Abstract

Problematika paling mendasar yang dihadapi lembaga pendidikan Islam saat ini adalah persoalan mutu. Sekolah-sekolah Islam masih mengalami kendala untuk tampil sebagai sekolah berkualitas dan berkiprah secara optimal sehingga dapat memberikan harapan kepada masyarakat. Permasalahan ini dirasakan sangat kompleks, mulai dari masalah sistem penyelenggaraan sekolah, penataan kurikulum, lemahnya kompetensi tenaga pengajar, ketersediaan sarana dan media pendidikan sampai kepada masalah metodologi pembelajaran. Dampak dari kurang baiknya manajemen yang ada, akhirnya sekolah Islam tidak mampu melahirkan lulusan (output) yang handal dan berkualitas seperti apa yang diharapkan, konsekuensinya ditinggalkan atas nama “kualitas”, masyarakat lebih percaya mengantarkan putra dan putrinya ke sekolah-sekolah negeri yang favorit atau ke sekolah yang berlabel non-muslim. Seiring berjalannya waktu, pada awal tahun 1990-an, sebagian sekolah-sekolah Islam mulai menyatakan dirinya secara formal atau sebaliknya diakui oleh banyak kaum muslim  sebagai “sekolah unggul” atau “sekolah Islam unggulan”. Hadirnya sekolah Islam unggulan memberikan paradigma baru dalam sejarah pendidikan Islam di tanah air. Kiprahnya mulai mengubah citra pendidikan Islam yang awalnya hanya berorientasi kepada kepentingan ukhrawi, atau pada penguasaan ilmu-ilmu keislaman semata, kini mulai menyentuh aspek duniawi dan mulai memposisikan bidang sains dan teknologi  pada tataran yang strategis. Tulisan ini merupakan upaya menggambarkan salah satu fenomena yang muncul secara cepat dari proses islamisasi pada lembaga pendidikan Islam tingkat dasar dan menengah yang kemudian disebut sekolah Islam unggulan atau sekolah elit Muslim.

Abstract

This paper aims to uncover and review Islamic civilization and thought during the Ottoman period. The typeof this research is using a qualitative descriptive approach, namely the author describes what is contained in the history civilization and Islamic thought during the Ottoman Turkey, as well as the progress they have made by referring to or utilizing various natural methods. The type of research used is literature review.  Researchers only utilizelibrary resources by carrying out reading, processing, and recording research materials. Only collect a few book references needed in research without going into the field. The results of this study are (1) there are several civilizations, namely the field of architectural art, the field of literature and prose, and one in the field of thought, namely wahdatul manifestation pioneered by Ibn ‘Arabi, (2) the progress and decline of the Ottoman Turkey

