Abstract

The grammatical linguistic symbols (GLS) are used in teaching yellow book (kitab kuning /traditional Islamic texts) and Arabic grammar in traditional Islamic boarding schools using regional languages such as Javanese and Sundanese, and are beginning to be adopted in the Indonesian language. This study aims to explore their usage practices in the latter language while examining their benefits, limitations, and impacts. This research novelty lies in its focus on the Indonesian language, considering that previous studies on GLS primarily focused on regional languages. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative, utilizing observation, interviews, and tests as instruments at Pondok Tahfidz Zawiyah Darul Hayat. The observational and interview data are analyzed using Saussure's semiotics theory. The test results are used to determine the impact of using GLS. This study investigates the use of GLS in Indonesian and examines its advantages, drawbacks, and effects. The results show that GLS is useful for comprehending yellow book grammatical functions, particularly those related to syntax, fa'idah, and word abbreviations. Notwithstanding its benefits, GLS isn't universally applicable and might cause mistakes, particularly when choosing symbols. Test results indicate that GLS helps with grammatical position determination. In an effort to address these limitations, the research recommends the creation of a standardized guidebook explaining the use of GLS and the addition of new symbols to support uncovered grammatical functions. This study makes a substantial contribution to the preservation of local knowledge in the context of Indonesian Islamic boarding schools, especially with regard to Arabic grammar teaching. By examining this aspect, the study enriches understanding not only of language dynamics but also of cultural preservation and educational practices in Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan stilistika ayat shalat di dalam al-Qurʼan ditinjau dari bentuk kata dan fungsinya dalam kalimat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analisis pada konstruksi kata dan susunan kalimatnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kata “shalatˮ di dalam al-Qurʼan diungkapkan dalam beragam kata dan kalimat yang berbeda fungsi dan maknanya. Mayoritas kedudukan iʻrâb-nya adalah mafʻûl bih (objek), sedangkan gaya bahasanya meggunakan uslub amr (20 ayat), syarat (6 ayat), nida (2 ayat), mutsbat (29 ayat), manfi (4 ayat), istitsna, taukid, dan nahi. Keragaman gaya bahasa ini mengandung keindahan sastra, keserasian makna, kekayaan bahasa, dan pengaruh kuat yang memudahkan pemahaman maknanya. DOI: 10.15408/a.v1i1.1134

Abstract

This research aims to determine the structural analysis of the tasybih language style in the verses of the Al-Qur'an. With a literature study approach, the qualitative method collects data by understanding and studying theories from various relevant literature sources. The main data source in this research is the Al-Qur'an, while additional data sources were obtained from various journals and research articles about Tasybih. Next, data from these research sources will be classified to find several Qur'an verses containing Tasybih. After the data from the research source is presented, the final step is to verify or conclude from the data that has been collected. At this stage, analysis is carried out to identify Koran verses containing Tasybih. The research results show that although Bayan Science has several discussion branches, Tasybih has its function and characteristics. There are similarities in the structure of the 7 Tasybih verses in the Al-Qur'an studied: they are all in the form of mujmal tasybih. It is hoped that this research can provide a deeper understanding of Tasybih and contribute to the study of Arabic linguistics and literature in general.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the low mastery of Arabic vocabulary in MTsN I Makassar students. This study aims to improve the skill of Arabic vocabulary through a role-playing learning method in class VII students of MTsN I Makassar. This research uses qualitative methods with a type of classroom action research consisting of four stages: action planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection, carried out in two cycles. The results showed: (1) Arabic language learning through the role playing method carried out through nine stages starting from providing motivation to students, providing voluntary opportunities to become actors, arranging the stages of the cast, preparing observers, carrying out their respective roles, discussion and evaluation, then re-enactment, followed by the second stage of evaluation, and finally helping students to gain valuable experience in their lives through interactional activities with their friends; (2) Students' Arabic vocabulary after using the role playing learning method showed a score in the average category of sufficient in first cycle with an average score of 71.7 and an excellent average category in second cycle with an average score of 80.5 which was marked by an increase in the number of vocabulary mastered and their pronunciation during role playing from first cycle to second; (3) The increase in students' vocabulary through the application of the role playing method can be seen in the increase in the assessment category from first cycle by obtaining an average score of 71.7 with a sufficient category, the percentage of completeness reached 52.5% with a total of 21 students. The implementation of the second cycle has an average score of 80.5 with a good category; the percentage of completeness is 80.5%, with a total of 35 students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan dan menganalisis perbedaan pendapat dua aliran Nahwu: Basrah dan Kufah dalam pembahasan pengaruh Inna dan saudara-saudaranya terhadap khabarnya dalam kitab Al-Inshâf fî Masâil Al-Khilâf. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dan desain penelitian berupa analisis konten. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aliran Kufah berpendapat bahwa Inna dan saudara-saudaranya tidak merafa’kan khabarnya. Sementara itu ulama Basrah mengatakan Inna dan saudara-saudaranya merafa’kan khabarnya. Aliran Basrah mengemukakan sejumlah hujah dan argumen yang kuat dan bisa mematahkan pendapat aliran Kufah. Perbedaan dua aliran ini berpengaruh kepada kaidah dalam kitab-kitab Nahwu yang banyak dipelajari, di antaranya kitab Matn al-Ājurrūmīyah, dan kitab Alfiyah Ibn Malik. Meskipun latar belakang Ibn Ājurrūm bermazhab Kufah yang terlihat dari berbagai kaidah dan istilah Nahwu yang berkiblat pada aliran Kufah, tapi untuk penjelasan ‘Amil Rafa’ pada khabar Inna Ibn Ājurrūm mengikuti pendapat ulama Basrah. Begitu pula Ibn Malik yang tidak berpihak ke salah satu dari dua aliran ini, namun ternyata dalam permasalahan ini Ibn Malik lebih memilih pendapat aliran Basrah. This research aims to explain and analyze the differences of opinion between the two Nahwu schools, Basrah and Kufah, in discussing the influence of "Inna" and its relatives on the "khabar" in Al-Inshâf fî Masâil Al-Khilâf. This is a literature review using qualitative method and research design in the form of content analysis. The results of the study show that the Kufah school believes that "Inna" and its relatives do not affect the "khabar," while the Basrah scholars say that "Inna" and its relatives do affect the "khabar." The Basrah school presents several strong arguments that can refute the opinion of the Kufah school. This difference between the two schools has an impact on the principles in the Nahwu books that are widely studied, such as Matn al-Ajurrumiyyah and Alfiyah Ibn Malik. Although Ibn Ajurrum is from the Kufah school as seen from various Nahwu principles and terms that are oriented towards the Kufah school, for the explanation of "Amil Rafa'" on the "khabar Inna," Ibn Ajurrum follows the opinion of the Basrah scholars. Similarly, Ibn Malik, who is neutral between the two schools, actually prefers the opinion of the Basrah school in this matter.

