Abstract

Technology has a positive role in improving students' learning abilities. The teacher has the leading role in implementing technology in the classroom. This study aims to introduce technology that can be integrated into science learning and report the perspective of science teachers with different educational backgrounds in integrating technology into the learning process. The study uses a qualitative method by using interviews to collect data. The participants were selected randomly from the Association of Science Education Teachers in West Bandung, Indonesia. Six teachers chose to be interviewed based on different teaching experiences and educational backgrounds. The study found that science teachers with different educational backgrounds have different perspectives on the difficulty of teaching science concepts. But they have the same solution to this problem: integrating technology into the learning process. All participants in this study have experience integrating technology in learning but are the first experience in using AR technology. Various technologies are considered appropriate for integration into science learning, but AR technology that can visualize abstract concepts has the potential to be used more in education

Abstract

This research is a development research with the aim of developing learning media based on kvisoft flipbook maker on Global Warming material in order to improve understanding of concepts in class X high school students. This type of research is the development of Research and Development (R&D). The design of this study uses the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implement, and Evaluation) model. The research subjects consisted of 26 students in each control and experimental class. The sample in this study was determined by random sampling. The instrument used is an assessment scale to determine the quality of the developed learning media and a concept understanding test to determine students' conceptual understanding. The software used to develop this learning media is kvisoft flipbook maker. Validation was carried out by 3 expert validators and students. Analysis of the data used is SBi to analyze the feasibility of the media and the Mann Whitney Test. The results showed that the kvisoft flipbook maker-based E-LKPD was feasible to be used in improving understanding of the concept of Global Warming in class X high school students. This was based on the average number of learning media feasibility scores by expert validators was 4.6 which means ≥4.21 and the average score of the students' assessment is 3.6, which means ≥3.0. The post-test average score of students' conceptual understanding in the control class was 70.58, while in the experimental class it was 83.85. Then from the results of the non-parametric test, the output of the test statistics is known as Asym.Sig (2-talled) with a value of 0.049 which means α˂0.05.

Abstract

Learning has now gradually recovered from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic with the start of limited face-to-face learning. This makes educators need to innovate so that students still have independent learning. Online learning that is less than optimal causes students to be too passive when learning offline. The use of technology, the selection of interesting learning models, and media according to the characteristics of the material, especially abstract material, are still needed to answer the challenges of 21st-century learning. The use of technology and the development of students' learning independence is very important to face real life and make learning more effective. The purpose of this study is to analyze the learning independence of students through the implementation of LKPD discovery learning assisted by augmented reality. This research is descriptive qualitative research with 28 students of class VIII at SMP N 2 Karangnongko. The data collection technique used a student learning independence questionnaire, which was triangulated with learning observation sheets and interviews with science teachers. The data analysis technique according to Miles Huberman (1992) goes through three steps, namely data reduction, data displaying, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of the learning independence questionnaire were analyzed using the percentage technique. Based on the learning independence questionnaire data, the average percentage is 70% in the medium category

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted various fields, especially education, namely the implementation of distance learning. One of the activities carried out by teachers is the implementation of independent practicum by students so that teaching and learning activities continue to run even though the students are at home. This study aims to analyze the motion of jumping cats using a tracker application that can be used as a practicum activity independently in science subjects of motion material in grade VII by using cats that are in the environment of learners as the subject of the study. This research method uses a hands-on experimental approach by taking videos of jumping cats' motion and processing them with a tracker app. The results of data processing with the help of tracker application are processed by using Microsoft Excel program so that obtained KD, KB, TB, K and E relationship graphs cat jump has a constant or stable speed indicated by linearity graphs. In addition, data processing using a tracker application is more accurate and consistent compared to the acceleration value by manually calculating so that it can be concluded the use of application-assisted jumping cat video analysis is worth using in science learning.