Abstract

Abstract: The Intellectual Tradition of Mandailing Ulama in East Sumatra: Zainal Arifin Abbas, 1912-1979. This study examines the biography, works and contributions of Zainal Arifin Abbas in East Sumatra. The intellectual activity of Zainal Arifin Abbas’s in East Sumatra is influenced by parents, teachers, colleagues and those around him. This study examines the biography and contribution of Zainal Arifin Abbas in tradition and intellectual dynamics in East Sumatra. Applying a sociological-historical method, this study establishes that Zainal Arifin Abbas have indeed contributed very significantly in the field of education. Through his personal example, he managed to become a wise educator, initiator of the founding of the modern madrasa, and at the same time a prolific writer. He always showed enthusiasm in studying, integrating knowledge, glorifying teachers, and always giving an understanding of the urgency of religious education to the community. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini mengkaji biografi dan kiprah intelektual Syekh Abdul Halim Hasan di Sumatera Timur. Keberlangsungan tradisi intelektual di Sumatera Timur dipengaruhi, salah satunya, oleh kemunculan ulama-ulama di kawasan ini. Sebagian mereka berasal dari etnis Melayu, dan tidak sedikit dari mereka merupakan ulama yang berasal dari etnis Mandailing yang merantau dari kawasan Tapanuli ke Sumatera Timur. Studi ini mengkaji bagaimana peran Syekh Abdul Halim Hasan yang berasal dari etnis Mandailing dalam mengembangkan tradisi intelektual Islam di Sumatera Timur. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan sosiologis-historis, studi ini mengajukan temuan bahwa Syekh Abdul Halim Hasan memberikan kontribusi bagi penguatan tradisi intelektual Islam di Sumatera Timur. Ia tidak saja menghasilkan karya akademik dalam berbagai bidang keislaman, tetapi juga mampu melahirkan ulama berbakat selain turut memperjuangkan dan mempertahankan kemerdekaan di tanah kelahirannya.     Abstract: Syekh Abdul Halim Hasan, 1901-1969: The Roots of Intellectual Tradition of East Sumatra in Early 20th Centuries. This study examines the biography and intellectual work of Syekh Abdul Halim Hasan in East Sumatra. The continuation of intellectual traditions in East Sumatra is influenced, among others, by the emergence of scholars in the region. Some of these scholars were local Malays; but a few of them were from Mandailing ethnic who had migrated from South Tapanuli. This study examines the role of Syekh Abdul Halim Hasan, a migrating scholar from Mandailing, in developing Islamic intellectual traditions in East Sumatra. Using a sociological-historical approach, this study proposes the findings that Syekh Abdul Halim Hasan had indeed contributed significantly in strengthening Islamic intellectual traditions of the region. He authored academic works in various fields of Islam, trained younger talented scholars, and also involved in independence struggle in his homeland. Kata Kunci: Mandailing, Melayu, Sumatera Timur, Syekh Abdul Halim Hasan

Abstract

The counselor's knowledge competence includes knowledge of What is a counselor's supervisor, the requirements for a counselor's supervisor, the counselor's principal duties, the counselor's supervisory function, and the right and authority of a counselor's supervisor. Personality competence is the ability, skill and skill that a person displays. Foker states that "the personality competencies possessed by counselors are spirited educators, open, able to develop themselves and have the integrity of personality". The personality competencies that the counselor must possess are open-minded educators, able to develop themselves and have personality integrity. Counselors must have an open mind and be able to control themselves. The personality of the counselor involves things like value, work spirit, nature or characteristics, and behavior. Professionalism of a teacher is a necessity in realizing a knowledge-based school, which is an understanding of learning, curriculum, and human development including learning styles. Professional counselors provide services in the form of counseling (advocacy) coordination, collaborate and provide consultation services that can create equal opportunities in achieving opportunities and success for the counselee based on the principles of profesionaitas.Keyword: Competence, counsel teacher, global

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuanuntuk memberikan gambaran yang lengkap dan tepat terkait dengan kondisi keagamaan, sosial, politik, dan intelektual yang melatarlakangi berdirinya Jam‘iyah Mahmudiyah Li Thalibil Khairiyah Tanjung Pura Langkat. Temuan penelitian menginformasikan bahwa: pertama, Jam‘iyah Mahmudiyah Li Thalibil Khairiyah Tanjung Pura Langkat lahir pada 22 Muharram 1330/31 Desember 1912 di Sumatera Timur atas inisiatif Sultan Langkat bersama ulama dan masyarakat. Kedua, Ada beberapa faktor yang melatarbelakangi berdirinya Jam‘iyah Mahmudiyah Li Thalibil Khairiyah, yaitu: faktor keagamaan, Jam‘iyah Mahmudiyah didirikan dengan tujuan untuk mensosialisasikan ideologi yang sesuai dengan ajaran Islam dan sesuai dengan yang dianut oleh Sultan Langkat. Faktor sosial, Jam‘iyah Mahmudiyah didirikan dengan tujuan untuk melegitimasi kedudukan Sultan Langkat. Faktor politik, agar Sultan mendapat dukungan dari masyarakat dan faktanya lembaga ini dimanfaatkan secara sangat baik oleh Sultan Langkat dalam navigasi politiknya. Faktor intelektual, agar masyarakat sejahtera melalui pendidikan yang diberikan oleh Sultan Langkat.