Abstract

Kitab Al-Muyassar Fii 'Ilmi Al-Nahwi karya Aceng Zakaria memiliki kekhasan serta karakteristik yang kuat dalam konten materinya serta sering digunakan sebagai referensi dalam pembelajaran di beberapa universitas serta Pondok Pesantren. Serta madzhab-madzhab nahwu juga berperan dalam kitab Al-Muyassar Fii 'Ilmi Al-Nahwii, salah satunya ialah Madzhab Bashrah. Maka penelitian ini menginvestigasi peran Madzhab Bashrah dalam pengembangan ilmu Nahwu melalui kitab Al-Muyassar karya Aceng Zakaria. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif studi kepustakaan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa banyaknya penggunaan istilah madzhab Bashrah dalam kitab tersebut menunjukkan dominasi Madzhab Bashrah dalam isi kitab tersebut. Beberapa contoh penggunaan istilah tersebut antara lain: penggunaan istilah naib al-fail untuk menunjukkan kata benda yang menggantikan kedudukan pelaku, penggunaan istilah dzaraf serta maf’ul fiih untuk menunjukkan keterangan baik tempat maupunpun waktu, penggunaan istilah raf’u, nashbu, jarru, serta jazmu pada amil-amil I’rob, menurut pansertagan ulama Mazhab Bashrah, tanda-tanda isim terletak pada kemunculan alif serta lam, yang menjadi indikator penting dalam pengidentifikasian isim penggunaan istilah la nafiyah lil jinsi. The book "Al-Muyassar Fii 'Ilmi Al-Nahwi" by Aceng Zakaria possesses distinctiveness and strong characteristics in its content material, and it is frequently used as a reference in learning at several universities and Islamic boarding schools. Among the various schools of Arabic grammar (nahw), the Basrah School also plays a significant role in the book "Al-Muyassar Fii 'Ilmi Al-Nahwi" authored by Aceng Zakaria. Therefore, this research investigates the role of the Basrah School in the development of Nahw science through Aceng Zakaria's book "Al-Muyassar." This study employs a qualitative method of literature review. The research findings indicate that the extensive usage of Basrah School terminology in the book demonstrates the dominance of the Basrah School within its content. Several examples of such terminology usage include: (1) the use of the term "naib al-fail" to denote a noun that replaces the position of the doer, (2) the use of the terms "dzaraf" and "maf’ul fiih" to indicate both place and time specifications, (3) the use of the terms "raf’u," "nashbu," "jarru," and "jazmu" in the amil-amil I'rob, (4) according to the views of Basrah School scholars, the signs of isim (noun) are found in the occurrence of alif and lam, which serve as important indicators in identifying nouns, and (5) the use of the term "la nafiyah lil jinsi”.

