Abstract

Using toilets is a simple way to prevent diarrhea, yet no validated tool exists to measure this habit. This study aimed to develop and validate instruments for measuring latrine use consistency. This questionnaire was adapted from the risk, attitude, norm, ability, and self-regulation (RANAS) framework developed in India and modified for Indonesia. It was evaluated by three experts using the content validity index (CVI). The face validity index (FVI) was pilot-tested on 40 community respondents. Variables measured included behavior, habits, intentions to use toilets, knowledge, attitudes, norms, abilities, and self-regulation. Question items with relevance and clarity scores of item CVI above 0.80 were considered valid and appropriate. Item scoring 0.70–0.79 required revisions, while scores below 0.70 led to deletion. The relevance and clarity assessment results for behavioral, intention, knowledge, norm, and attitude to use toilet questions yielded a scale CVI of more than 0.80, indicating that all items were valid and reliable. However, the habits, abilities, and self-regulation variables had varying I-CVI scores, indicating a need to revise or remove certain items. A culturally adapted and validated RANAS-based instrument is reliable for measuring latrine use behavior in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this learning is to see an increase in the learning outcomes of class V students at SDN Kandangan 1 Ngawi in science and technology subjects, Ecosystem component material using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. The subjects in this research were class V students at SDN Kandangan 1 Ngawi Regency with a total of 17 children. Data collection techniques in this research were observation, tests and documentation. The research data analysis technique uses quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of this research show a significant improvement from each cycle. In the pre-cycle or before using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model, it was discovered that only 23.52% of students or the equivalent of 4 children had achieved the science and science learning objectives on land ecosystem food chains. Furthermore, in cycle 1 there was a significant increase in learning outcomes as evidenced by the fact that 64.7% of students or the equivalent of 11 children had achieved the learning objectives. Continuing in the second cycle, learning outcomes also increased in the second cycle, amounting to 88.23% or the equivalent of 15 students having achieved this learning objective. The conclusion of this research is that there is an increase in student learning outcomes in science and science lessons on Ecosystem Components using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model.

Abstract

This research will examine and comprehend the function and impact of technology usage in the context of education management in Southeast Asian schools. In the rapidly evolving digital and information technology era, education in the region faces many obstacles and opportunities. This research employs a qualitative literature review methodology to comprehend how schools in Southeast Asia use and manage technology in educational contexts. Data collection requires searching for, selecting, and analyzing relevant literature based on topic accuracy, relevance, reliability, and quality standards. Data analysis entails identifying central themes, methods utilized in the literature, and pertinent findings. The findings indicate that education resource management is essential for enhancing the quality of education in Southeast Asia. Faced with obstacles such as unequal access to education, varying quality of education, and policy shifts, the efficient management and application of technology have emerged as a viable solution. The equitable distribution of educational resources such as facilities, teachers, and learning materials among schools in different regions ensures that every student has access to a quality education.

Abstract

Aluminum is widely used in the industrial world, usually, the connection of aluminum often uses the rivet method and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding. Many welding methods can be used for joining aluminum, but the Friction Stir Welding method is the most recommended method because the process is simple and does not pose a health hazard. This research was conducted to determine the contribution of the Friction Stir Welding (FSW) process parameter to the depth of surface defects using a hexagonal pin geometric tool. Welding material uses AA6061-T651 aluminum and uses 4 parameters: tool speed, welding speed, concave shoulder angle, and tool tilt angle. In this process, the Taguchi method is used to study the effect of parameters with a predetermined process variation. From the results of ANOVA with signal to noise, more minor is better, we get a significant factor in the depth of surface defects. The results obtained are surface defects close to 0 mm or parallel to the specimen surface, in specimen 16 with a tool slope parameter of 2°, a tool rotation speed of 3022 rpm, welding speed of 60 mm/m, and a concave shoulder angle of 11°.

Abstract

Suli Mineral Water is a bottled drinking water product founded by the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership Economic and Entrepreneurship Council (MEK-PDM) Tuban, East Java in establishing the Suli 5 Bottled Drinking Water company which is a franchise of PT. Suryatama Cemerlang Abadi (SCA) as Suli's holding company 5. The use of Suli drinking water in all business charities has not yet shown a positive trend. This problem is important to research because drinking water supplies have the potential to grow and develop. This research aims to identify consumer preferences for drinking water packaging product design as a recommendation for marketing and manufacturing policies. The research method used is the traditional conjoint method which is used to measure the utility value and relative importance of each bottled water product design attribute to determine consumer preferences for these attributes. The data collection process in this research was carried out in December 2023 - March 2024. The sample chosen was a non-probability sampling, namely using a judgment sampling technique with a total of 200 respondents. The results of this research are that product parameters consist of product performance, features, reliability, suitability, durability, service capability, quality impression (perception), aesthetics, and product packaging so that using combined analysis provides quantitative information so that modeling of consumer preferences in producing combination of features in the 600 ml suli packaging product design

Abstract

This paper discusses how the influence of the tool diameter on the surface roughness of the workpiece, how the effect of feeding speed on the surface roughness of the workpiece and whether there is an interaction between the tool diameter and feeding speed on the workpiece surface roughness in the AISI 1045 steel milling process. Variables that are varied in this study were the tool diameter, namely 6 mm, 8 mm, and 10 mm and the variation of feeding speed used was 33.5 mm/min, 59.4 mm/min and 111.9 mm/min. After the AISI 1045 steel milling process by varying the specified parameters, and then the surface roughness test of the workpiece is carried out. From the results of research that has been done, it can be concluded that, tool diameter and feeding speed together have a significant effect on the surface roughness of the workpiece in the AISI 1045 steel milling process.