Abstract

Madrasah is an institution under the auspices of the Ministry of Religion. The existence of madrasas is one of the saviours in advancing education in Indonesia, especially for madrasa education in North Sumatra. Madrasas are also formal educational institutions with a curriculum like public schools, but madrasas have particular advantages: Islamic religious subjects are studied in more detail than public schools. Various challenges have become a long process from ancient times to the reformation period felt by the ministry of religion and society in generating madrasa progress. Therefore, this article aims to determine the dynamics of madrasas in North Sumatra. In this article, using a qualitative method, the type of case study method is exploring a case about a particular matter by involving gathering information from various related sources, searching related journal literature and interviews with multiple sources of information such as school principals, communities and students within the scope of madrasas. That way, the desired information will be obtained quickly and directed as aimed. The research was used to collect data and information regarding related problems as determined. This article shows that the development of madrasas in North Sumatra has made a lot of progress from time to time, such as the implementation of plus skills madrasas, adiwiyata madrasas and IT-based madrasas. With various superior programs owned by madrasas, the development of madrasas will develop and progress.

Abstract

The diversity of society is the wealth of the Indonesian nation, as well as efforts to moderate this diversity as a form of practicing the values ​​of the precepts of Indonesian unity, including informal education (schools/madrasah). This article aims to describe the role of IRE (Islamic Religious Education) teachers in shaping students' attitudes toward religious moderation at SMK Swasta Teladan 1 North Sumatra. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive study method. The research data were obtained using observation, interview, and document studies. Furthermore, data analysis uses reduction techniques (information/data sorting), data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Finally, the research data was declared valid after the triangulation technique test. The results of this study indicate that teachers (educators) act as conservators, innovators, transformers, and organizers in shaping students' religious moderation attitudes in schools. Through this research, it is hoped that it can add to the scientific treasures and become the concept of building religious moderation in schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kompetensi profesional guru pendidikan Agama Islam, menganalisis cara sekolah dalam mengevaluasi kompetensi profesional guru pendidikan Agama Islam, dan menganalisis upaya sekolah dalam meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru pendidikan Agama Islam di SMK Tritech Informatika Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif, teknik dalam mengumpulkan data penelitian menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil temuan penelitian ini yaitu: 1) pada kompetensi profesional guru pendidikan agama Islam dapat menguasai materi, struktur, konsep dan ilmu-ilmu pembelajaran pendidikan agama Islam, 2) sekolah mampu mengevaluasi kompetensi profesional guru PAI dalam menguasai standar kompetensi mata pelajaran yang di ampuh. 3) upaya yang dilakukan sekolah untuk meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru pendidikan agama Islam di SMK Tritech Informatika Medan dapat dengan memanfaatkan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi dalam membantu meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru pendidikan agama Islam.

Abstract

Research was conducted to provide a description of the character construction of students through the habituation of dhuha prayers at MIS Terpadu Mutiara Hikmah Hessa Perlompongan. The research was conducted using qualitative methods conducted. The collection of information and data was carried out by interviewing techniques with Mr. Suyanto, S.Ag as the Head of Madrasah as the main source, Mrs. Martiya as the guardian of class 6-A, Mrs. Nisa as the 2-A class guardian and also Mrs. Wati as the office staff. Then observation and documentation is taken where the student is the subject. The data analysis technique used goes through three stages: data reduction, data display and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data is tested through engineering triangulation and source triangulation. The results of the research obtained that through the habituation of dhuha prayer at MIS Terpadu Mutiara Hikmah, there are five characters formed in students, namely: (1) Religious; (2) Discipline; (3) On Time; (4) Responsibility; And (5) Honestly. The character of discipline becomes the most prominent character because students are able to manage the time when taking wudhu, preparing prayer equipment to order themselves so that they can perform dhuha prayers immediately and do not interfere with study time later. While on the character of responsibility is shown by the class leader and the imam of prayer. As the leader, the class leader directs his friends not to pray, and as an imam order the shaf and ensure the safe and orderly running of dhuha prayers.