Abstract

The impact of the STEAM approach in education can help students have 21st Century skills. This study aims to review the development of STEAM approach research on physics learning in Indonesia. Systematic literature review research with the content analysis method was used to review articles published from 2018-2022. The analysis techniques carried out are identification, screening and analysis. Assessment of article inclusion and quality is done to avoid bias in research. There were 28 articles that were in accordance with the focus of this study. The results of the study are the most widely used type of experimental research, the subject of research is at the junior high school level students grade VII and VIII with a sample number of 20-45 students. Test research instruments are widely used by examining light and optical materials. The variable that is often measured is creative thinking skills. Learning media integrated with the PjBL-STEAM model is the most widely used choice. Therefore, research variables that have not been measured are representation skills and higher-order thinking skills aspects of problem solving and physical materials that have never been used for testing are rigid body equilibrium, work and energy, temperature and heat, newton's laws, electromagnetic, electrical and parabolic motion, so further study is needed on its implementation with the STEAM approach.ABSTRAKDampak pendekatan STEAM dalam pendidikan dapat membantu siswa memiliki keterampilan Abad ke-21. Penelitian ini bertujuan meninjau perkembangan penelitian pendekatan STEAM pada pembelajaran fisika di Indonesia. Penelitian systematic literature review dengan metode konten analisis digunakan meninjau artikel yang terbit dari tahun 2018-2022. Teknik analisis yang dilakukan adalah identifikasi, screening dan analisis. Penilaian inklusi dan kualitas artikel dilakukan untuk menghindari bias pada penilitian. Didapatlah 28 artikel yang memiliki kesesuaian dengan fokus penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian adalah jenis penelitian eksperimen paling banyak digunakan, subjek penelitiannya pada siswa tingkat SMP kelas VII dan VIII dengan jumlah sampelnya 20-45 siswa. Instrumen penelitian tes banyak digunakan dengan meneliti materi cahaya dan optik. Variabel yang sering diukur adalah keterampilan berpikir kreatif. Media pembelajaran yang terintegrasi model PjBL-STEAM menjadi pilihan paling banyak digunakan. Oleh karena itu, variabel penelitian yang belum diukur adalah keterampilan representasi dan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi aspek pemecahan masalah dan materi fisika yang belum pernah digunakan untuk pengujian adalah kesetimbangan benda tegar, usaha dan energi, suhu dan kalor, hukum newton, elektromagnetik, kelistrikan dan gerak parabola, sehingga hal tersebut diperlukannya kajian lebih lanjut mengenai implementasinya dengan pendekatan STEAM.

