Abstract

Kanker paru merupakan masalah kesehatan global yang serius yang ditandai dengan tingginya angka kejadian dan kematian. Teori gejala tidak menyenangkan berfokus pada penilaian, pemahaman faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi, dan pengelolaan gejala tidak menyenangkan yang kompleks dan saling terkait termasuk gejala psikologis seperti stres, kecemasan, dan depresi dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kinerja dan kemampuan beraktivitas pasien kanker paru. Tujuan: Untuk memberikan gambaran pelaksanaan asuhan keperawatan pada pasien kanker paru yang mengalami distres psikologis dengan pendekatan teori TOUS. Metode: Desain studi kasus melalui pendekatan asuhan keperawatan dengan menerapkan Teori Gejala Tidak Menyenangkan. Asuhan keperawatan onkologi yang diberikan pada sepuluh kasus diberikan di ruang rawat inap dan ruang rawat jalan Pusat Kanker Nasional Rumah Sakit Kanker Dharmais yang dilakukan selama tujuh hari pada bulan April hingga awal Mei 2025. Terdapat sepuluh kasus kanker paru yang dikonfirmasi mengalami tekanan psikologis seperti stres, cemas dan depresi. Hasil: Proses keperawatan pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar pasien kanker paru yang mengalami distress psikologis dan gejala yang dialami mengalami penurunan. Dari intervensi tersebut, pasien mengalami peningkatan fokus, lebih mandiri dalam melakukan aktivitas dan penurunan stres, cemas dan depresi.

Abstract

Young women with breast cancer experience complex psychosocial challenges resulting from physical, emotional, and social changes during treatment, which significantly affect their quality of life (QoL). Objective to identify and analyze psychosocial aspects influencing the quality of life among young women with breast cancer. This systematic review followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Literature searches were conducted across five databases (PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scopus, Sage Journals, and Taylor & Francis) for studies published between 2015 and 2025. Inclusion criteria included young women (≤40 years) diagnosed with breast cancer, using quantitative observational designs (cross-sectional or prospective cohort). A total of 11 eligible studies from 5761 articles were included and analyzed narratively. Five major themes influencing QoL were identified: (1) psychological distress (anxiety, depression, and fear of cancer recurrence); (2) sexual dysfunction and negative body image; (3) reproductive and fertility concerns; (4) social support and partner relationships; and (5) long-term QoL decline up to five years post-diagnosis, which is improved with strong social support and adaptive coping strategies. Psychosocial factors have a significant impact on the quality of life of young women with breast cancer. A holistic nursing approach that integrates psychological, social, and family support is essential to enhance emotional well-being and improve the long-term quality of life of these patients.

Abstract

Cancer-related fatigue is one of the most frequent symptoms and has a significant impact on the quality of life of cancer patients. Accurate fatigue measurements require instruments that are valid and reliable, and appropriate to the cultural and linguistic context. Therefore, it is necessary to test the validity of the construct and reliability of the Indonesian version of the Cancer Fatigue Scale (CFS) before it is widely used. This study aims to test the validity of the construct and reliability of the Indonesian version of the Cancer Fatigue Scale (CFS) instrument in measuring fatigue in cancer patients. This study is an analytical descriptive research using a Cross Sectional design. This research was conducted at Darmais Cancer Hospital (RSKD). The number of samples was 220 people, with a sampling technique, namely purposive sampling. The instrument used in this study was the Cancer Fatigue Scale (CFS) as the core questionnaire. The data was analaysed to test realibility and validity of instruments CFS.   The results showed that all Indonesian version of CFS items had a total item–correlation value above the minimum acceptable limit (r > 0.30), indicating adequate construct validity. The reliability test showed Cronbach's alpha value of 0.824, which indicated good internal consistency. The Indonesian version of the Cancer Fatigue Scale has been proven to have good construct validity and reliability, making it suitable for use as an instrument for measuring fatigue in cancer patients in oncology nursing research and practice.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia is currently facing a triple disease burden, including a rise in chronic illnesses such as cancer, which significantly impacts patients' quality of life. Chemotherapy affects not only physical health but also psychological, social, and spiritual well-being. Factors such as self-efficacy, social support, and economic status are believed to strongly influence the quality of life among cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Purpose: To examine the effects of self-efficacy, social support, and economic conditions on the quality of life of cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Method: A systematic review was conducted by searching articles published between 2015 and 2025 across PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Scopus using relevant keywords. Studies included randomized controlled trials, cohorts, case-control, and quasi-experimental designs that explored the relationship between the selected variables and patient quality of life. Ten articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed. Results: From a total of 453,025 articles identified, only 10 met the eligibility criteria. Findings consistently indicate that higher self-efficacy, strong social support, and stable economic conditions are positively correlated with improved quality of life in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Conclusion: Enhancing self-efficacy, providing adequate social support, and addressing economic challenges can significantly improve cancer patients’ quality of life. A holistic, integrated approach that includes psychosocial and spiritual care is essential. Nurses and healthcare professionals play a crucial role in delivering these interventions, supported by appropriate policies and education to strengthen global cancer care systems.

Abstract

Background: A cancer diagnosis often has a significant impact on patients’ psychological aspects, particularly on self-acceptance. Purpose: To identify and summarize various factors influencing self-acceptance in cancer patients. Method: The selection process followed the PRISMA guidelines. Literature searches were conducted in PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases for studies published between 2010 and 2025, including English-language articles with quantitative study designs (cross-sectional, cohort, case-control, or case report), involving cancer patients aged ≥18 years. Results: Nine studies met the criteria for further analysis. Factors influencing self-acceptance included sociodemographic factors (age, gender, education, income, residence, marital status, employment status, social support, educational level, economic status), disease-related factors (TNM stage, metastasis status, disease duration), and psychosocial factors (social support, meaning-making, fear of recurrence). Conclusion: Self-acceptance in cancer patients is influenced by sociodemographic, disease-related, and psychosocial factors. These findings are important for developing more targeted psychosocial interventions to improve the well-being of cancer patients.

Abstract

Background: The management of dyspnea in cancer patients still faces various challenges. Non-pharmacological interventions are increasingly recognized as effective, potentially cost-effective, and effective approaches to managing this symptom. Purpose: To identify, evaluate, and analyze evidence regarding the effectiveness of non-pharmacological interventions in managing dyspnea in cancer patients. Method: This systematic review followed PRISMA guidelines and conducted a literature search across five databases (Sage Journals, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Springerlink, and Google Scholar). Inclusion criteria included English-language articles published between 2015 and 2025, with a randomized controlled trial (RCT) or cohort study design. From 59,225 articles identified, 11 studies met the inclusion criteria for analysis. Results: A total of 1,369 cancer patients were analyzed across 10 RCTs and one cohort study. Various non-pharmacological interventions proven effective in managing dyspnea include Tai Chi, aerobic exercise, Respiratory Distress Symptom Intervention (RDSI), Inspiratory Muscle Training (IMT), home-based education programs, and acupuncture. Conclusion: Non-pharmacological interventions can be an important component in the management of dyspnea in cancer patients, significantly contributing to symptom reduction and overall patient well-being.