Abstract

Untuk memahami Al-Quran terdapat beberapa metode yang bisa digunakan, salah satunya adalah yang dianjurkan oleh Toshihiko Izutsu: metode semantik. Salah satu persoalan yang dibahas dengan metode semantik Tashihiko adalah bagaimana menginterpretasikan konsep Al-Quran tentang Nasihat dan wasiat melalui penggunaan semantik. Langkah yang akan digunakan meliputi pencarian makna dasar dan relasional yang kemudian mencari worldview dalam hal ini bagaimana Al-Quran menggunakan dua kata tersebut. Kata Nasihat beserta derivasi nya di sebutkan sebanyak 12 kali, sedangkan kata wasiat dan derivasinya disebutkan sebanyaak 26 kali dalam Al-Quran. Kata Nasihat yang diartikan sebagai kalimat yang mengungkapkan sebuah frasa berupa ajakan kepada orang yang diNasihati dan wasiat yang diartikan sebagai amanat dan pesan yang disambungkan dari pewasiat kepada penerima wasiat memiliki kedekatan makna. There are several methods for understanding Al-Quran, one of which is encouraged bystoshihikosizutsu: semantics methods. Onesof the issues discussed bystashihiko'sssemantic method of semantics is how to interpret Al-Quran concepts of Nasihat and Wasiat the use of semantics. The move would involve a basic and relational search for worldview in this case how the Al-Quran uses the two words. The words of counselsswith its derivatives are 12 times mentioned, while the wills and derivatives are mentioned 26 timessin the Al-Quran. Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of Arabic morphosemantic analysis on digital natives who are not native Arabic speakers. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with percentage-based analysis. Data were collected through an open-ended multiple-choice test that was structured based on morphosemantic indicators. The validity of the test instrument has been confirmed by Arabic morphosemantics experts. The study involved 34 digital native Arabic students, selected through a purposive sampling technique. The results show that the morphosemantic analysis ability of digital native non-Arabic speakers is generally considered insufficient, with a percentage of 49.2%. The ability in the aspects of word derivation and shighat is classified as moderate with a percentage of 67.6% and 65.7% respectively, while the ability in the aspects of affixes, word roots, semantic aspects, and wazan is categorized as "very poor" with a percentage of 44.7%, 42.1%, 37.2%, and 36.4% respectively. This study concludes that the morphosemantic analysis ability of digital native non-Arabic speakers is still at a deficient level, and effective strategies need to be developed to improve it Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan analisis morfosemantik bahasa Arab pada digital native yang bukan penutur asli Arab. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan analisis berbasis persentase. Data dikumpulkan melalui uji pilihan ganda terbuka yang disusun berdasarkan indikator morfosemantik. Validitas instrumen uji telah dikonfirmasi oleh ahli morfosemantik bahasa Arab. Penelitian melibatkan 34 mahasiswa bahasa Arab digital native, dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan analisis morfosemantik digital native non penutur Arab secara umum tergolong kurang, dengan persentase 49.2%. Kemampuan dalam aspek derivasi kata dan shighat diklasifikasikan sebagai sedang dengan persentase masing-masing 67.6% dan 65.7%, sementara kemampuan dalam aspek imbuhan, akar kata, aspek semantik, dan wazan dikategorikan sebagai “sangat kurang” dengan persentase masing-masing 44.7%, 42.1%, 37.2%, dan 36.4%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa kemampuan analisis morfosemantik digital native non penutur Arab masih memiliki tingkat yang kurang, dan strategi yang efektif perlu dikembangkan untuk meningkatkannya.

Abstract

Learning Arabic vocabulary (mufradāt) often faces challenges in achieving effectiveness, particularly in motivating students to actively participate and deeply understand the material. Many conventional methods have significantly failed to improve students' listening and speaking skills. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using the Aural-Oral Approach in teaching Arabic vocabulary (mufradāt). The Aural-Oral Approach, which emphasizes intensive listening and speaking skills, can enhance students' vocabulary acquisition in Arabic. This study was conducted at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah (MDT) Ar-Rahman Bogor using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The research sample consisted of 60 students divided into two groups: the experimental group using the Aural-Oral Approach and the control group using conventional methods. Data were collected through interviews and vocabulary tests before and after the intervention. The results of the data analysis showed a significant increase in Arabic vocabulary skills in the experimental group compared to the control group. This study's novelty lies in applying the Aural-Oral Approach in the context of Arabic language learning at the MDT level, which has not been extensively explored before. These findings indicate that the Aural-Oral Approach effectively improves Arabic vocabulary mastery. Therefore, it is recommended that this method be more widely implemented in Arabic language teaching to maximize student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Educational evaluation is an important aspect, because with educational evaluation, it can be known to what extent the educational process has been achieved, it can also determine the next step regarding what is to be done. In the realm of evaluation, analyzing the quality of HOTS-based tests is still rarely to be done as was the case in Lembang MTs Al-Musyawarah. Arabic Language Teachers have not analyzed the quality of Arabic question items in the final examination (UAS). This research aims to determine the quality of hots-based instruments in final examination (UAS) questions of Arabic that are have not yet know. The type of research that used in this research is descriptive research, and 30 people as the sample of data.  The results of this research show that the validity of the test be include high, and high reliability, 25 questions are not fit with the criteria for multiple choice writing, the level of difficulty not yet proporsional, distinguishing power enough, and effectiveness of deceivers are enough categories, and all questions include as Lots category with C1 numbers as much as 2 items, 2 items for C2, and C3 as much as 36 items of questions.
