a structured digital engagement model aimed at increasing public awareness and participation. The results also indicate a growing public interest in Islamic social finance as an effective instrument for addressing poverty, promoting economic growth, and strengthening social welfare, particularly in Muslim-majority countries. Applications/Originality/Value :This study provides original empirical evidence on digital Islamic social finance campaigns, an area that remains limited in Islamic marketing research. The findings offer practical insights for policymakers and practitioners in designing effective digital-based social finance strategies, while also contributing to the theoretical understanding of the role of Islamic social finance in sustainable social and economic development.

Abstract

This study aims to map the developments, trends, and directions of research in the field of Sustainable Finance through a bibliometric approach to scientific publications indexed in the Scopus database in the period 2002–2025. The increasing global attention to sustainability issues and the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects in the financial system make this study important to understand the dynamics and structure of Sustainable Finance research scientifically. Bibliometric analysis was carried out using VOSviewer and Microsoft Excel on bibliographic data which included the number of publications per year, geographical distribution, institutional affiliation, author collaboration, journal sources, and thematic mapping based on keywords. The results of the analysis show a significant increase in the number of Sustainable Finance research publications since 2015, with the peak of the publication trend occurring in the period 2018–2025. Geographically, Malaysia and Indonesia are recorded as the countries with the highest publication contributions. Institutionally, International Islamic University Malaysia was the most prolific affiliate, while authors such as Hassan, M.K. and Zain, N.R.M. emerged as major contributors. In addition, thematic mapping reveals that Islamic finance, sustainable finance, ethical investment, and circular economy are the dominant themes in the Sustainable Finance research landscape. This research makes an original contribution by presenting a comprehensive overview of the structure, collaboration patterns, and thematic development of Sustainable Finance research in the long term. The findings of this research can be used by researchers as a basis for identifying research gaps and future research directions, as well as by policymakers and practitioners as a reference in formulating sustainable financial strategies and policies based on scientific evidence.

Abstract

This study explores the development and thematic structure of research on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Islamic education using a bibliometric approach. A total of 234 English-language journal articles indexed in Scopus between 2010 and 2025 were analyzed using a focused keyword strategy combining “Islamic Education” and “Artificial Intelligence.” Bibliometric indicators and visualization techniques were employed to examine publication trends, influential contributors, and thematic patterns. The findings reveal a rapid growth of publications since 2022, with research output dominated by Indonesia and Malaysia. The thematic analysis shows that AI related technological themes occupy a central position, while Islamic educational ethics, epistemology, and institutional dimensions remain marginal. This indicates that AI is largely treated as an instrumental tool rather than a transformative force within Islamic education. The study highlights the need for future research to integrate AI development with the philosophical, ethical, and spiritual foundations of Islamic education.
