Abstract

Building local food security with an ecological approach is vital for ensuring sustainable and resilient food systems, particularly in the face of climate change and socio-economic challenges. This study systematically analyzes 60 peer-reviewed documents from the Scopus database to identify key themes, challenges, and opportunities in this domain. The findings highlight the importance of biodiversity, sustainable land management, governance, and policy support in achieving food security. However, significant barriers such as climate change, socio-economic inequalities, and knowledge gaps impede progress. Emerging technologies, community participation, and targeted policy reforms are identified as pivotal strategies for addressing these challenges. The study concludes that integrating ecological principles into local food systems not only enhances agricultural resilience but also fosters environmental conservation and social equity. These insights offer valuable guidance for policymakers, researchers, and practitioners working towards sustainable food security.

Abstract

The Subak traditional farming system in Bali embodies a harmonious relationship between humans, nature, and spirituality, epitomizing the Balinese philosophy of "Tri Hita Karana." This qualitative study explores the role of the Subak system in the preservation of natural and cultural resources in Bali. Through interviews with Subak farmers, water temple priests, and other stakeholders, as well as participant observation and document analysis, the study examines the ecological functions, cultural significance, and challenges facing the Subak system. The findings reveal that the Subak system plays a vital role in maintaining ecological balance, biodiversity, and soil health in Bali's landscapes. Furthermore, the Subak system holds profound cultural significance, serving as a spiritual anchor, fostering community cohesion, and preserving cultural heritage. However, the Subak system faces numerous challenges, including urbanization, water scarcity, and demographic shifts, which threaten its sustainability and resilience. Addressing these challenges requires concerted efforts to protect Subak landscapes, promote traditional farming practices, and empower local communities. By recognizing the holistic value of the Subak system, stakeholders can work together to ensure the preservation of Bali's natural and cultural heritage for future generations.

Abstract

SMEs play a crucial role in a country's economy, contributing significantly to GDP, job creation, and income distribution. However, SMEs often face significant challenges, particularly in competing with large corporations and adapting to changing consumer needs. This research focuses on the identification and analysis of innovative strategies that can help SMEs align themselves with community needs. The study adopts a qualitative literature review approach, gathering data from Google Scholar for the period 2018-2023. The results indicate that, in facing challenges and opportunities in the economic landscape, innovative strategies for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) become a fundamental foundation to ensure their relevance and sustainability. A profound understanding of societal needs, the implementation of technology, collaboration, and the enhancement of management skills are key elements in formulating an effective innovative strategy. Through these steps, SMEs can become agents of change, not only meeting consumer expectations but also contributing to sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

Quality human resources (HR) are one of the main pillars in the economic development of a country. The unemployment rate among young people remains relatively high in many areas. Lack of access to training and adequate resources often serves as a major barrier for youth to start their own businesses. Intervention is needed to boost entrepreneurship among young people. This research aims to examine the role of business incubators in enhancing HR competence and promoting entrepreneurship among young people in general. This study is a literature review with a qualitative approach. Data were collected from scholarly articles published during the period 2005-2024, primarily from Google Scholar, which is a credible platform for academic literature search. The study results indicate that business incubators play a central role in developing and accelerating the growth and success of startup companies in Indonesia, especially among young people. In this context, business incubators not only enhance human resource competence through training programs and mentoring but also encourage entrepreneurship by creating a conducive environment for the development of innovative ideas. Business incubators also serve as a link between various elements in the entrepreneurship ecosystem and have a positive impact on the local economy and society as a whole.

Abstract

Abstract

Momosad is a gotong royong activity in which a group of farmers work together to maintain their land. Currently, Momosad is transitioning from a labor-based to a wage-based Momosad (commercial). The research aims are (1) to uncover Momosad's cultural values, which are still relevant today, (2) to describe the elements that influence changes in the values in land management, and (3) to examine patterns of changes in the values. This study employed a qualitative technique using the Miles and Huberman Model, involving interviews, observations, and documentation. Data was processed using the triangulation rule. The results suggest that there are three types of Momosad agricultural production activities in Dumoga. (1) Pure-Momosad has family values; (2) Semi-Momosad values unity and dependence. (3) Non-Momosad (commercial) values include agreement and dependency. There are three variables that influence Momosad's change: (1) pre-colonial, (2) colonial, (3) development, and (4) regional autonomy. Cultural contact, development period, and regional autonomy all have a significant impact on the pattern of change in the value. The pattern of change began with cultural contact between transmigration and local residents, evolved into the power to form villages during Momosad construction, and the autonomy of the region became a political commodity used to rally the masses. Keywords: cultural values, Momosad, transformation