Abstract

Experiment activity is an essential part of science learning. Suling (flute), a traditional musical instrument from West Java, can be used as a learning media for sound wave concepts. Technology-based mobile can be used as an experimental tool is Phypox. This study aims to report using a combination of Suling and Phypox in experiment activities. The designed activity aims to engage students in critical thinking. The instrument for measuring critical thinking consists of five questions based on the critical thinking aspect: interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, and explanation. The study used a one-group pre-and post-test design on 32 8th-grade students at one of the junior high schools in West Java Province, Indonesia. The study procedure is a pre-test, discussion of Suling’s concepts, introduction to Phypox application, experiment activity, presentation, and post-test. Data analysis uses the normalized gain to compare the pre-and post-test. Experiment activities help students to understand frequency, open organ pipes concepts, and investigate the speed of sound produced by Suling. The study found a significant change in the pre-and post-test scores of students after experimenting, so it could be interpreted that the experimental activities using Suling and Phypox affected critical-thinking students.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tekanan terhadap perubahan intensitas keluaran fiber optik, pemberian berbagai macam gel pengisian pada sambungan terhadap keluaran fiber optik dan untuk mengetahui sensitivitas dan linearitas terbaik pada sensor tekanan fiber optik.Fiber optik yang digunakan adalah Polymer Optical Fiber (POF) tipe SH-4001-1.3.Polymer Optical Fiber ini memiliki indeks bias core sebesar 1,49 dan indeks bias cladding sebesar 1,41. Gel disisipi diantara fiber optik dengan sepanjang 1 cm di dalam pipa kecil, kemudian diberi variasi tekanan sehingga mempengaruhi intensitas cahaya. Daya optik keluaran dari Polymer Optical Fiber dideteksi menggunakan Optical Power Meter (OPM). Sumber cahaya yang digunakan adalah laser HeNe dengan panjang gelombang 632,8 nm dan daya keluaran 5 mW.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intensitas cahaya keluaran fiber optik mengalami penaikan seiring dengan penambahan tekanan. Pemberian tekanan pada penyambungan fiber optik dengan menggunakan berbagai jenis gel menunjukkan bahwa gel yang memiliki nilai keluaran intensitas cahaya terbaik yaitu gel pulpen dengan warna gel kuning. Nilai sensitivitas terbaik pada gel pulpen dengan warna gel kuning pada jarak 0,5 cm dengan gradien sebesar (0,0035 ± 0,0028) dBm/cm. Sedangkan linearitas terbaik terdapat pada jenis gel pulpen dengan warna gel bening pada perlakuan dengan jarak 0 cm yaitu sebesar 0,99919.  Kata kunci: Polymer Optical Fiber(POF), gel, sensor tekanan AbstractThis study aimed to determine the effect of pressure on the output intensity of optical fiber, to determine the effect of filling gel variations on the conjunction of the output optical fiber, and also to obtain the best of sensitivity and linearity of the pressure sensor on optical fiber.Optical fiber used was Polymer Optical Fiber (POF) typeSH-4001-1.3. Polymer Optical Fiber had 1.49 core refractive index and 1.41 cladding refractive index. Gel was inserted between the optical fiber with 1 cm length in the small pipe, and then gel was given pressure variations, so it will affect the intensity. Optical power output of Polymer Optical Fiber (POF) was detected using Optical Power Meter (OPM). The light source used was HeNe laser with 632.8 nm wavelength and 5 mW output powers.The results of the study indicated that output intensity of optical fiber increased throught the addition ofpressure.The giving of pressure variations to the optical fiber conjuction by using different types of gel showed that the gel which had the best of output intensity was the yellow gel pen. The best sensitivity value was had by the yellow gel pen with 0,5 cm distance and (0.0035 ± 0.0028) dBm/cm gradient. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh formasi serat optik dan ketinggian cairan terhadap keluaran daya optik dan mengetahui sensitivitas serta linearitas terbaik pada sensor ketinggian air yang berbentuk sinusoida. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan sensor ketinggan air dengan fiber optik yang berbentuk sinusoida yang disisipi gel. Fiber optik yang digunakan adalah Polymer Optical Fiber (POF) tipe SH-4001-1.3. Variasi formasi fiber optik di tentukan panjang lintasan, panjang pengelupasan, lebar kelengkungan, tinggi kelengkungan dan bentuk gelombang. Ada 4 formasi, yaitu Formasi A (20 cm, 34 cm, 6 cm, 2 cm, 1 gelombang), Formasi B (20 cm, 34 cm, 8 cm, 2 cm, 1 gelombang ), Formasi C (20 cm, 34 cm, 9 cm, 2 cm, ½ gelombang) dan Formasi D (20 cm, 34 cm, 10 cm, 2 cm, ½ gelombang). Sumber cahaya yang digunakan adalah cahaya laser He-Ne dengan daya sebesar 5 mW dan panjang gelombang sebesar 632,8 nm. Laser He-Ne memancarkan cahaya melalui Polymer Optical Fiber yang kemudian diterima oleh Optical Power Meter (OPM). Untuk mempermudah melihat data kenaikan pada grafik maka dilakukan perhitungan luas daerah di bawah kurva. Lebar kelengkungan pada POF dapat mempengaruhi output POF. Nilai intensitas cahaya keluaran fiber optik yang berbentuk sinusoida pada setiap lebar kelengkungannya semakin kecil saat diberikan tambahan ketinggian air sehingga membentuk grafik linear. Nilai sensitivitas terbaik berada pada Formasi A dengan lebar kelengkungan 6 cm dan linearitas terbaik berada pada Formasi C dengan lebar kengkungan 9 cm.Kata kunci : Polymer Optical Fiber (POF), ketinggian cairan, lebar kelengkunganAbstract            The objectives of this study is to determine the effect of fiber optic formation and the liquid height toward optical power output, and also to determine the best sensitivity and linearity of liquid level sensor in a sinusoidal form. This study is using liquid level sensor with fiber optic in a sinusoidal form which has been inserted gel. Fiber optic used in this study is Polymer Optical Fiber (POF) with type of SH-4001-1.3. Here, the variations of fiber optic formation are the length of track, the length of peeling, the width of curvature, curvature height, and waveform, respectively. There are 4 formations, i.e. formation A (20 cm, 34 cm, 6 cm, 2 cm, and 1 wave), formation B (20 cm, 34 cm, 8 cm, 2 cm, and 1 wave), formation C (20 cm, 34 cm, 9 cm, 2 cm, and a half wave), and formation D (20 cm, 34 cm, 10 cm, 2 cm, and a half wave). Light source used is He-Ne laser with Power of 5 mW and wavelength of 632,8 nm. He-Ne Laser emits light through Polymer Optical Fiber, which is then will be received by Optical Power Meter (OPM). To know the increase of data on the  graph, so it is necessary to calculate area under the curve. The curvature width on POF can affect the POF output. The Light intensity value of optical fiber output in the sinusoidal form at each widthis smaller  as the liquid level higher, so it forms a linear graph. Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lekukan, pengaruh lapisan nanopartikel TiO2 serta sebagai pelapis cladding terhadap pelemahan daya optik serta uji sensitivitas sensor beban berbasis Polymer Optical Fiber (POF). Serat optik yang digunakan adalah POF tipe SH-4001-1.3 dengan indeks bias core sebesar 1,49 dan indeks bias cladding sebesar 1,41 yang berlapis nanopartikel TiO2 pada bagian claddingnya. Pelapisan nanopartikel TiO2 dengan konsentrasi 5 mM menggunakan metode coating. POF berlapis TiO2 dibentuk melingkar dengan variasi diameter 4 cm, 5 cm dan 6 cm yang kemudian ditekan massa sampai 1000 gram dengan interval kenaikan massa beban 50 gram. Sumber cahaya yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah laser He-Ne dengan daya maksimum 5 mW dan panjang gelombang sebesar 632,8 nm. Laser He-Ne memancarkan cahaya melalui POF yang kemudian diterima oleh Optical Power Meter (OPM). Intensitas cahaya terukur dari setiap pelemahan sinyal laser yang disebabkan oleh variasi perubahan massa, kemudian di-plot untuk mengetahui sensitivitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin landai lekukan pada lintasan POF, maka sensitivitas sensor beban POF juga semakin tinggi. Pelapisan nanopartikel TiO2 pada bagian cladding POF memperbesar pelemahan daya optik keluarannya. Sensitivitas terbaik terdapat pada POF yang berlapis nanopartikel TiO2 pada bagian cladding-nya dengan diameter lintasan 6 cm dan range massa (350 – 750) gram. Kata kunci: sensor beban berbasis Polimer Optical Fiber, nanopartikel TiO2 Abstract This research aims to know the influence of grooves and coating TiO2 nanoparticles as a cladding coating against weakening the power of optical sensor sensitivity test and load-based Polymer Optical Fiber (POF). Optical fiber POF used was the type SH-4001-1.3 with refractive index 1.49 of core and cladding refractive index of TiO2 nanoparticles coated 1.41 in section cladding. Coating TiO2 nanoparticles with a 5 mM concentration method using coating. POF-coated TiO2 formed circular with the variation in diameter 4 cm, 5 cm and 6 cm then suppressed mass until 1000 gram intervals increase the mass of a load of 50 grams. The source of light used in this research is the He-Ne laser with a maximum power of 5 mW and wavelength of 632.8 nm. He-Ne laser emits light through POF which is then received by the Optical Power Meter (OPM). The measured light intensity of each laser signal attenuation caused by variations in the mass, then changes in a plot to know the sensitivity. The results showed that the more gently sloping indentations on the trajectory of the POF, then load sensor sensitivity POF also getting higher. Coating TiO2 nanoparticles on the cladding POF optical zoom power attenuation outputs. The best sensitivity is present on a nanoparticle-coated TiO2 POF on the cladding with a diameter of 6 cm and the trajectory of the mass range (350 – 750) grams Keywords: weight sensor based on Polymer Optical Fiber, TiO2 nanoparticles

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lekukan fiber optik, konsentrasi larutan, perbedaan jenis larutan dan juga untuk mendapatkan sensitivitas dan linearitas terbaik pada sensor. Fiber optik yang digunakan adalah Polymer Optical Fiber (POF) tipe SH 4001-1.3. Polymer Optical Fiber (POF) memiliki indeks bias core sebesar 1,49 dan indeks bias cladding sebesar 1,41. Polymer Optical Fiber (POF) lebih banyak digunakan daripada fiber optik kaca karena lebih mudah diubah-ubah dan diberi perlakuan. Sumber cahaya yang digunakan adalah cahaya laser He-Ne dengan daya sebesar 5 mW dan panjang gelombang sebesar 632,8 nm. Keluaran dari Polymer Optical Fiber (POF) ini diterima oleh rangkaian pengikut tegangan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perubahan konsentrasi larutan asam oksalat (H2C2O4), natrium hidroksida (NaOH) dan garam (NaCl) dapat menyebabkan pelemahan daya pada keluaran fiber optik dengan selisih nilai tegangan keluaran setiap perubahan konsentrasi larutan rata-rata 0,003 V sampai 0,01 V. Untuk sensitivitas sensor terbaik terdapat pada larutan garam (NaCl). Sedangkan linearitas sensor terbaik adalah larutan natrium hidroksida (NaOH). Abstract This researchaimed to determine the effect of bending on optical fiber, solutionconcentration, differenttypes ofsolution on the light intensity output of u-shaped optical fiber, and also to obtain the bestsensitivityandlinearityon the sensor.The optical fiber usedwasPolymer Optical Fiber (POF) type SH-4001-1.3.Polymer Optical Fiber (POF) had a core refractive index of 1.49 andarefractive index of cladding at 1.41.Polymer Optical Fiber (POF) was more widely usedthan the glass optical fiberbecause it was easily altered andtreated.Thelight source usedwas He-Ne laser light withpowerof 5 mW and wavelength of632.8 nm. The outputof Polymer Optical Fiber (POF) was received by the voltagefollowercircuit.The resultsof this researchshowedthat the concentrationchange of the oxalate acid solution (H2C2O4), sodiumhydroxide (NaOH) andsalt (NaCl) decreased the optical fiber outputwith the difference of output voltage valueevery change of solution concentration average 0.003 V until 0.01 V.The best sensor sensitivity was found in the salt solution (NaCl).While the best sensorlinearity wassodiuma hydroxide (NaOH).
